  1. I have all files and all those mentioned are loaded into memory on startup from RPCSS.EXE. DIGEST 6.0.2900.5512; MSAPSSPC 6.0.0.7755; MSNSSPC 6.1.1825; RPCSS.EXE and IEXPLORE.EXE uses DIGEST NEGOTIAT MSAPSSPC and MSNSSPC. KMPLAYER.EXE uses NORMALIZ 6.00.5441.0 I have no preference to which file is chosen except consideration could be shown to memory impact. Kexbasen nearly always gets shifted in memory because of clashing with my Msvcrt could Kexbasen base memory address be shifted up a little bit? AdvSplash.dll was in the temp folder after the file check extracted the install files.
  2. Zmultimedia, I assume you mean wxHexEditor. Download vs 0.23 as vs 0.24 has the errors as I explained which make it unworkable. Try not to use the letter "t" or "T" in a search in vs 23 as it may not find it. Also if search has reached end of file then the program has to be restarted before starting a new search.
  3. I believe the Google server blocks IE6 if any system settings were altered I do not know. I would delete all history cookies temp Internet files the works but I do not think it will work. I tried installing IE5.5 after IE6 and did not notice any difference in 2017 (roughly) so I do not think it could access HTTPS. We trust web servers but they could send what they want. ThePirateBay.org home page can still be accessed with IE6 for some reason. Base memory addresses of the files could make a speed difference as less files needed shifting in RAM the better. Browseui is an important file and will have to be changed to 5.5 for proper confirmation about HTTPS. Can be done off-line with startup floppy REN for rename DEL for delete or with another boot drive. Yes I think regsvr32 %WinDir%\system\browseui.dll will be a good idea if as you say IE5.5 is installed but first regsvr32 %WinDir%\system\browseui.dll -u of IE6 one.
  4. I have all TTFs installed that came with win7. My largest TTF is ArialUni.ttf at 22.7 MB came from XP. All fonts are referenced/installed into registry that are in the font folder. FONs are shown as active in MSinfo but TTFs are not shown as active. Collection fonts TTCs have no assignment in registry and not written into the shell32.dll as far as I know and therefore not compatible. Charmap.exe tick advanced view, character set unicode, and if viewing Microsoft YaHei for example the last character is U+FFEE: Halfwidth White Circle. I have moved this section to a more related topic here. I tried installing Burp using the exe and it baulked at installing JRE1.8, error in msvcr100, acknowledging this the installation then continues and finishes. It runs with JRE1.6_31 JVM, the install directory of Burp JRE can be deleted. I could not get JRE1.7 set as a system runtime but I have had it installed as a user runtime. After installing Burp 1.7.06 my Opera profile was set to original startup settings. vs 1.7.32 can be installed directly from the exe, later vs needs to be copied across from other OS. Latest vs still works with Java 1.6. jce_policy-6.zip will be for JRE1.6. Works with KEX4.5.2 but not latest KEX18. The proxy port 8080 when used in browser has certificate errors, "The presented certificate has an unknown Certificate Authority". What do I do? Latest BabelPad did not open any files (from file open menu) in my font folder, no comparison to WinMerge. BabelMap win9x version is a font program WinMerge is a file comparison program and I find it very useful. I could not get BabelMap to show characters of single fonts where as Character Map does? I can use/post/edit on Facebook with my ME system with Opera 12.02.
  5. ~♥Aiko♥Chan♥~ If Html5Test shows ticks and crosses etcetera in Opera 12 or FF9 then it is not for lack of fonts but more of a out of memory error. Later versions of Mozilla beyond 9 operated faster adding more resources to video driver but also froze screen. Best I had in the day for CometBird 11 was able to view up to 4 min approx Youtube videos on auto play any longer video and it froze. This was experimenting with a combination of vs 9 and vs 11 files within omni.ja. The XUL.dll created an overload in memory allocation somewhere to do with hardware driving in my estimation. Some people had trouble with FF10 (in win2K I assume) and likened it to a memory leak. ABCDEFG Did you read my post on https://msfn.org/board/topic/173233-kernelex-45-core-updates-45201617/?do=findComment&comment=1163422 about this. There are 2 posts starting about 3/4 down on page.
  6. For Javascript pages we need a Mozilla based browser for win9x and KM74 is. Yandex Disk works fine with CometBird 9 buttons and the like work and looks good, I did not use download though. I chose TTF fonts from win7 win8 and ReactOS. Boot up with boot log text to see if font installed or failed. Also opening font can give clue if it will work and charmap.exe from win2k or similar OS can be an upgrade if getuname.dll and C_G18030.DLL is copied across as well; needs also msvcr90.dll. Check files with DW before running. Marlett cannot be updated as it will be incompatible with the OS. I am using a 2003 version though, it is essentially the same and same as XP, compare with WinMerge, (NOHEAP best, with no tool bar), some TTFs have no copyright signings. Fonts that are in use cannot be updated so use WinMerge to copy across off-line otherwise only fonts that are installed on the booted drive will show on the off-line drive and opening font folder of other drive is not safe, can modify reg due to the auto functioning of font folder. WinMerge will need mfc90U with NT40 minimum setting. I cannot pin down the exact fonts that Html5test uses but Wingdings contain ticks. I have 3 versions of Wingdings named Wingdings Wingdings2 and Wingdings3 they have different font mappings. Latest Webdings vs 5.00. I think you meant 'both Opera and KM can access MEGA', is that correct? because Opera views mega.com good.
  7. ~♥Aiko♥Chan♥~ I have turned off some settings in the omin.jar of CometBird like accessibility settings. Not all tested settings on HtmlTest are a necessary to have or have enabled. I must point out 12.02 has TLS1.2 just tick the box. Looks like you are missing some fonts. Opera 12.02 downloads YouTube videos that play, double right click then select Save Video. It is in the form of VP8 + Vorbis. If duolingo.com is opened in Opera 12.02 on winME there is no rendering of the page. If it is opened with CometBird 9, FF9, the home page is still OK. Site has gone though several updates since 2017.
  8. Yes I checked 4.5.2 and USP10 is set disabled. Thanks for showing how to debug. Would wxHexEditor be easier for disassemble view of the libraries? It needs KEX winXP settings also msvcrt has to be not disabled so I give it a separate copy of msvcrt with winME settings. GNU General Public License. https://sourceforge.net/projects/wxhexeditor/files/wxHexEditor/ vs 0.23. 0.24 has a few bugs like KB letter T not working and search not finding correctly. I finally got to look at debugging. There is no errors with DW for AdvSplash.dll or any other file. How did you determine that SetLayeredWindowAttributes not exported from User32.dll and stubbed? by KEX was the problem? Win10 this text 04 70 00 2 shows as a down load link for some reason in Edge on my system?
  9. I updated core.ini with the missed Aliases as you said and deleted DCFG1, WIN98, and WINXP. All seemed OK until I opened CometBird - (Mozilla 9). There was no text displayed. This is a typical error when USP10 is not working properly for Mozilla. I do not think that USP10 was set disabled with 4.5.2 from what I remember. LH5048 USP10 had to be set disabled were as LH4093 and MS Office XP 1.420.2600.5969 did not need be disabled.
  10. Core.ini after updating causing problems with CometBird which relies on USP10.dll for text. I use USP10 KEX disabled. I have gone back to using KE18 core.ini and is OK again. I may have not updated correctly but followed instructions and was only program I noticed not working correctly. Tested KMP installer with core.ini KEX18 same result as later ones.
  11. Yes Delta I looked up the dictionary meaning of cumulative not knowing Microsoft's meaning. *\mfc*u.dll still not working in reg. KMP install: once finished the file integrity check, message says KMP exe made an 'error in unknown' using settings 2K and above. When I use the ApiLog testing with 2K then 1 ffe77dd5 [KMPLAYER-4-0-2-6-MULTI-WIN.EXE]004061fe:<USER32.DLL>CharNextW = 40f118 cycles endlessly incrementing last number after =. If I baulk the install by starting up another program then the error message comes up and full ApiLog as below. The NT6a setting install test is below as well. It takes a long time to get to the splash screen after the file check when ApiLog is running. I have got the win.ini setup with msdev.exe, and have updated core.ini. Is there any other debugging that can be done? KMPLAYER-4-0-2-6-MULTI-WIN caused an invalid page fault in module <unknown> at eb9e:00000002. 12. @someguy25, KernelEx has been cumulative since KexBeta18.7z located on p33 make sure all files from 4.5.2 are updated with these first except KernelEx.dll which needs to be from KexBeta17.7z located on p30 if you are testing Kex18 as you said. Having install trouble with KEX20 on anything above NT6a on an install that only requires KEX enabled before. KMPlayer any vs 3+ installed on any setting before except disabled. Is this an expected outcome? 13. Remember M2378111.EXE has to be installed before the unofficial WMP10 if you want to use the 4510 wmp.dll. I would not encourage the use of some WMP updates as the right clicking of video created a headache. The playback preview meant that videos could not be renamed or deleted and it clashed with a version of Haali splitter. I had to delete reg settings to remove the preview idea.
  14. K-Meleon may not be able to decode VP9 as with other earlier Mozilla web browsers. VLC downloads Icecast but I have had no success with YouTube on WinME. Flash used to pick up system codecs as I had the DIVX splash screen enabled on their H264 decoder and one day it showed on a video from YouTube. Divxs' beginings were triggered from not being able to play ASF v 7 in WMP in later OSs. The sample video in WinME used this format and I found an ASF decoder from klmcodec159.exe which allowed playback in later OSs. (It was not this file earlier than this and earlier than 3.45) H264 and H265 are not free for software distributors this is why there is only Theora and Webm video decoders located within most older free browsers. AC1 is the newest free codec that is slightly more efficient than H265 but is early days. Security settings do not stop malware being downloaded and do not protect servers from malware or cyber attacks but do protect data in transit between server and client. TLS 1.2 was defined in 2008 and TLS 1.3 in Aug 2018. Servers choose the highest server/client mutual TSL protocol available and the best mutual cypher. SSL2 and SSL3 are depreciated so I untick SSL3. About SourceForge with 12.18 on XP the cypher chosen is TLS v1.2 128 bit AES GCM ([256, 2048] bit ECDHE_ECDSA/SHA-256). Some sites rely on JavaScript for page displaying eg Duolingo. FF9 had better compatibility with this site than prior Mozilla versions. Mozilla XUL driver is just that with over 2000 functions. The code was in the jar file and did not work uncompressed. Use jar.exe in Java JDK to compress back to jar (-cf ..\\omni.jar *) FF9 was the last one to use jar later vs used ja which is associated with Java 1.7 and above. Renaming ja to jar or visa versa is not compatible. The update idea copying 12.18 to 12.02 may not be fully functioning though I do not see why RC4 cannot be prevented with the old opera.dll. The SSL3/TLS1 options are the same. There are not many sites not working. Siria your one character only view in right click menu will probably be to do with the registry. Try saving a file with WinWord if you can. It may have stemmed from a buffer over-run with the icon cache. The only solution I have is to go back to a reg save that was prior to the incidence. I open WinME to safe mode on a roughly monthly basis to reset icon and font caches. This will mitigate icon errors that can eventually occur. I have just found out that the one character right click menu may stem from clear type. Once the registry gets around to clear typing the context menus. I went back 2 weeks as the WinWord save as (1 character error) had crept in. It is OK now but the message windows and context menus etcetera are not clear typed just yet. *EDIT: this was a error caused with riched20.dll; 5.50.99.2070 OK but Maxthon 2.5 needs 5.40.11.2220*
  15. The new ones are VP9 the old ones were VP8 now the old desktop ones are AVC. It would be a big job to convert them all to VP9 but perhaps this may happen.
  16. Most bands so far Test Your Metal www.youtube.com/watch?v=2yctXV3uHBs Crying of the Sun www.youtube.com/watch?v=tKpvzjzCQXg No baulk on starting up now, must have been cache sorting its self out.
  17. Some good news, Youtube only works with Opera with new videos, my older music videos will not play tried many times. I thought it was odd as before the player said a year ago approx that it was not supported just yet. It is the webm decoder gstwebmdec.dll streamer file that doesn't work swapped all but webm decoder all is OK. 12.18 2016 gstreamer.dll works for sure. I was sure it was working with the new streamer files before. The other possibility is the most streamed files work. When opening YouTube for me I have to load the first video then click on video on the side line up and then everything is OK auto plays excellently, but soon as I line up an old 2016 video then it I get the TV-snow.
  18. I think it is worth investigating why you can where I and others can't. You can see what files are loaded with Code Stuff Starter or Process Explorer. Starter needs psapi.dll replaced with KEX one. Process Explorer v10.2 Sysinternals 10.2 here Win9x/ME one at bottom of page. If Opera works then so should other browsers like CometBird9 as I was viewing with full screen. Right click video twice to bring up CometBirds context menu then play video or something like that then show full screen. It does not show context now as the videos will not play. I found Opera worked faster after installing Mozilla so caution I would have a working backup before altering anything. It used to be every time I changed a system file that was in a in the RAM load eg ImageHlp YouTube knew about it and said your browser is no longer supported. Remember when Edge browser first started up it had to go through the Google server to reach YouTube? www.youtube.com did not work unless www.google.com then search for YouTube first time use then worked from then on.
  19. Dave-H, I can only get the TV snow delivery, it is of good frame rate though mainly due to settings as mentioned here . Your YouTube results might be delicate though in that a system setting change may produce similar results as mine? When you click on a video do you get TV snow at any stage, if not, you can play YouTube videos. This is indeed a major achievement. There is doubt about https://www.howsmyssl.com/ as if you turn off TLS 1.0 then the results are the same. It also suggests TLS 1.2 is the best but doesn't TLS 1.3 continually change the key (I don't really know)? If you push your date of your system back a day with TLS 1.0 unticked then HowIsMySSL web site is unreachable because of the handshaking certificate time differences. Use the drop down to view why showing the details. If you then tick TLS1.0 with the time out a day then the site is reachable again. If I turn off all 128 bit encryptions as they say then their site is unreachable and MSFN does not work properly. Not all data on web pages must have the same encryption I have to have most 128 bit cyphers selected for some sites. When I check MSFN with Opera Info it says I am using TLS v1.2 256 bit AES (2048 bit DHE_RSA/SHA-256) The system key limiter file is not loaded. WinME was quite safe as all ports were closed where as Win2K Pro had many ports open and I had to use Port Blocker to make usable back in the day. The days of dial-up had no router, just modem. Here is a good port checking site. It has Opera green security lock www.grc.com
  20. In settings; preferences; security; advanced; security protocols. Desktop version as in the short cut on page 1 move up a level on the web page. Opera mini and mobile are not compatible. Unless you can get the portable version of 12.02 then it will not work I believe. Have to install Opera_1100_int_Setup.msi first, then make sure you choose your directory of choice and tick use as default browser. The setup will baulk at not having ouniansi.dll but it doesn't matter and does not use it. Once installed and established reboot etcetera, then install 12.02 in the same directory/update as 11 but it is important that the default browser is ticked again as it does not work until ticked with 12.02. So custom install here too. Opera_1100_int_Setup.msi was the original setup file I believe. Install and run 12.02 with KernelEx NT2K settings.
  21. I did the update before YouTube videos stopped playing and Opera was working fine but did stop before CometBird so I might be wrong but it would have been the first thing I checked at the time after doing the update? I have written the date YouTube stopped in MSFN somewhere unless I edited out. I think it was November 17. Dav-H could you show the URL address of a video or 2 that works with the 12.02 gstreamer and did you use the original gstreamer.dll or 12.18? I know that flash still works with 12.18 check that gstreamer files are the ones that are used or flash. Speed Dial has to go through for eg redir.opera.com/speeddials/accuweather for place holders other wise the place holder displays the web site that is in an non shrunken state. Once going through redir.opera.com, Speed Dial looks OK but place mat size should be within the border I think, move mouse cursor over place mat to see what I mean. If we look at the latest Opera Speed Dial it just uses icons. Speed Dial is definitely a local page as the place holders have to updated manually or auto timed to update.
  22. I did not notice a difference with speed dial until you pointed it out. I was not using it. I have SSL3 unticked in security protocols, perhaps the update is not necessary though wikipedia.org/wiki/Transport_Layer_Security says it has ECDSA cert, RC4 disabled, and mitigated FREAK over that of 12.02. The XP install only delivered the reg settings. "html5_entity_init.dat" is the same. GitHub works on 12.02. Mozilla XUL driver is pretty big too and hopefully 12.02 Opera.dll does not inhibit the security settings. Loblo has a point here though and new security settings may not work but I do remember some sites working that didn't before the update a year or so ago (not so sure now but GitHub did stop working for other members too).
  23. I found out that I copied all files over except keep "html5_entity_init.dat" "c3nform.vxml" "operaprefs_default.ini" and opera.dll. No old additional files were kept except the ones in the Opera root directory. All gstreamer files are new 2016 files. YouTube displays the progress bar preview when mouse is on the bar so it should work if allowed. Opera 12.02 must have had TLS 1.2 as well, in saying that GitHub and other sites work where without 12.18 they don't from what I can recall. I think "html5_entity_init.dat" could be copied from a XP install for example and also the reg settings, will try soon.
  24. Don't forget https://get.geo.opera.com/pub/opera/win/1218/ copy all files to your Opera 12.02 directory from your %temp% folder except opera.dll, use original opera.dll. This will solve the TLS 1.2 cypher missing problem.
  25. I think it can work on Win95. www.computerhope.com/download/window95.htm :- Updates Windows 95 to support USB. Requirements: Only for Windows 95 version 4.00.950b and 4.00.950c. toastytech.com/files/w95usbflash11.zip :-USB flash driver I did some checking and mfc42.dll needs IE4 installed that came with Windows 95 OSR 2.5 because wininet.dll is missing some functions otherwise. IE4 updates many system files including advapi32.dll, shell32.dll, rpcrt4.dll, msvcrt.dll and setupapi.dll. These file dates are 18/11/1997 but advapi32.dll does not contain SetSecurityInfo so advapi32.dll, iphlpapi.dll, dhcpsvc.dll, ipcfgdll.dll, msafd.dll, msasn1.dll, ws2_32.dll and ws2help.dll have to be updated from Win98SE to make work. Also requires unicows.dll.
