  1. abbodi1406 has made an installer of .net 4.8 for 10 1507 and 1511, and it works perfectly, although you need to install it from windows pe with powershell support, but otherwise, it works pretty well, here is the link to the installer https://github.com/abbodi1406/WHD/raw/master/scripts/dotNetFx48-1507_1511_refresh.zip
  2. For 8.1 it is not needed, but for 8.0 it is needed
  3. Here is a guide how to make Firefox 118 beta 2 work on 8.0: 1. Install Explorer Suite (which includes CFF Explorer): https://ntcore.com/?page_id=388 2. Download the exe installer from this site: https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/118.0b2/win64/en-US/Firefox Setup 118.0b2.exe (the only version that I tested, but that should work on FF 116/117 too) 3. Extract it via 7-Zip 4. Open all exe files located in core folder using CFF Explorer 5. In Optional Header change MajorOperatingSystemVersion and MajorSubsystemVersion from A to 6 (and repeat that to all exe files that have set those aforementioned versions as A) 6. Save them 7. Copy this dll file to Firefox folder 8. Open Firefox, and voila, you got working Firefox 118 beta 2 api-ms-win-shcore-scaling-l1-1-1.dll
  4. Firefox 118 beta 2 even works on Windows 8.0 (I will post later the guide how to make it work)
  5. I guess many Windows 8.0 users wish to have IE11 and .NET Framework 4.8, and here is a way to easily install them on Windows 8.0 (PowerShell 5.1 still need the good old workaround), and it is: Just install those packages (I recommend you to do that on vanilla 8.0 without any updates, but you can install them on already fully updated copy of 8.0 (just you need to reinstall updates again or some apps will be broken such as Discord): https://gitlab.com/stdout12/adns/uploads/c7c9f583da309adfb5f7a621ff3cf218/W8_NetFx4_IE11_Prereqs.7z And then reboot, and import the reg file that I pinned to manually install .NET 4.8 like normal And proceed to install IE11 and .NET 4.8 like normal (as long as you have installed pre-requisites (and preferably updates till at least 2019) before doing that) And voila, you should have a fully working IE11 and .NET 4.8 (its security updates will install like normal too) patchwu.reg
  6. Lol 8.1 have issues too with anything RX Vega+ (including RX 5700), because of DXGI flip and Discord/YouTube crash if hardware accel is enabled, so, the only viable option for now is to downgrade to Windows 7 (unless someone will found a way to mod it on 8.0 and/or 8.1)
  7. Does replacing dxgkrnl.sys with windows 7 one works? Also can you see how 16.9.1+ AMD drivers behave with Windows 8 beta, so, if it works on 8 beta, maybe dxgkrnl.sys from 8 beta will work?
  8. The temporary fix for broken 32-bit open file dialogs is to replace shell32.dll in SysWOW64 with the one from October 2022 EK (also if replace both 64-bit and 32-bit kernel32.dll with the one from October 2022 EK and revert userenv.dll to original Vista one, you can make March 2023 EK as stable as October 2022 EK, and if some program need the March 2023 equivalent of these files, just use redirection method, but there is another problem which happens even in October 2022 EK, and it is broken language bar, also idk how to fix the issue that sample videos refuse to play on WMP as well as idk if them work on October 2022 EK)
  9. And Office 2021 can be installed on 8/8.1 with hack
  10. Try this driver: https://dl.driverpack.io/driverpacks/repack/Video_Intel-NT/Intel/FORCED/6Xx64/HD600_21.20.16.5077/Intel-FORCED-6Xx64-HD600_21.20.16.5077-drp.zip P.S. it must be installed with driver signature enforcement disabled due to the inf file being modded, but the sys file is signed, so, you don't need to boot with driver signature enforcement disabled
  11. UPD: I think these dlls are responsible for these issues, because when I delete them, Discord/YouTube does not crash, and DXGI flip works fine, but sadly, it breaks many games dependent on DirectX 10+ (such as Roblox), so, for proper hardware and DirectX acceleration we need to mod these dlls: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1N_sDUt3CcFE3Cdlm2M9hqouf2d3edf8l/view?usp=sharing
  12. Hi! It is possible to fix the DXGI flip black screen and Discord/YouTube crash on 8.1 with Windows 7 AMD Radeon RX Vega up to 6xxx series drivers? Here is the driver if you know how to modify it (it works just fine with Windows 7): http://disk.yandex.ru/d/VfaNAP752NOBVQ
  13. How to install Office 2021 on Windows 8.1: 1. You must have installed Windows 8.1 (it can be both 32-bit and 64-bit), this workaround won't work on Windows 8.0 and earlier as of now 2. Have an extracted C2R copy of Office 2021 32-bit/64-bit (it must be Professional Plus and/or Visio Pro and/or Project Pro) handy 3. Install OfficeC2RExtender 4. Copy wotok_mdl.cmd to the root of Office 2021 C2R folder 5. Run wotok_mdl.cmd (no need to run as admin as it will ask for admin privileges itself) 6. Select option 3 7. Select default option 8. Select option 64 (if you have 64-bit copy) or 32 (if you have 32-bit copy) 9. Select option 2 (if present, if not, select option 1) 10. Select default option 11. Type "ProPlus2021Retail" (if you installing Professional Plus) or "VisioPro2021Retail" (if you installing Visio Pro) or "ProjectPro2021Retail" (if you installing Project Pro) P.S. The Volume variants are untested, so, I strongly recommend you to choose Retail ones 12. Select default option 13. Press "1" 14. Wait till it will be installed 15. And you should get this: 16. If you got this, then voila, you will get fully working Office 2021 (except for automatic updates, but that's not critical) Office_C2R_Extender_W81.zip wotok_mdl.cmd
  14. Hi! When I trying to spoof using application verifier, discord just refuses to launch. Any way how to fix that?

AMD Radeon RX Vega up to RX 6xxx series will also work with 8.1 with 22.6.1 driver unofficially, but it have issues with DXGI flip (it just gives black screen, mainly seen on newer Unity games) and Discord/YouTube (driver crashes when trying to play some videos with hardware acceleration enabled) NVIDIA GPUs: NVIDIA GeForce FX 5100 and later NVIDIA GeForce 8 series to GeForce 300 series NVIDIA GeForce 400 series and later; last NVIDIA GPU to officially support 8/8.1 was the GTX 1080 Ti along with driver version 474.44 (474.11 is the latest version signed for 8.x). 16. Now there is archive of some Windows 8.x Store apps, check it out: https://archive.org/details/Win8AppxArchive
  17. Hi! There is a way to run Roblox on Windows 8.0? Because when I trying to run it, I am getting this error: "Windows 8 is not supported. Please upgrade to Windows 8.1 or newer." P.S. Windows 7 is not affected by this problem, and Roblox works just fine on it
  18. Also does Vista work fine on Raptor Lake (with E-cores ofc)?
  19. The OP tho managed to get Vista work on Alder Lake F model UPD: he have some issues, but to a lesser extent than TSNH
  20. That only applies to Alder Lake CPUs with K and KF in the model
  21. Isn't that due to the lack of E-cores?
