  1. @Humming Owl I have tested 360 extreme explorer and minibrowser. The 360 extreme explorer browser is good, unfortunately it hangs from time to time. I found the minibrowser the best. It looks the most like Chrome. This browser is also the most stable. On the whole, you can say that both are good. It would be nice if there was an installer, because currently it's a bit cumbersome to access the browser. Best regards
  2. I found the splash.asp?page=3 and some other pages. So the page is still complete. We do not need to add the splash.asp?page=3 extra. Unfortunately, I still haven't figured out why it's stuck at this point.
  3. There can't and won't be any beta software to show, because Xp has been out of support since 2014 and W2k since 2010.
  4. Okay, too bad. It would have been nice if there had been Tls 1.3 support for Xp.
  5. I have copied the splash.asp?page=3 into the default folder. Apparently the file already existed and had to be replaced by this one. When I now open the page, I immediately get the WU welcome page but the Scan for Updates button does nothing. For this page, other splash.asp pages are necessary, but unfortunately I could not find them on wayback machine. The selfupdate.asp page is also missing, but I don't know if it has WU v4. This page downloads the file and checks if it is signed by Microsoft before displaying the start page.
  6. Deactivate the proxy in the Internet options and activate Tls 1.2. Try again.
  7. The entry was further down. I have edited the file. Try this one. config.ini
  8. I have updated my post above. I meant wpa.one.microsoft.com not mpa.one.microsoft.com.
  9. Add wpa.one.microsoft.com to SSL No-Verify in Config.ini and delete the entry under SSL Pass-Thru, then try again.
  10. I also think that the certificate is the problem. As far as I remember I think I got the yellow sign when I first opened the WU website. But I am not sure anymore. I'll install a fresh xp and then try again. My version is 5.131.2600.6459.
  11. I have HTTPSProxy running in Win 7 and when I check for updates I get a similar error to AU in Xp. Without proxy the search works. Apparently AU in Xp does not like the proxy. WU in Win 7 does not like the proxy either.
  12. Hello @AstroSkipper I found something interesting in the www. This is a similar software as ProxhttpsProxy or HTTPSProxy that supports Tls 1.3 and it should even run under IE6. I tried to install it but failed. Here is the link: https://bitbucket.org/ValdikSS/oldssl-proxy/src/master/ Best regards
  13. This file is for the WU website. It does not require a patch. But thanks for the offer.
  14. The web page downloads the file for Xp. This is probably because the wuweb.dll file is not patched. wuweb.dll = Windows Update Web Control
  15. I apologise, I had to revise my post again as it was not quite correct. Sorry for the inconvenience.
  16. This comes from the WU patch. As you know, the patch adds registry entries which contain a download address as a value, it downloads the file "wuredir.cab". This file contains other addresses including the new endpoint but also the address of "wuident.cab". However, the file for Win7 only applies to the AU service. The WU website downloads the one for Xp.
  17. I can say from my own experience that the error comes from the fact that the address uses ECDHE ciphers and these are known not to work without a proxy. He will probably then get the error 0x80096010, as I did. However, I have not yet found the cause.
