  1. A big problem is the query strings. The wayback machine downloader saves the query strings as % and strange characters. IIS cannot call them.
  2. Have you also set the security settings for "Internet" to high? If so, reset them to standard.
  3. Okay, weird. Try it with another Xp system with the same settings.
  4. Delete the two entries and add only http://update.microsoft.com.
  5. I also changed my file to redirect.asp now and tried it with xp. An error appears here now: Try it in xp. Add http://update.microsoft.com to Trusted Sites and set the security level to high, then it should work.
  6. Hello @ByQuadCore Welcome to the forum! Try default.asp?&g_sconsumersite that prevents the redirection. Iuctl.cab is installed properly for me.
  7. @LonghornXP I did some more research. You would have to add a code to default.asp that reacts to the query strings. As I said, I don't know how to do that. We need an alternative. For example, we would have to change the url in default.asp (or the js. I'm not sure) to access the individual files directly.
  8. Edit: It has to be added in the default.asp and it is very elaborate. I'm sure it's no problem for a programmer, but unfortunately I don't know how to program.
  9. I have found the problem why the splash.asp?page=3 is not callable. It's the query string and it looks like it would be a lot of work to add that. That will also be the reason why it is stuck in the one place in WU v4. We would have to do the same in v5.
  10. I have used this command: wayback_machine_downloader http://v5.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/v5consumer
  11. No, unfortunately not yet. It gets stuck in a diversion. This is just a test run. But I think we can still fix that too.
  12. Hello all, There is a big step forward! I have partially managed to get the WUv5 page up. It prompted me to install the ActiveX control. Unfortunately it gets stuck in a loop. But it is possible to access the settings and view the update history with a lot of effort!
  13. I have hosted the 134000 files but it still gets stuck at this point. Here are the files if anyone wants it: https://www.mediafire.com/file/5db5rmvygzdn7ex/v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com.zip/file
  14. I downloaded a small amount of WUv4 files today for testing. The actual page did not work, but now the Windows Update troubleshooter works. Because of this command at the end of wayback machine downloader, there are many more images in the shared folder than the one from @LonghornXP. Here are some pictures:
  15. I also have some 0KB files being downloaded. The command is called: wayback_machine_downloader http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com --to 20110222212119 --all
  16. The download of wayback machine downloader is currently at 29000 out of about 134000. I got a little insight. Error pages are now appearing if the url is not correct and when I enter results.asp I now get page=3.
  17. There is news. I am downloading the v4 files again. With the --all command after --to... over 134000 files are now downloaded. Files are appearing that I never had before. For example, the "shared" folder that was never downloaded for me now appeared. There are now also other logos, such as that of page=3. In the folders of the respective languages, a lot of files have also been added. I'm looking forward to seeing it when it's ready. Here, the "en" folder: Sorry, there's so much I can't get it all in one picture. The list is even longer. This is an excerpt.
  18. You can find it in C:\Windows\WindowsUpdate.log. The file is located at the bottom.
