  1. Since it seems it's a HNY thread today... I wish you all Happy New Year from Poland, it's already 90 minutes past midnight here and I hope all XP fans on MSFN and us last 5 Vista users on this planet will still happily coexist (somehow).
  2. It didn't tell me much either, but I figured it out by myself, let's hope it really works and Steam has no built in time bomb or anything like that, it already says since around 6 hours that it will stop working in 0 days... Guess we'll all see what happens in a couple hours.
  3. Where exactly do I put it? And what would happen if I don't use it? Tbh all I care about is playing games I already have installed, but not really sure if I could access them without this command... And won't Steam try to auto-update itself anyway after launching it?
  4. Try New Moon instead then: A couple forum members who are on Vista (incl. me) are using it and it works fine.
  5. Yes you're obviously right, saw what I wrote earlier on Github and copied it without thinking for a second that Navigator doesn't start with a C...
  6. @Monroe It stands for Binary OutCast Navigator (browser itself is the Navigator though, as pointed out by roy in the next post, not sure what MailNews exactly is, and Binary Outcast is its creator), it's basically a SeaMonkey fork (made by Matt Tobin as far as I know though I might be wrong), so no, if you're already using Basilisk, then there's really no point in using BOC as well.
  7. I don't know about roytam's version of it, but original Basilisk does not have e10s either:
  8. Actually multiprocess mode was available in earlier versions, it just wasn't enabled for everyone, I remember having it enabled in 52 ESR before I switched to NM in July. Also I'm pretty sure MC himself said thay they won't add e10s to PM, though I don't recall exactly why (outside of obvious reason to for PM to be more similar with older versions of Firefox).
  9. @VistaLover Thanks a lot as usual. Did what you said and it Reddit now stays in a language I set it to at all times. Also seems that the guy behind Aeromoon and a couple other themes updated them to be compatible with NM 28.3 (and he made the address bar a bit too bright but oh well) so if anyone's using any of these and Expose Noisy Tabs addon, it's no longer needed.
  10. Is it normal that whenever I visit Reddit using the old.reddit.com link, so that I could get old design instead of the sluggish new one, Reddit doesn't remember the language I set it to? It only remembers setting a different language as long as I don't turn off the browser (NM), but when I do, start it again later and visit Reddit, it revert back to English for some reason... I don't recall this behavior in Firefox 52, though I feel like it's the same way on it as well anyway. I didn't set NM to clear cookies/cache whenever I close it so it's definitely not that.
  11. Try one of the options to switch the language of Audacity mentioned here: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/languages.html
  12. I meant that in general I probably should put update catalog links alongside the KB numbers of updates that have been released, so that it'd be a bit easier for people, who read these posts, to find these updates, or to at least not make them copy & paste every update number into MS catalog, sometimes it's really painful. I'm sorry I didn't make myself clear the first time, sometimes it's hard to express what you mean in a language that's not your native one. (and I hope you get what I meant now lol, if still not... well, maybe I need more sleep, can't get enough of it lately).
  13. Looks like Microsoft has released an out of band security update for Internet Explorer - KB4483187, Update catalog link.
  14. Looks like VirtualBox 6.0 has been released yesterday, I wonder if it still runs on Vista? Didn't see anything about Vista in the changelog so there's always a chance it still does, can't check myself sadly since it's only for 64 bit OSs, and the last release for 32 bit ones is 5.2 which apparently will be supported till July 2020.
  15. Well, Brave already used Chrome's rendering engine earlier, so it's not like they're suddenly switching to it now. As for Firefox, we can only hope that they will resist as long as it's possible, otherwise more and more sites will only be tested under Chrome which means that PM may become more and more incompatible with various websites (obviously this doesn't have to happen but we never know, maybe MC will make his own chrome browser one day and give up on PM/Basilisk since it no longer will be worth to maintain them).
  16. Even straight from MS? https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows7
  17. Don't have such an option, only can change between 96 and 120 dpi and in advanced settings can set a zoom level and if Windows should use dpi scaling like in XP (or smth like that), tried changing all of these, one by one, but it didn't help.
  18. ...even though I clearly have mentioned I'm on Vista. Welp, I guess all I can do now is wait till they miraculously fix it, or till they end support for XP and Vista first. And I guess this topic can be closed, since I doubt there's anything else left to say in this regard.
  19. Okay, So I've received an answer from Steam support saying they apparently are aware of this issue and are working on a fix (which I feel like we, or rather, I won't get it before XP & Vista are thrown away), in the meantime telling me: But.. I seem to not have this option at all? Is it anyone else that does not have this option or again it's only me?
  20. There are different kinds of captcha? I meant the cancerous Google one, which always takes me at least 3 attempts to solve, even if I'm 100% sure I've picked all pics they want me to pick.
  21. @blackwingcat I see that there's a significant amount of differences between the most recent version and v10, but if you say that modifying current version is too costly (I get it that it's simply too much work), then yeah, v10 is fine too . And thank you.
  22. As with most other things, probably because of low % of people who play LoL on XP and Vista.
  23. Okay, so updates for this month seem to be: KB4471325 - Security Monthly Quality Rollup for Windows Server 2008 KB4471319 - Security Only Quality Update for Windows Server 2008 KB4471990 - Security and Quality Rollup for .NET Framework 3.5 SP1, 4.5.2, 4.6 (and 4.6.1) for Windows Server 2008 SP2 KB4470640 - Security and Quality Rollup for .NET Framework 4.6 (and 4.6.1) for Windows Server 2008 SP2 KB4470637 - Security and Quality Rollup for .NET Framework 4.5.2 for Windows Server 2008 SP2 KB4471102 - Security and Quality Rollup for .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 for Windows Server 2008 SP2 KB4471984 - Security Only Update for .NET Framework 3.5 SP1, 4.5.2, 4.6 (and 4.6.1) for Windows Server 2008 KB4470500 - Security Only Update for .NET Framework 4.6 (and 4.6.1) for Windows Server 2008 KB4470493 - Security Only Update for .NET Framework 4.5.2 for Windows Server 2008 KB4470633 - Security Only Update for .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 for Windows Server 2008 KB4470199 - Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 9 for Windows Server 2008 I think that's all of them, and seems they have decided to make 2 more .NET rollups in case people want either only updates for 3.5 or only for later ones? Or did I just unnecessarily post too many updates? Also, as usual, it's better if you wait at least a week before installing them, we never know what MS might have messed up in any of the updates this time. And I hope Mike won't be mad at me for stealing his job this 1 time lol.
