  1. HashTab has support for SHA-256. Just received the latest updroots.sst (dated 2017-02-28). All my hashes now match mixit's above.
  2. authroots.sst and roots.sst (EDIT: updroots.sst too) were updated by Microsoft on 2017/02/28 and released today in March's scheduled release. Those using heinoganda's Cert_Updater.exe should run it ASAP. Others needing a redistributable RootsUpd.exe should follow his instructions for creating their own, or PM me for an updated EXE file.
  3. How do you know it is not working, Mr.Presario? If your test criterion is that you're not receiving Patch Tuesday updates from the Microsoft Update website, then you're not alone. Nobody is receiving February's updates because Microsoft cancelled them this month for all operating systems.
  4. 108 were just discovered, glnz. When Microsoft updates its files, Heinoganda's tool will download and install them.
  5. They never existed for me, w2k4eva. The best I can come up with for an informational link is this: https://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/ScopedViewInline.aspx?updateid=8a952d9b-eb56-45f6-880a-f98f289386e0 The update can still be downloaded from the Microsoft Update Catalog and the Windows Update website.
  6. authroots.sst, delroots.sst and updroots.sst were updated by Microsoft on 2016/11/12 and released today in November's scheduled release. Those using heinoganda's Cert_Updater.exe should run it ASAP. Others needing a redistributable RootsUpd.exe should follow his instructions for creating their own, or PM me for an updated EXE file.
  7. Correct, PCBONEZ .NET is not on any of my media for XPx64 (SP1 or SP2) or Win2k3x64SP2 (R1).
  8. Define "integrated." W2k3x64R2 has an installer for .NET 2.0 named NETFX64.EXE in the "CMPNENTS\R2" folder that can be called from the Optional Components wizard. XPx64 and "R1" editions of Win2k3x64 do not include this installer.
  9. Additionally, the following entries have changed between KB3182203 and KB3192321: HKLM,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Time Zones","TZVersion",0x00010001, 02,04,e0,07 --> 00,05,e0,07 HKLM,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Time Zones","KBLast",0x00010001, 02,04,e0,07 --> 00,05,e0,07 HKLM,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Time Zones\Turkey Standard Time","Display",0x00000000, "(GMT+02:00) Istanbul" --> "(GMT+03:00) Istanbul" HKLM,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Time Zones\Turkey Standard Time","TZI",0x00000001, 88,ff,ff,ff,00,00,00,00,c4,ff,ff,ff,00,00,0a,00,00,00,05,00,04,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,03,00,00,00,05,00,03,00,00,00,00,00,00,00 --> 4c,ff,ff,ff,00,00,00,00,3c,00,00,00,00,00,03,00,00,00,05,00,03,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,01,00,05,00,01,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00 HKLM,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Time Zones\Turkey Standard Time\Dynamic DST","2016",0x00000001, 88,ff,ff,ff,00,00,00,00,c4,ff,ff,ff,00,00,0a,00,00,00,05,00,04,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,03,00,00,00,05,00,03,00,00,00,00,00,00,00 --> 4c,ff,ff,ff,00,00,00,00,3c,00,00,00,00,00,03,00,00,00,05,00,03,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,01,00,05,00,01,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00 HKLM,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Time Zones\Turkey Standard Time\Dynamic DST","LastEntry",0x00010001, e0,07,00,00 --> e1,07,00,00
  10. Was wondering if those .NET updates would be available. Couldn't access them last night from the catalog.
  11. A registry compare shows that many of the registry entries were changed (342 relevant entries in the keys below), but none were added or removed. Perhaps MS hasn't addressed WoSign yet. If not, maybe it will later. HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SystemCertificates\AuthRoot\Certificates HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SystemCertificates\ROOT\Certificates
  12. Thanks for the updated FF49 configs, mixit. Works for me in XPx64 using 32-bit FF49.0.1.
  13. v23.0.0.162 works on 32-bit IE8 under XP x64. Tested Flash games on cartoonnetwork.com. Specifically: http://www.cartoonnetwork.com/games/magiswords/hoversword-hustle/index.html?atclk_hp=hpg_Games_Featured_Mighty-Magiswords_Hoversword-Hustle
  14. NSFW: Claymation gore and violence. Gratuitous VCR abuse.
  15. Visit the Microsoft Update Catalog and search for KB3184122 using the following link in Internet Explorer: https://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Search.aspx?q=KB3184122 Click the Products column header twice and Add the "Windows XP Embedded" security update. Click "view basket," then Download.
  16. The trend is definitely to move away from user-serviceability. What we'll end up with are refrigerator repairmen with specializations, which will charge extra for their services because they require "specialized training." The field of medicine is a great example of this. Costs here in the US have ballooned so much that you need insurance to get treatment for the simplest of maladies. Can't afford it otherwise.
  17. Avast free works well enough for me with a minimal install (File, Web and Mail Shields + Rescue Disk). Running on WinXP x64, Win7 x64, and Win10 x64 using one license for my home LAN. If you want advanced features, you should tell us what you're looking for.
  18. Before this year, the common root update months were March and November. Let's see if their pattern holds...
  19. My last post in that thread was 2016-04-26. I have a script scheduled to check every day @14:00 UTC. There have been no updates since then. Off topic: The forum's post linking code is borked again. None of my links work anymore except for the one in this thread.
  20. Is anybody maintaining a list of updates that need to be installed to keep .NET up to date in XP x86? If so, would somebody please link me to it? If not, I have just tested a list of my own for .NET 3.5 SP1 that includes the latest POSReady .NET updates. Once I've finished lists for .NET 2.0 SP2 and .NET 4.0 Full I'll consider creating a new thread for them., if somebody hasn't already done so.
  21. Seeing the same thing on Win7. WinXP is not affected. Not easier, but certainly faster than waiting an hour or more... Check the Security Bulletin Summary for this month and access the individual downloads from there.
  22. Correct, bluebolt. For some reason, Microsoft decided to re-release these old updates without changing the binaries in any way.

  24. Not the only HDMI VCR... In July 2011 I found a Samsung DVD-VR375 online for 130 USD. Works well with the other Samsung equipment I bought earlier that year (UN40D6420UFXZA, HT-D6730WZA). Also have a Sony SLV-N71 from 1997 that I purchased as part of an entertainment system. It still works perfectly--even connected to a modern LED TV. As a backup, there's an old TV/VCR combo unit that my sister gave me. It's very low quality and only plays and records in one-channel audio, but it has never eaten a VHS tape.
