  1. It looks like the file cannot be downloaded. Execute the command proxycfg -u in cmd. Then press Windows+R and type wuauclt /detectnow. And check the Wu.log again afterwards.
  2. Very nice! The only reason I used httpsproxy is because it had a launcher. When your launcher is officially available for download, I will probably switch to that version. I'm looking forward to it. Kind regards
  3. Yes, exactly. When I installed the certificate trust list, it sometimes worked. But as I said, only by luck! At the beginning, I could not check for updates because the patch was not yet installed. Why I was able to open the page without a proxy at that time is still a big mystery to me today, because the page requires ECDHE ciphers and these are not actually supported by Xp.
  4. Strange that it works for you and not for me. Now the question is where do the files have to go?
  5. Thank you, now the error is gone. I can't download the splash.asp?page=3 page to the wayback machine downloader. For whatever reason. Does it work for you?
  6. Just by the way I was just browsing my gallery and came across this video which I recorded on 26 December 2021. These were the first times I was able to see the page without the 0x80072EFF error and without any proxy or other programs. I had only installed any certificates and activated Tls 1.2. Strangely, I could only open the page by chance and if you opened the page in a new tab or in a new window it didn't work either. https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipN6Tetz5NMAgHMWUgGFVMLlU-xPaNzpIB3XmtKVmvVGIHEt1WhV1mtClh2zpIi7YA/photo/AF1QipOMz2Mn0O7XKqc8-w3E14KLUVjhMglEhayOevmi?key=Y2wyZ2pQMGtqQ2R5cm0xeHNuT0phOV9oc0FCdkJB
  7. IE indicates that the redirect.js cannot be accessed. Possibly this is the problem?
  8. IE5.5? I would not have thought that now. I must admit that I have never tried it with IE5.5.
  9. Yes, the splash.asp?page=3 is missing, which shows the start page of WU. There are probably more missing.
  10. Hi @AstroSkipper, how did you create the link in the start menu? I've already tried, but it always opens Chrome when I go to the link. Just by the way, when the page is written like this, it automatically adapts to the language of the computer: http://fe2.update.microsoft.com/windowsupdate/v6/default.aspx?g_sconsumersite
  11. As soon as the page is called up, the ActiveX control is used automatically. The first time I opened the page, I was asked to install the control. The problem why it stops here is that the "splash.asp" pages are not available.
  12. Thank you! Now it works. Unfortunately it stops at this point.
  13. It looks better already, but still not perfect. Unfortunately, it stops at this point and nothing more happens.
  14. If you have a freshly installed W2k, look here first: After that, take a look at this post:
  15. Thank you. Where do the files have to be copied to? Sorry, I don't know much about websites.
  16. The v6 page does not work under Win98 or ME. Try resetting all zones.
  17. I don't think so, because I can't find any images in the download folder of wayback machine downloader.
  18. But how can that be? I use the Wayback Machine downloader. Which tool do you use to download the files?
  19. If you have already installed the 4 updates, try deactivating the firewall. @mina7601 also had the error 0x80072F78 recently.
  20. Now the top line was loaded but unfortunately without images:
  21. I hosted the site in IIS 5.1 and went to default.asp. Now I get this:
  22. Unfortunately not. @xpandvistafan Did you get WU v4 running? I tried to host the page but I only get a thanks page.
