is windows vista possible next to windows 11 on uefi mode?
D.Draker replied to legacyfan's topic in Windows 11
This is your theory, There's no punctuation marks, nothing that would support it. Microsoft calls them "UEFI/GPT-based hard drive", motherboard manufactures remove "/gpt-based" and it becomes just "UEFI HDD", "UEFI CD" and so on. You're not agree with the new, official MS terminology? Sue them. While at it, don't forget to deal with the Chinese, for their poor English. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/manufacture/desktop/configure-uefigpt-based-hard-drive-partitions?view=windows-11 -

First, it's not my mobo we are talking about, second - it's how MS calls them now. It's how they call them at tomshardware.com. "HDD not showing up as UEFI" https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/hdd-not-showing-up-as-uefi.2648298/ I'm not sure why such reaction, honestly. I don't even argue with you, jaclaz, many things in modern life don't make sense, but I'm not the inventor of them. And here more screenshots. Look - "UEFI hard disk". or just "hard disk". I also saw "normal HDD", too! Sue the Chinese then, maybe? Write a complaint to MS? I'm sure the new guy is also not the inventor of that nouveau terminology. -

In all modern MOBOs it's called "UEFI hard disk drive", not "UEFI/GPT-based hard drive". Some mobos just say "UEFI HDD". Here's a screengrab. -
Russian repack which is the base of this browser, didn't have that module. But perhaps I missed something and you made it from scratch? I just don't know, sorry. Dixel's 1030 build didn't have that module, I don't even know what you're talking about. Dixel's build also has all search engines and redirects removed from chrome.dll.

It's Microsoft jargon, motherboard manufacturers closely follow the nouveau English, it's like here at MSFN, no actual block function, but "ignore". Lemme help the new fella, here's the right Microsoft link. "UEFI/GPT-based hard drive ..." It's what they call now inside many (if not all) newer motherboards. What was the newest mobo you had recent encounters with, jaclaz? https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/manufacture/desktop/configure-uefigpt-based-hard-drive-partitions?view=windows-11 -
I'm not sure why you react this way, I was just trying to help Dave by answering his question! I don't even use this browser for several years, but I still have a working version of it. If @Dave-H wants it, I can share it, no problem, I'll send it to any junk/temp mail, if Dave gives me one, I don't ask/want/need Dave's real/good email. I just don't have any sharing website accounts to upload it.

This functionality can be restored by adding the errorpage.zip folder from, let's say any 12th version, I din't see any "Chinese telemetry web sites" inside that folder. There are 3 files inside. neterror.css neterror.html neterror.js None of these had "telemetry". That said, I used it from the 12th version, just extract with UniExtractor and add errorpage.zip to the root browser directory (where chrome.dll is located). I'm now adding a screenshot of the files inside. I don't think the files were modified by anyone, one of them is even from 2018, though I don't exactly remember where I got them, probably Dixel gave them to me.

Yes, totally agree, I used IG quite extensively, until they blocked my account, after I tried to login from a cafe with another IP, obviously. I don't understand how people, who often go abroad, what, they're also blocked?

Officially it doesn't, I think the question was about the official support. For 116 to start, it needs to be done like this. I also saw some reports of video decoding/playback troubles. The installer of 116 is blocked for anything below Win 10. About the video and text problems, I can't confirm or deny, I don't use Firefox myself. https://www.reddit.com/r/windows7/comments/15i9dfd/firefox_116_on_windows_7/

I remember, when I actively used 360explorer in 2021, my uBlock (that was not installed in developer mode), I simply dragged and dropped the .crx file, got itself updated to a newer version, which then acted slowly. Also, "normally" installed (crx drag and drop) extensions' update behaviour pattern is heavily dependent on the used UA.

Not only Home, unfortunately. "Windows Update Turns Itself Back On – How To Fix" "Now, here comes the question, what if Windows Update turns itself back on? This problem occurs now and then and has bothered a lot of users. Noticing this, I decide to provide some practical solutions to stop the Windows Update service." https://www.minitool.com/news/fix-windows-update-turns-itself-back-on.html

My Browser Builds (Part 4)
D.Draker replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
I never tried them myself, though I am under the impression any somewhat modern browser should do video accelerating for decades now. Esp. on Nvidia and Intel GPU. -
There's a trick not everyone knows, all unpacked extensions that were then installed in "developer mode", will never update themselves in any Chrome. This extractor will do the job, I use UniExtract 2 to extract .crx extensions. https://github.com/Bioruebe/UniExtract2 Universal Extractor 2 v2.0.0 RC 3 The method is proven to work 100%.

I can't see such official statements anywhere on the site. Nothing in the rules either.
