My Browser Builds (Part 1)
Tamris replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
Just download a language pack from here: https://addons.palemoon.org/language-packs/ And set the general.useragent.locale pref in about:config to es-AR (since I'm assuming you want to install a Argentinian Spanish LP.) You also have more detailed instructions there. And whenever NM's version changes to 28.4, you'll need to follow @VistaLover's instructions on what to do in order to have the LP working again (except the Step 1 to download a polish language pack obviously): Alternatively you can wait till there are 28.4 compatible, RC versions of language packs available here: https://github.com/JustOff/pale-moon-localization/releases -
No Vista Home x64 on the "What OS do you use" list?
Tamris replied to Tamris's topic in Site & Forum Issues
Probably that you simply don't want to share what version of Windows you're using. -

And that's a good suggestion actually, added an "extra" section to my update list.

Thank you for letting us know. Should I add it to my previous post? Don't know why I asked, added direct download links to my previous post.

My Browser Builds (Part 1)
Tamris replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
Seems language packs aren't compatible with newest NM yet again... running 28.3 rc3 polish language pack, and NM just throws an error and reverts back to default language after that. -
My Browser Builds (Part 1)
Tamris replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
Because Discord's use of your mic requires WebRTC which is not present in NM at all, try using Basilisk for that instead. (and read the topic @VistaLover has provided a link to, one of his posts there to be exact, which explains what you need to do to get it working) -
So... Steam updated itself to a version released on January 4th, and... it still works, I'm able to still browse the Steam Store and download games I, uhm... bought. At this point I don't know how to explain why does it still work, and even still get new updates (despite having the -noverifyfiles parameter added to Steam's shortcut, which I think I can remove now), but I guess I shouldn't worry about it and just enjoy it while I still can.

Well, it's that time of the month again, and only a year away from Vista's true EoL (or EoS, as @dencorso has said about XP, though not sure if it applies to Vista as well)... And as usual, I recommend waiting at least a week before any of these, because we never know, if Microsoft won't pull any of these updates and upload it (or even more than one of them) again in a couple days. So, without further ado, let's finally get to what you all have come here for: KB4480968 - Security Monthly Quality Rollup for Windows Server 2008 - 32-bit | 64-bit KB4480957 - Security Only Quality Update for Windows Server 2008 - 32-bit | 64-bit KB4480965 - Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 9 for Windows Server 2008 SP2 - 32-bit | 64-bit KB4481486 - Security and Quality Rollup for .NET Framework 2.0, 3.0, 4.5.2, 4.6/4.6.1 for Windows Server 2008 SP2 - 32-bit and 64-bit update catalog link KB4480062 - Security and Quality Rollup for .NET Framework 2.0, 3.0 for Windows Server 2008 SP2 - 32-bit | 64-bit KB4480059 - Security and Quality Rollup for .NET Framework 4.5.2 for Windows Server 2008 SP2 - 32-bit | 64-bit KB4480055 - Security and Quality Rollup for .NET Framework 4.6/4.6.1 for Windows Server 2008 SP2 - 32-bit | 64-bit KB4481487 - Security Only Update for .NET Framework 2.0, 3.0, 4.5.2, 4.6/4.6.1 for Windows Server 2008 SP2 - 32-bit and 64-bit MS update catalog link KB4480084 - Security Only Update for .NET Framework 2.0, 3.0 for Windows Server 2008 - 32-bit | 64-bit KB4480076 - Security Only Update for .NET Framework 4.5.2 for Windows Server 2008 SP2 - 32-bit | 64-bit KB4480072 - Security Only Update for .NET Framework 4.6/4.6.1 for Windows Server 2008 SP2 - 32-bit | 64-bit Extra/optional update: KB4487354 - Update for Windows Server 2008 SP2 for x84/x64 based Systems - 32-bit | 64-bit I think that's all for this month (for now at least), except 2 updates for Itanium based systems only, but I don't think it's necessary to post them here. I also hope you all will like this new way of posting lists of updates which are available for Vista, and which I will try to use from now on. I also apologize for no direct links to bigger .net rollups but direct downloads of those are sadly unavailable. Added KB4487354, thanks to @mike_shupp for finding it.

Last versions of software for Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008

@VistaLover Well, I don't browser XP forums that much outside of the NM thread, so I didn't know it was posted already :(.- 1,238 replies

Last versions of software for Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008
Tamris replied to WinClient5270's topic in Windows Vista
While I found version 2.49.5: http://www.wg9s.com/comm-esr/ Found this link on SeaMonkey's site while looking for nightly builds, but not sure how official this version is... (and if it's compatible with Vista but it should be)- 1,238 replies

Maybe try this: A while ago I've had an XP VM too and following the steps on Microsoft's websites didn't help me at all as well, only had TLS 1.0 available, but after running this, TLS 1.1 and 1.2 finally appeared in IE's settings.

I don't know if it will work with this game, but... have you tried pasting Steam.dll in 7DTD's main folder? A while ago I have had a similar error appearing in a game called Jade Empire and that solved the issue, maybe it will work with that game too...

My Browser Builds (Part 1)
Tamris replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
Anyone else have an issue, when NM starts and about:home is set as home page, the search bar that is present there, for a second after starting the browser, looks like this?: All I know is that it came with last week's NM release. And also I know it's a very minor issue since it doesn't really affect my browsing experience, but I just want to know if it's something on my end that's suddenly causing this, or if it's something with the browser itself. -
Last versions of software for Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008
Tamris replied to WinClient5270's topic in Windows Vista
@VistaLover Thanks for another informative post. Well yeah, I spoke too soon, got too excited after seeing it works on XP and above without actually checking the browser myself... But! There's still hoping that whoever's working on this project, will fix most of the issues sooner or later and Otter maybe will become an actually viable alternative for NM/Basilisk in the future... And yes I'm aware there's no installer version yet, but at least some part of my last post will be valid in the future, when they actually make one...- 1,238 replies

Tamris replied to WinClient5270's topic in Windows Vista
Also, it seems that a couple days ago a new version of Otter browser was released, a first stable one even. While the installer only works on W7 or above, they also have released a .zip version that's meant for XP and newer, so looks like we have an alternative to New Moon and Basilisk that will also be getting new updates in the future.- 1,238 replies

Last versions of software for Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008
Tamris replied to WinClient5270's topic in Windows Vista
@i430VX Weird... I've already seen some people claiming on YouTube they no longer can open Steam under Vista, but for me it works like it did before, for you, an XP user,it works too... I really don't get it.- 1,238 replies

Last versions of software for Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008
Tamris replied to WinClient5270's topic in Windows Vista
So, it's been 42 minutes after the "Steam will stop working on Windows Vista in X days" usually went down by 1 day. and... Steam still works just fine, the message still says that Steam will stop working in 0 days and that's pretty much it, no difference since yesterday. Not sure if it's because of the -noverifyfiles thingy, but I guess we don't have to worry for now?- 1,238 replies
