Our dear mentor @win32 , please come and tell us , do you see what I see and @Dixel is right again ? I mean the patching doesn't restore the aero buttons to it's earlier beautiful style , despite what @TECHGEOK says.
-
Thank you very much , that's what I wanted to hear ! You sound very wise . I totally agree with you about this generations thingy , so I will assume @Jaguarek62 just overreacted a bit , I mean him being younger and stuff . I promise you , I will just ignore such things in the future.
-
I see , and yes , it would be a good idea to go to our own website , I'm getting a very cold welcome here anyways , I think you need to ask win32 personally . I will go. About the browsers , I know 360explorer with removed telemetry [!] could be a good alternative for using on x86 machine.
-
You went off-topic with several replies (arguing about translation) , which is clearly visible to the others . Staying on topic means not arguing about other matters too . I told ya , I heard you the first time , no need to argue , just stop , yet you starting this again and dragging me into this nonsense again . I really hope the moderators will remove all of these . It's already hard to find the info regarding the topic. This one will pollute it too . About "I'm sorry " , fine , thanks , apologies accepted , just stop writing about this , please , everyone wants to read about kernel , respect others too .

That's exactly what I did , and what I got in return , except for rudeness and total lack of respect , not to mention him going off-topic ? I'm definitely getting a very cold welcome here , now from this supervisor too . Yet I didn't do anything against the rules and was polite in every topic . Is it something personal ? Why did you just backed him up ? You took his side for what ? Not even a word or a warning for being rude and staiyng off-topic ? Well, that's a good example for other members. I simply won't take any blame for asking him to translate his local language into English . Are any other supervisors reading this ? I mean @dencorso

Thank you very much ! I even started to think , what a cold welcome I'm getting here , except for win32 and @Dixel who were helpful , now including you @asdf2345 Now back to the topic , look here https://doxygen.reactos.org/d6/d49/sdk_2lib_2drivers_2ntoskrnl__vista_2rtl_8c_source.html

OMG ! Seriously !?!? Instead of translating a couple of words , you've started to argue !? It's not about "what you guess", it's about common politeness and respect. Enough of off-topic replies , I got that the first time , you don't want to translate , fine , just calm down and stop. Thanks.

Out of respect to the others , who may wanted to help , and the rules of the English forum. Also, it didn't say that you were addressing win32 only.
-
Dear win32 , even though I'm extremely flattered that you replied to me , I think it was the new Italian guy who asked you this . I'm on Vista RTM x64 , not x86. But I think x86 is quite interesting too , so how about a new approach ? Like hexing the exes , replacing functions , or as Dixel suggested somewhere , emulating with launchers ?

And what I'm trying to say , Aero buttons are still absent even in 2.2.8 (not to mention 3.x.x.) and even with the hex edit. (do you want me to repeat again?) Yes , I agree with Dixel , they somewhat look better after hexing , some curves are added , they don't look as flat as before , but nowhere near the previous ones , that you (and most of us) wanted to see . So hexing is NOT the ultimate solution , it's better to roll-back to earlier versions , 2.2.6 something. I don't quite understand how "testing again using a maximised window" will help with the aero look in the butoons . I'm just starting to think you don't understand English well enough , or have a poor LCD display and simply can't see the obviuos difference , excuse me if I'm wrong (in advance) , but it's pretty obvious and shown well enough at Dixel's picture with the patched 3.3.x and NOT patched 2.2.x . Also , his upper frame looks prettier than the one that you provided , I mean the shape , not the colour , since it is his own customized colour. In case you don't agree or understand again , please refrain from asking me 'cause I simply can't tell you anything new apart from what I've already said , please ask other members if they see the obvious differnce at the Dixel's picture .

Welcome to the forum , warmest greetings to Italy , one of the most interesting and versatile countries , in my opininon. I agree with you , x86 rocks ! I'm just curious what do you need the ex-kernel for , if it's not a secret. Not much of those modern programs will run on Pentium 4 anyway.
-
Would you translate it to English ? This forum is in English , we simply don't understand a word.
-
Just search for Cloudfare MITM attack . And yes , it is quite easy for those without "Pentium 3" , just block tons of their IPs .
-
1 - You mean the first picture in this topic where aero is totally absent ? I can't reproduce it no matter how hard I try , Ive tested on an a clean install , without any mods. I mean , yeah , I can find a newer version where the buttons will be flat , but the aero is always working with all versions ! Known or had it youself ? If it is easily reproduced , could you show us a pic. ? I'm curious. Thanks. 2 - The screen of the user named @Dixel clearly shows that aero is working and it is transparent , in both versions, patched and unpatched , don't you see ?
-
Yes , you're right , I confirm it touches it 100% , and it also creates "MS reserved" partitons on my other HDDs as well. I just hate Windows 7 and later. I'd be glad to know how to prevent creating of "MS reserved" partitons in the future. Windows Vista RTM (without SP) seems to leave the partition alone too , like XP , in my experience .
-
Yes, I've used it too , yes it updates them , but some are still missing ( many ), so I just ported them from my friend's PC via registry, but's that not a good solution for me. Maybe they need to be updated more often ? I don't know ... Please excuse me for polluting this wonderful topic and , as the moderator , please delete this post , I just used search and this came as a result , because someone has posted the link to rootsupd.exe here earlier . Also , I'm very sorry if I make spelling and punctuation errors , my English is a bit rusty , it's my third langauage , because I've studied Dutch at school , like many of us here. If someone knows a link to a good tutorial (short and sweet) , please send me via PM , dank u .
-
Greetings , do you , by any chance , have links to other solutions ? As far as I can see, it's just a tool for generating certificates and importing them from windows 10 . Maybe I'm wrong , but I'm looking for a solution where one could be able to update them directly on Vista , whithout any involvement from win10. Vista has a new long life ahead , thanks to the extended kernel project and win32 !
-
Dixel , please show us the full comparison of something older , like 2.x.x and anything higher than 3.x.x. Thanks
-
Yes , Haswell , on my spare PC. Maybe this information will help someone , to make the bug less frequent , you need to disable Windows defender (or better remove it completely with vLite) and manually delay the boot process , yeah , add a ton of startup processes , for example . I've noticed it when booting from an old [slow] HDD makes it boot without the damn error. I don't know if that helps if you installed SP2 . My main PC is with LGA1156 and currently running SP1 , but I want to use RTM , the only thing that prevents me from doing so , that weird VRAM limit. I just don't see any useful things added in service packs , except for DX11 maybe , but yet again , I only have one game that can use it . I honestly don't understand why do I have to install updates too. They just make my PC slower. Vista RTM is the sweet spot between speed and modern windows. I had Windows Millenium before Vista , btw. Also good , despite the common bashing.
-
I've succesfully used RTM with 8GB of RAM with b85 chipset , installation went smooth [NO updates included in the ISO], I just had to unplug my stupid cardreader , cause it had no drivers and I catched a BSOD upon the installation , the only weird isuue I had , as others have mentioned earlier , some games do behave weird when (if) your GPU has a huge VRAM , like 4 - 6 GB. Stuttering , not using VRAM to the fullest . Overall , Vista RTM is so eye-candy and very fast. Logon bug happens rarely [!] . I guess the reported amount of VRAM by DxDiag is wrong and that particular games depend on it . Is there a way to fix the reported amount ?
-
That's very promising , I plan to use Vista RTM in the future . Have you ever tried it ? It really is very fast . On a 10 year old hardware it feels like win2000 in the good old days.
-
I wasn't the one who suggested linux )))))))) And I'm with you on this . I also think we should you use Windows , but everything after Vista sucks , it's my opinion and I don't want to argue, k ?
-
Hello and thank you ! Are any similar projects planned for Vista without service packs ? Like porting DX11 , fixing logon bug . I find it very fast and good for internet usage on laptops.
-
I have many of it blocked, yes there are some downsides , some sites load slower. But I prefer to block it.
-
Yes , you're right , older ones are more reliable because they used higher quality parts ,but not "high-end" , just the manufactiring process itself was better and testing after assembling too. As I wrote in the previous post , some were very good : Delta , FSP and some others. Also I think we shouldn't disregard how hot it became nowdays , esp. during summers. I bet it's so hot in Germany these years ! And not everyone have an A/C . I know electricity now is very expensive in Germany (wondering why , cause I know a guy in Austria and they have very cheap electricity) . So the result - computers parts will die sooner . The funniest part , I read soooo many articles were they say "change caps every 3-5 years or so" , yet I still have plenty of caps alive and well from the 80's - early 90's . I've salvaged them from TVs and HiFi sets . Very useful when repairing old PSUs and mobos. Even though most are 85 deg., they are better than modern 105 deg. The best are Philips and and Rubycon , Nichicon is ok too. I even have RDE caps Made in Germany , oh man , that are glorious caps ! Those were the golden days when exceptional qulity goods were made in Austria , Holland and Germany.
