ProxHTTPSProxy and HTTPSProxy in Windows XP for future use
mina7601 replied to AstroSkipper's topic in Windows XP
> Try to install the program package by using different paths! It works great! I tried at least 2 paths, 1 on the desktop, and 1 on a folder on C: drive called "Prox HTTPS", and both worked great! > Check if my configuration utility "Configure PopMenu" does its job properly in your system! Yes, it did it's job properly! > Read the documentation and check if it is complete and understandable! Yes, probably! > Try out all provided features! They all work properly and as expected! > After applying my configuration program, perform a restart and check if the programs Min2Tray and PopMenu were started automatically! Yes, they were! I also performed a logoff, and they started automatically there too! > Check if the proxy settings are activated after executing the file "StartProxy.exe", and deactivated after closing the proxy in different ways! Yes, they are! > Call up different websites and also TLS testing websites while using the proxy! They work great, and TLS testing websites display results properly!- 922 replies

I am not sure if you forgot extended kernel's recent new release or not, but, please add SETUP_07252022.cfg for July 2022 version.

Strange, in June 10, 2021, I accidentally ran the 360 Extreme Explorer installer (I don't know what was the version that has installed at that time) and it somehow did NOT install unwanted Chinese crap, and I also was able to uninstall 360 Extreme Explorer by suddenly clicking on a random button on its uninstall setup dialog, and it successfully uninstalled (despite me not understanding Chinese language). All of this was done on a XP virtual machine (just to be safe), though. How did that not happen to me at that time, I have no idea.

Okay, I tried it. At first, I extracted the msi using UniExtract (Extract method used: MsiX extraction), then unpacked cab1.cab, then went to cab1 subfolder. There were 2 executable files: wg.exe and wireguard.exe itself. Both gave "not a vaild Win32 application" error upon opening. So, I did a PE patch to both of them (by pressing 0, then enter [on keyboard] on XomPie). After the PE patch, I tried to open wg.exe, I got "The procedure entry point SetDefaultDllDirectories could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll." I then tried to open wireguard.exe too, but I also got "The procedure entry point GetQueuedCompletionStatusEx could not be located in the dynamic link library kernel32.dll." SetDefaultDllDirectories is a Windows 7 function, while GetQueuedCompletionStatusEx is a Windows Vista function. So, it seems this application only runs on Windows 7 and later. @DrunkenTanker Here, I tried it for you.

360 Extreme Explorer Modified Version
mina7601 replied to Humming Owl's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
That's nothing new to me, really. It's just that paid support (Win7 ESU) will be extended. Nothing else new as usual from M$. Yes, that's the key.- 2,340 replies

Alright, I know I am gonna be off-topic for a bit, so (sorry @AstroSkipper, but this is just to address some points here, on this topic) I actually like the POSReady updates. Indeed, as @Dave-H previously said in the topic, the good thing about them is that they provide 5 years of support. I don't install all of the POSReady updates though, just only the IE8 TLS 1.2 updates. I always install these IE8 updates, as they are important. Luckily, I don't have any programs broken (or had problems generally) with some POSReady updates installed (the IE8 TLS 1.2 ones). Perhaps the definition of "programs broke" is different, and i'm not understanding it.

Yes, I also have this showing up too in my registry. Even then, I don't think it's some sort of telemetry, at least in my opinion.
