  1. Blur taskbar is fairly simple. Download SetCompositionAttribute.exe, place in /Windows/System32, and read here http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/174377-windows-10-how-to-make-taskbar-get-aero/?p=1107631
  2. I think you will like my idea which runs with no command window at all to pop up and down. Instead of your batch file, use this. @echo off:1SetWindowCompositionAttribute.exe class Shell_TrayWnd accent 0 0 0 0SetWindowCompositionAttribute.exe class Shell_TrayWnd blur truetimeout /T 2 /nobreakclsgoto 1 This will run every two seconds so your taskbar automatically refreshes. I put it on my C-drive, and created a .vbs file to run in startup. This script hides the command window so that you never see it. Dim WinScriptHostSet WinScriptHost = CreateObject("WScript.Shell")WinScriptHost.Run Chr(34) & "C:\TaskBarblur.cmd" & Chr(34), 0Set WinScriptHost = NothingAs you can see I named my code C:\Taskbarblur.cmd. So just open notepad, paste my code in it with the name of your batch file, and save it as a .vbs script. Put it in your startup folder, and you are good to go!
  3. Microsoft Edge is modern app and thus its frame is added by ModernFrame.dll. If you don't want this titlebar then do not use modernframe.dll. It is not possible to combine it with tab bar. Can ModernFrame.dll be made to ignore Microsoft Edge completely? IMO it's really not needed when using the black theme. I like what it does with the Edge browser.
  4. If you remove the shadows, it will look more flat. I also think you want buttons without the bottom shadowing.
  5. Does this checkbox modify other settings than CustomThemeAtlas? He had changed blur deviation and custom theme reflection, both were different from default values and I do not believe that this was modified by the installer. I really do not know. All I know is that whenever I have checked that little box, it really messes things up for me.
  6. Huh? It is huge! But here is a link to it. https://mega.nz/#!9d4ygbYQ!ZCuNCWwrtBeSIYX-nj7w3wHsPgq7tijkm2nMS_2QQDs Also, https://mega.nz/#!cchCBSLJ!lCcbvCRX4L48Bm3HRY8NINmamGiVj6VYoQaVRues3PM
  7. I use the Command line tool to change window's composition attributes (for very ADVANCED users only!) from bigmuscle's download page. Read the instructions carefully. Personally, I stay away from StartIsBack and Classic Shell, as I do not enjoy at all how they affect my system.
  8. It sounds to me as if you clicked the Install Shiny Aeroglass checkbox. This leads to what you describe. Never, ever check that box. It is the path to doom! LOL
  9. Here is layout file and here is screenshot Here is a shot of the png file I edited.
  10. I loaded that (win8rtm_mediumglow.png) up with the win8cp.png.layout (just changed the name) which I had customized. It works great! Now I have something to work with to get my max/min/close buttons customized to change colors!
  11. You can use something to edit the .png file and replace certain colors with what you want, but it's going to be tricky. Yea, I have done this, but right now I am using no themeatlas. I like the way that looks -- no borders, but it would be nice to have a themeatlas which keeps the default look, but allows me to replace the colors.
  12. I like the Standard Windows 10 look without the borders. Is there anyway to keep that exact look but allow me to colorize the min/max/close buttons? I like to have them each a different color, then change color when I hover over them.
  13. By experimenting with the .layout file, you can adjust these. I was able to accomplish a really nice look with these parameters. # Margins1;0;3601=8,8,1,42;0;3601=30,29,0,03;0;3601=12,12,6,83;0;3602=2,3,2,44;0;3601=12,12,6,84;0;3602=2,3,2,45;0;3601=12,12,6,85;0;3602=3,1,2,46;0;3601=12,12,6,86;0;3602=1,0,0,07;0;3601=4,4,6,87;0;3602=1,0,0,08;0;3601=4,4,6,88;0;3602=1,2,2,49;0;3601=4,4,6,89;0;3602=1,0,0,010;0;3601=4,4,6,810;0;3602=1,0,0,032;0;3601=6,2,0,033;0;3601=0,0,17,1734;0;3601=6,2,0,035;0;3601=0,0,17,1736;0;3601=5,5,2,337;0;3601=2,2,2,237;0;3602=1,0,0,038;0;3601=2,2,2,238;0;3602=1,0,0,043;0;3601=3,2,0,044;0;3601=2,3,0,045;0;3601=5,5,2,145;0;3602=1,0,0,046;0;3601=23,23,10,1046;0;3602=1,0,0,047;0;3601=8,8,2,147;0;3602=1,0,0,048;0;3601=28,28,0,051;0;3601=2,0,0,052;0;3601=0,2,0,053;0;3601=2,2,2,053;0;3602=1,0,0,054;0;3601=2,2,1,255;0;3601=2,0,0,056;0;3601=2,0,0,057;0;3601=0,0,2,257;0;3602=1,0,0,058;0;3601=2,2,1,263;0;3601=0,183,0,183CaptionHeight=12# This is __HACK__ which tries to avoid deflating inactive frame by one logical pixel (Win10 only)DontDeflateInactiveFrameGeometry=0
  14. OK, I hope I can answer questions. If you are using a 32 bit OS, ModernFrame.dll will NOT work. If you have upgraded to Windows 10 build 10532, you will NOT get symbols.
  15. I am able to remove all the borders with the layout file parameters from around a window, say Windows Explorer EXCEPT for the very small white line across the top. Any ideas on how to get that to go away?
  16. Oh, and some things I had configured got de-configured as well, even though I had build a cordon around them with permissions. For example, "Desktop", which I had eliminated, had magically reappeared under This PC. -Noel This is why I have ONE BAT FILE TO RULE THEM ALL! Just a click, and a second, and everything is back the way I want it! No problems, no worries, hassle free!
  17. This seems to have started after the latest updates (one of KB3081448, KB3081449, KB3081452) which has likely updated the dwm files. Either I am doing something wrong with symchk (if so if anyone has any advice on downloading symbols that would be great) or the newer symbols aren't available yet on the symbol server. So far aeroglass still seems to be working ok for me despite the message. EDIT: Ok I managed to get this working by reinstalling "Debugging Tools for Windows", opening a command prompt, navigating to the debugging tools folder ("C:\Program Files\Debugging Tools for Windows (x64)" in my case) and using: symchk c:\windows\system32\dwmcore.dll /s SRV*c:\symbols\*http://msdl.microsoft.com/download/symbols symchk c:\windows\system32\udwm.dll /s SRV*c:\symbols\*http://msdl.microsoft.com/download/symbols symchk c:\windows\system32\dwm.exe /s SRV*c:\symbols\*http://msdl.microsoft.com/download/symbols (dwm.exe isn't specified on BM's guide page so possibly isn't needed, also you will probably need to hover over the msdl link part above and edit your command line as the forum seems to shorten the urls with ellipses, or clicking on "Quote" as though you were going to reply to this post and getting the full lines from the reply area works too) I copied the symbols folders from c:\symbols to the symbols folder under the aeroglass installation and rebooted (just clicking on "retry" in the warning dialog didn't work for me), and the warning message didn't come back. Could you provide a download link to symbols, I get error mismatched or not found.
  18. Adjust opacity in Aeroglass GUI. Both mine are transparent.
  19. I get the same error with build 10532, but after closing Aeroglass works great.
  20. Version 1.4 is working great for me, also. Will we see a new ModernFrame.dll soon?
  21. This is beautiful, is that an atlas? Could you please share it? TY! --edit-- That is win8rp atlas, right? Yeah it is, I edited it on top of win8rp.png. Well it's basically the same modifications I made to myself on the clearscreen sharp skin in few years ago, and I was happy running Windows 7 with that. I still feel there might be some tuning to do - like actually edit those min/max/close button symbols more, but surely it works fine right now as it is with default caption size. Set the Glass color as white, opacity to 0 and balance all the way up. And put caption coloring to white with the use of glow image on atlas theme. http://hrtlan.com/clsharp.png Since I'm not an expert on tuning that layout file, any tips to actually adjust the border size? I have set the ForceSystemMetrics on. Also Windows 10 start menu, volume tuning and notification/action center seems to get the glass borders too, but it doesn't do any blurring behind those. I would rather see them not having those glass borders at all if blurring isn't possible. Thanks, open the layout file and change 47;0;3602=1,0,0,0 # Window Borders 45;0;3602=1,0,0,0 # Tool Window Borders Thank you for this info! This works beautifully!
