  1. @pointertovoid... Avast 2017 has been tested on XP since 07/11/2016 and it will be supported through 2017. It still has bug, but they are going to be fixed
  2. UK’s Nuclear Submarines run Windows XP. "Installed in 2008 and then saving £22 million due to using commercial off the shelf technology rather than proprietary software, the Submarine Command System Next Generation (SMCS NG) powers the HMS Vanguard, Victorious, Vigilant, and Vengeance, four of the deadliest ships ever built, featuring eight Trident II missiles and a total of 40 nuclear warheads. Together they form UK’s entire nuclear deterrent, being ever ready to respond to a surprise nuclear attack on the United Kingdom. We have not heard of any problem with the system over the years, and it's based on Windows XP OS".
  3. Yep you are my buddies U.U xD
  4. Now I remember! CS4 is the last version to work with SP2 and CS6 with SP3. Sorry! xD
  5. @Dclem... I downloaded the Microsoft Baseline Security advisor, but I have a few questions: 1) It asks for an ip address when I click "scan"; do I have to insert the external IP address of my computer? And what for? 2) it's working in Windows XP, but does it find POS Ready updates (thanks to the registry entry) or is it stuck with old XP updates?
  6. I'm gonna start: Latest supported version (Windows XP): Filezilla 3.8.0 Xmedia Recode 3.2.7.1 Visual Studio 2010 .NET Framework 4.0 ffmpeg- 20150525-git-8ce564e Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 Adobe Photoshop CS4 (Service Pack 2) CS6 (Service Pack 3) Chrome 49 Unity 5.2.4 f1
  7. Yes, especially the full moon; that's mandatory. XD Serious mode: on. I didn't have the chance to try it yet, but I'm gonna try it soon.
  8. Hi! I have to deal with a lot of C and C++ DLLs and executables on a daily basis, and I would like to know whether there is a way to know which assembly optimisations have been used by the compiler or not. I would like to know whether a program uses SSE, SSE2, SSE3, SSE4, AVX or other assembly optimisations (i.e which instructions sets are required). This way I will be able to know whether I need to recompile a certain program or not (depending on the platform). Thank you in advance.
  9. The NHS uses Citrix Neighbourhood to fill forms about people. Citrix is hosted by Windows Server 2003 and the computers used to access it are all running Windows XP East Sussex Healthcare has 413 Windows XP machines, Sheffield's Children's hospital with 1'290, and St Thomas' NHS Trust in London has 10'800 computers running XP.
  10. "A new report reveals that the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) is still running Windows XP on 19,500 computers out of their 27,000 total units. In the meantime, the Police keeps paying millions of pounds to Microsoft for custom support, as Microsoft keeps providing patches and security fixes for Windows XP according to a deal that expires in April 2017. It’s not yet clear if authorities plan to extend this deal or not". Still, I would really like to know whether their updates are different from ours (issues affecting XP that don't affect POS units).
  11. Good mood? Yep, especially when I read these news before going to bed...
  12. @HoppaLong... actually, you can use more than 3 GB of RAM in XP X86.
  13. Got mine as well this evening. Everything fine.
  14. Yep. I don't wanna "spam" any other forum other than MSFN, but try to ask in biosmod forum (Google it). They are specialised in BIOS modding, unlocking BIOS menus and making custom BIOS. Maybe (maybe) they can make it for you.
  15. @Windows 2000 probably "just" inf modding. Anyway, there's no way to guarantee that a certain card will work with just inf modding (editing the inf file): the only way to know whether it works or not, it's the "empirical way" (i.e try). In other words, it's not worth to "risk" buying a card without knowing whether it's gonna work or not (especially if it's an expensive one).
  16. In other words: if they'll see enough people using Firefox on XP, then maybe they'll continue issuing security updates after April 2018; am I right?
  17. Google today announced it is ending support for its Google Drive desktop app for Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows Server 2003 on January 1st, 2017, which is not such a big deal 'cause I personally use the web version only. Still, I don't like that Google doesn't care about XP anymore, but considering what they did with Chrome, I expected this.
  18. Uh.... I don't know how they got that number, but the article was published in the BT website (British Telecom), so I kinda trust them. (Unofficial picture of course xD)
  19. Ok, so... Microsoft received a report at the very end of the scan with our system information and the fact that the Malware removal tool didn't encounter any threat... so... what? I mean, it's not a big deal, is it? It's Microsoft, they shouldn't be surprised that we are still running XP, as I'm sure they already know that we are getting POS updates.
  20. Today it's the Windows XP 15th Anniversary and it has been revealed that "181 million people are still using Windows XP". Well, congratulations to you all; we are far from being alone running XP in this community only xD
  21. @Windows 2000... just make sure that you enable the PAE via the patch "fix 128" or the Chinese one. https://mega.nz/#!ndsRFT4L!nOb6r6rq4kN7WcIsnrNOUYqAAclfu2zv3u2hTZS5eXk Instructions for the Chinese one are in MSFN; feel free to PM me or @Dibya for istructions about fix 128 instead.
  22. Well, in a 32bit system with the PAE enabled there's the HAL between the kernel and the hardware so that programs run in 32bit but the system can access 64 GB of RAM via 36bit thanks to the hardware abstraction layer, so I would say that it actually works for the 32bit OS.
  23. @Stefan43... you can do whatever you want with your personal computer, no one will ever bother you about anything

@TuMaGoNx... good! could you send me your build via PM? I think I know what's going on. (and why it can't connect).
