Microsoft Windows Update v3/v4/v5
maile3241 replied to WULover's topic in Windows 9x Member Projects
AUv4 is alive! Unfortunately it is still difficult, because you have to bypass the old endpoints that only works with a Windows server. ProxhttpsProxy is also needed.- 1,089 replies

I do not know what to say. Big thanks to @WinFX for the excellent work to get WUv4 working again. Honestly, I would never have believed that WUv4 would ever work again. A dream come true!- 1,089 replies

Microsoft Windows Update v3/v4/v5

There is very good news! @Miles Prower found results.asp in a Win ME preinstalled file! Currently the page is still static, so the wrong updates are displayed. Unfortunately we are still missing the results.asp for the selection of updates i.e. for "Important Updates and Service Packs" and for "Windows x". Here is a short video:- 1,089 replies

It also works without a proxy. I just opened it so I don't get a certificate warning.- 1,089 replies

Brief Update. So the search for updates in WUv4 works thanks @WinFX again only unfortunately results.asp is missing because it was not archived properly. It redirects to splash.asp?page=3. That means we can't view or install the updates. I think that we will find a solution for this problem. The Update Catalog is the next project. Here some screenshots:- 1,089 replies

You have entered the Ip address in the proxy settings under HTTP instead of Secure. Enter the Ip and Prot only under Secure.- 1,089 replies

Download wuweb.dll here: https://download.zip.dll-files.com/c31dce575ee43cfe5ee1bd1b5fb29a8d/wuweb.zip?token=lSKi8NX_M08apicpdMDapw&expires=1663744042 and register it under system32. If you have x64, then under syswow64. Then you have to replace wuaueng.dll, but first you have to change the access permission. Then add the registry entries. W2k WU registry entries.reg

Hello all, Here is a tutorial on how to run ProxhttpsProxy v1.3a on Windows 2000. First you need to have Visual c++ 2008 installed. Then download Python 3.4.3 but make sure that you don't have "Pip" selected for installation, otherwise it will fail. When you have everything installed, download "Python fix" and run the fix according to the readme description. Finally, you just need to download ProxhttpsProxy, save the certificate in the root certificate store in the local computer and run the batch file "start proxy". Done! Have fun trying Downloads: ProxhttpsProxy v1.3a Python version: https://www.mediafire.com/file/d8jkjm81iz2ea9c/ProxHTTPSProxyMII-7023994cd112df42ca9f78d187d99decc0df7d62.zip/file Microsoft Visual C++ 2008: https://download.microsoft.com/download/1/1/1/1116b75a-9ec3-481a-a3c8-1777b5381140/vcredist_x86.exe Python Fix: https://www.mediafire.com/file/xdb9h0n6k3ph57e/PythonFIX.zip/file Python 3.4.3: https://www.python.org/ftp/python/3.4.3/python-3.4.3.msi
