InTheWayBoy is absoutely correct. 10 is the limit and yes things can be modified.. but yes this can be modified but is also in violation of EULA. As for using this on a college campus.. sounds like a "business". Have them purchase a server OS for server functions and desktop OS for desktop functions so they stay out of licensing legal troubles.

Terminal Services Number of Users Issue
chilifrei64 replied to swancd's topic in Windows 2000/2003/NT4
100% true. Because you made the SBS the License Server. This is a central location for the licenses. If you added an additional Terminal Server, it would look to the domain license server for CAL's. You can install all of your Client Cal's, TS's Cal's and any other type of network access Cals on here as the central license server So even though you can install the licenses fine.. that doesnt mean you can run SBS in Application Mode. The main reason SBS cannot be a Application Mode Terminal Server is the shear security risk that comes with it.. SBS requires to be a domian controller and the only domain controller in the enviroment. This means this is the most important part of your network. Making it a terminal Server would mean you have regular users (that needs heavier rights to log on to a DC) logging on to your Domain Controller. This is a security risk and a half.. either way.. here is a little article i searched for from MS that can explain to you http://www.microsoft.com/canada/partner/pr...es/default.aspx -
POP/SMTP mail is pull based meaning you need to run a send a receive from the client to get the mail.. Exchange is a type of push based.. If you have outlook open and it is configured with an exchange account you will see it immediately.. Not gonna happen with POP mail.

For starters.. sharing pst files is never a good idea since MS made the pst files non-sharable That beingt said.. outlook 2000 did have some problems with not closing out the program and leaving the pst open. a few things you can do it make sure it is completely updated.. download all the latest service packs and see if it still happens.. NOTE: Install the Service releases BEFORE you install the Service packs.. i remember a few instances where I did not follow this and it made for more errors for me to fix after that if you still have this problem you can try this 1. Always back up .pst files 2. Go to Help and select Detect and Repair. If it came across anything to fix it will ask you to reboot. or if you have a bad .pst file: 1. Right click on Outlook Today and choose "Properties". 2. Click on advanced. 3. Write down the entire path of the Personal Folders. 4. Close properties. 5. Go to Start and then Run. 6. Type in Outlook.exe /cleanpst. 7. Open up Outlook. If a box comes up asking to recreate shortcuts, click no for now. 8. Go to File, click on Import and Export. 9. Select Import from another program or file. 10. Select Personal Folder File (.pst). 11. Type in the path you wrote down in the file to import and select Next. 12. This should take a few minutes and restore all your information and correct the problem. To further repair you can try 1. Go to Start and then Run 2. Type in outlook /safe and hit enter 3. Wait for Outlook to completely load. Shut it down and check the Task Manager. If OUTLOOK.EXE is not still running this means there is either an add-ins problem or the Outlook start up files are corrupt; continue with the following steps. Go to Start Menu and Search Search for extend.dat and change to extend.old Search for outcmd.dat and change to outcmd.old Search for views.dat and change to views.old; if it's not there that's ok Go back and start Outlook normally Shut it down and check the Task Manager. Hopefully it should be fixed. also a few articles http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...kb;EN-US;196366

reg key for start menu default email icon
chilifrei64 replied to chiners_68's topic in Microsoft Office
When you install outlook 2003.. it will remove previous versions.. it will not give you the option to keep the old one. That being said.. if you make it so windows doesnt think that 2000 is installed.. you can run both.. but that wasnt your question.. To change the Icon.. do as ziegel says -
Terminal Services Number of Users Issue
chilifrei64 replied to swancd's topic in Windows 2000/2003/NT4
This walk-through is actually kinda easy.. it cannot be done. SBS2003 or even SBS2000 CANNOT be a Terminal Server Application Mode server. If you want a Terminal Server you need to purchase Server 2003 or Server 2000 STANDARD EDITION. SBS will not work, It is not possible -
OK.. i think we are actually misunderstanding you.. Lemme get this straight You want to set a USER login script but you only want the script to run when they log on to specific computers? am I way off here?

This can sometimes be associated with the installation CD and is also related to windows product activation. My suggestion is to call up microsoft and they can walk you through activating you copy of windows VLK? Retail? OEM? what type is it

Please clarify what your question is...

If you set it up like the image than it will run on every computer in the OU that you applied it to.. Did you do what he said under the image Create a group and add the computers you want the script to run on to that group. Then, like it shows in the image... remove authenticated users and add the group that you just created. With doing this.. it will run the script on ANY computer that is in that OU that is part of the group you just created

Explorer droping out no reason
chilifrei64 replied to blackoscar's topic in Networks and the Internet
I would run your Big 3 anti spyware (MS, lavasoft, spybot).. you definately have spyware these ones look fishy to me C:\program files\Telstra\Signup\tbpt.exe C:\Program Files\Error Fixer\ErrorFixer.Exe C:\WINNT\System32\nof.exe -
as long as you are on the same machine you should be all set.. worst case scenario... you will have to call up MS because your key code will be locked.. they will ask you if this is the only computer it is installed on.. you say yes and they give you the activation.

Outlook 2003 as the "Check Name" button and if you start typing then hit the button it will auto complete or give you the option.. for it to automatically show up in a drop down box.. this happens after you send an email to someone for the first time.. the second time you start to type the address.. it will add it to the autocomplete.. even if it is not in any of your contact lists.

access 2 exchange servers in 1 profile
chilifrei64 replied to notquiteanewbie's topic in Microsoft Office
Only answer is 2 seperate profiles.. unless you allow pop3 or IMAP access. NOW.... if you have access to other mailboxes(they will have to be delegated to you) but you can open additional mailboxes Tools-> email accounts-> "exchange account" -> more settings -> advanced -> under add these additional mailboxes.. type in the username of the mailbox you want to open... This will only allow you to view them and edit them but not send as them.. you will need to delegate access to send as that account also. -
What version OWA is it.. 5.5/2000/2003 ?
-
you can add additional accounts in addition to the exchange server account then when you create an email you get a "Accounts" button in your toolbar where you can select who you are sending it as.
