  1. That does break drag and drop, I confirmed it when I posted about blue star.
  2. This does not affect SFC /Scannow.
  3. Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MyComputer\NameSpace\{088e3905-0323-4b02-9826-5d99428e115f}][-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MyComputer\NameSpace\{1CF1260C-4DD0-4ebb-811F-33C572699FDE}][-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MyComputer\NameSpace\{24ad3ad4-a569-4530-98e1-ab02f9417aa8}][-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MyComputer\NameSpace\{374DE290-123F-4565-9164-39C4925E467B}][-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MyComputer\NameSpace\{3ADD1653-EB32-4cb0-BBD7-DFA0ABB5ACCA}][-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MyComputer\NameSpace\{3dfdf296-dbec-4fb4-81d1-6a3438bcf4de}][-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MyComputer\NameSpace\{A0953C92-50DC-43bf-BE83-3742FED03C9C}][-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MyComputer\NameSpace\{A8CDFF1C-4878-43be-B5FD-F8091C1C60D0}][-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MyComputer\NameSpace\{B4BFCC3A-DB2C-424C-B029-7FE99A87C641}][-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MyComputer\NameSpace\{d3162b92-9365-467a-956b-92703aca08af}][-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MyComputer\NameSpace\{f86fa3ab-70d2-4fc7-9c99-fcbf05467f3a}]
  4. Sometimes, but I take them out with this Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\HomeFolderDesktop\NameSpace\DelegateFolders\{3134ef9c-6b18-4996-ad04-ed5912e00eb5}][-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\HomeFolderDesktop\NameSpace\DelegateFolders\{3936E9E4-D92C-4EEE-A85A-BC16D5EA0819}]
  5. I have a themeatlas in which the minimize, maximize, and close buttons are all different colors, plus each one changes colors when you hover over them. https://mega.co.nz/#!NR5HCQSS!KAKTInckCBze84-3506d-Bd9mqYZn2bQzYq7kgsn_qw
  6. Well, if you know what you are doing, this debug version is beautiful for the most part! I am very happy to see it working, and even though the ModernFrame.dll is for a previous version of Windows 10, it does add some color, and works to a certain extent.
  7. When settings is in the foreground for me the text at the top left is BLACK, when in the background it is WHITE. I do not get that doubling effect.
  8. I inserted ModernFrame.dll, and it works well on some apps, such as store, MS Solitaire Collection, Calendar, and The Weather Channel app, works somewhat on Twitter, and doesn't work at all on Calculator, People, or Edge. So it is definitely not crashing anything, but not working with everything. The Three Faces of ModernFrame.dll
  9. It appears to function in a fashion, yes. However, I'd suggest waiting for another release that's made to work with the latest Aero Glass components. You'll notice it's no longer available for download on Big Muscle's site. -Noel What do you mean "in a fashion?"
  10. No, it must be run from task manager. What I do now (it is easier) is create a folder and name it Aeroglass. I then copy the debug files to it. Then I install the 1.3.1 version for Windows 8.1. It will ask if you want to install to AeroGlass folder, say yes. Do not check Shiny Aeroglass theme. Then you are good to go.
  11. Yes its always been the case to: 1. Install Only on a test machine 2. Install Only if you know what the heck your doing and don't wine if you don't and it's not working. Sure there will be a installer in the future for those that don't want to deal with the manual install method.. ~DP There are instructions in the forum for novices to read.
  12. I just installed. It is working great so far. I opened Store App, and moved it to second monitor with NO dwm.exe crashes. So far, so good, thank you bigmuscle!
  13. I thought so also, but for some people just having a blue star may be ok. But, is this not the same as having the Quick Access collapsed or unpopulated? It is still occupying the same space but without any functionality. But it does not say "Quick Access!" It just has a blue star, LOL!
  14. I thought so also, but for some people just having a blue star may be ok.
  15. If you want to remove quick access, but still have the ability to drag and drop to navigation pane, first make sure your explorer window opens to This PC, and not Quick Access. Then navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{679f85cb-0220-4080-b29b-5540cc05aab6}\ShellFolder in Registry Editor. You will need to take ownership if you have not already done so. You can download a nifty little program to do that for you here http://winaero.com/comment.php?comment.news.210 Then you change the DWORD value Attributes to 0. Restart your computer. In place of Quick Access there will be a small blue star, but that is all.
  16. Download, and run version 1.3.1, and restart. Do not check shiny theme atlas. You should be good. If you are not, open task manager, click on details tab, stop aeroglass.exe, and dwm.exe, copy debug for 10130. Restart. If symbols download, then create read only dummy files with exact same names as symbols files. Delete originals! You may need to do this in safe mode.
  17. It works to a point. There is still the issue of moving some Modern Apps to a different monitor causing dwm.exe failures. Bigmuscle does much better work than thieves. I will wait for the real deal.
  18. Okay, for one, the Start Menu. In a word USABLE. It has live tiles, easily customizable groupings, and namings. No need to scroll through all apps to find something, just click on an alphabet letter, the whole alphabet comes up, and I click on a letter, and woooosh, as if by magic, I am taken there! What could be better! Only sex, I think. Any way, you missed my whole point on boot time. Do not think about hybrid boot. Let us talk about restart which does not use hybrid boot. It is also way faster. Way, way faster. Win 7 takes forever. You can go take a dump in the amount of time it takes for that to boot, and I am talking about squeaky clean, no malware, no startup items too, so don't try and nab me on that one. LOL Also now we talk of Modern Apps, sure I only use a few, but I have tried many, and most are like, totally awesome. I use the Weather Channel, and Twitter mainly, but I have used news Apps, moon Apps, and various holiday Apps. They are all exceptional, and well worth it. If you haven't found one that works for you, then it must really be sad, because they are so very nice.
  19. It is way better than 7. 7 is yesterday's papers.
  20. The Microsoft shill is strong with this one The boot time "improvements" are because of Hybrid Start which doesn't ever shut your computer off. It never clears the RAM. It's a glorified hibernate. So of course it's going to be faster. You're not cold booting. You're only ever warm booting after that first initial startup. The start menu is infected with Metro. Lastly, what exactly are the benefits of Metro in general? No it's okay, I'll wait. If there are any good things about Windows 10, they're under-the-hood. where the average user will never see or even know about any such things. INFECTED WITH METRO??? I love metro! What are you talking about? It just starts faster anyway, even without hybrid start. It is just better all the way around.
  21. No disrespect meant at all, but what exactly are the benefits you have found in Windows 10? I would really, really, really like to know. ( I haven't seen any real benefits to any Windows OS beyond Windows 7 to entice me to change from Windows 7, and I know there are others who feel that way about XP, Win2K, Win98 and even Win95, but that's a totally different conversation. ) From everything I have read, there is nothing new at all available in Windows 10 that is not available in previous OS either built-in or with free or extremely cheap 3rd party addons. Cheers and Regards OMG!!! The benefits are so many they are impossible to list. Beginning with boot time, start menu, modern apps, and going way beyond. Simply the absolutely best OS I have ever used. Windows 7 was good in its day, but so was Windows 3.1. We have gone beyond that now! Wake up and smell the roses!
  22. I believe if you create a text file in the symbols folder, and rename one dwmcore.pdb, and the other uDWM.pdb, these will serve as dummy files, and you can store the originals elsewhere or delete. You should be ok then.
  23. Now that symbols are out we should have a working solution before long.
  24. Well, not having AeroGlass will not keep me from Windows 10. I have been using it exclusively since October, but it sure does make it nice. Right now I am using a theme which allows me to change the border colors, so at least it is not all white!
  25. Me too. Why hide Quick Access? I find this extremely useful to "quickly access" frequently used locations. In fact, before Quick Access existed, I made up my own Quick access in Windows XP (or was it Windows 98? I can't remeber) Actually, I have my frequently used locations, OneDrive, Desktop, Downloads, etc in Libraries. So for me, Quick Access is redundant.
