That's because steam makes calls to non-existent APIs. Solution ? Do not use steam . I've bought a recent game from mid. 2020 and it works fine on vanilla Vista , but the steam version doesn't work , so I got a refund. Let them feel that we are to decide what we want. So is there an end to this story ?

31st of December 2020 - works cool (even with disabled remote fonts), 1st of January 2021 - all hell breaks loose . It has nothing to do with the operating system. It's the new java , scripts and remote fonts. I'm glad it is working for the creator himself though. I've been away for some time , now logged in and everything works again , except the odd squares in the menus.

Removing telemetry is just a couple of seconds . Modding the driver is not easy , I guess . We are better off with 7/9 series , btw I noticed modded 372 files in the folder, what are they for ? Win32 began experimenting ?

Thanks for the suggestion , @XPerceniol. But there's no way I'm allowing any remote fonts. And even if I do , it won't help with the not working pop-up menus. And I'm really sorry for users who prefer (at least some privacy) on older OS and esp. users with old browsers . Good luck with the new changes.

Maybe, maybe not . He can test with these cards to see what happens. Real life scenario is a good test . I had some games that crashed with GTX980 and GTX780 (chip revision A2), strangely chip revison A1 worked alright. Have you considered modding the driver itself ? 382 seems to be a wise choice since it supports 1030.

gtx 1060 is the culprit, replace it with original titan or gtx 780/980.

I too didn't have squares with the old design on firefox 78. But you said you have them sometimes too , at least on Discord , well just wait , perhaps they will appear here. See the previous post from @XPerceniol who has them too.

Hello , I'm terribly sorry , it doesn't work for me . First off , I got something square at this place , no any kind of dots appear, second (I guess it is java driven) it doesn't bring the menu up. The old design was not broken for me. And this new Win8/10-style website design with acid colours and round icons (which kinda give me wrong associations , I don't know know maybe it's only me) I really don't like . Please don't consider this as disrespect . I'm on a fairly new Firefox 78 and Vista x64.
