I still have a feeling that we'll still have a place for laptops in the market. There is only so much space on the screen of a PDA/Cellphone. Rollable Displays may help solve this, but they're still a long ways away. If you look at hard drives, they've been the same size for years now, and yet we've simply made the excuse to keep the size and pack more storage space in there. As for keyboards, as I said before, I have never found a full-sized foldable keyboard. For someone like me with big hands, the ultra-portable laptops and the current foldable keyboards are a nightmare. And to refute prathapml, I do most of my typing of letters, reports, and the like on my laptop. I actually prefer the feel of the keys now to a standard keyboard. Just one more thing about making things smaller and thinner... the thinner something gets, the weaker it gets physically. Don't believe me? Take a piece of paper - see how easy it is to bend? Now take a 2x4... see how hard it is to bend? They're the same material (more or less), but the thickness makes the difference. People do abuse their equipment (think about everytime you shove your cellphone into your pocket, or throw it in your bag, and then put your textbooks on top of it...) I still get the jitters thinking about how thin the lids of Powerbooks are today (~0.2" ~ 0.5mm). I can just imagine one of those things bending or warping so easily...

Alright... I'm starting to get my way there, but I'm a bit confused. I followed all the steps from the guide, up until the point where it starts talking about a boot menu. I'm not really into AIO-CD/DVDs, so I'm somewhat confused as to how to go about getting the simple XP setup back. I've tried adding in the "regular" files that are in the root of the XP CD, as well as hex editing them, but no luck. I'm going to try Zed's method to see if that works... Any other help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. EDIT - Oy... Zed's method does work... so simple! No hex editing, no nothing! I haven't noticed a speed increase, but I was going more for the extra space on the CD rather than the speed.

If you use the nLited CD, and under Unattended Setup select "Full Unattended", you will still get the initial option of configuring your partitions. This is the way that I start all of my UACDs. As InTheWayBoy said, the Setup Billboards section of the forum is the first place to look for the custom installation screens. Before you ask, there is no way of changing the blue and grey colors of the text setup screen (where you select your partitions). The WinntbbuED program is very helpful for modifying the setup screen. With it, you're just a point and click away from using your own BMP for the background (you need BMPs, not JPG - convert them with MSPaint and you'll be fine).Another alternative is to use Reshacker. It's a little more "hardcore" but you can get pretty much exactly what you want from it. AFAIK, an nLited CD can repair an nLited install. You (obviously) cannot restore a full XP installation with a bare-bones nLited CD.@vakhal - Doing things manually is a lot more difficult. People often learn from examples. By using programs and tools, and then looking at the "before and after" files, it's easy to see where the changes have to be made in the future.

If you're using a laptop then that doesn't matter much...

I think there's a setting in TweakUI for this. You can disable showing the version in the classic start menu or something like that.

This has been covered before. You need to format the drive in advance with BartPE or a WinXP install disc before attempting to install Vista.

Heya everyone, I'm looking to spice up my website a little bit (Link). Right now it's just plain-jane HTML 4.01, but I'd like to add a little bit more to it, as well as learning more about making a really good looking website. I found this site on CSS, and I've been able to pick up on the basics - CSS Tutorial Does anyone have any good recommendations for books or webpages with tutorials or references on XHTML and CSS? I learn fairly well from example (which is why that page is good for me), but parsing through a full webpage to find out what this and that tag do is somewhat overwhelming sometimes. Thanks in advance! Edit - Sorry... forgot to ask... I'm using frames right now for my webpage. I've heard that frames are somewhat unfavoured for webpages. Does anyone have any insight to this? A lot of pages I visit now use tables instead of frames to layout their items.

My guess... (Knowing Jeremy) - no firewall. The only problem with Sygate is that it just got bought by Symantec, which could mean one of two things - either Sygate itself turns to crap, or Symantec gets a lot better. My guess is the former, since that's what happened with Partition Magic. I still have my PowerQuest Partition Magic installer, and I'm never gonna let go of it. As for the stopped development, I know a lot of people who still use Kerio 2.x since it does the job (in terms of keeping people out). I can't really think of a situation where the current Sygate or Kerio would fail in their jobs.

Just backup your current command line starting command, and apply the tweak as written above. When you're done packing your Nero setup, run your reg file with your customized settings and all is well.

1)RDRAM is plain expensive. Don't go there.2) Intel Mobos are alright, but limiting. If you ever want to do any sort of OCing (you never know), you won't be able to with an Intel board. As for AMDs... I used to use Intels all the time and for a notebook, I wouldn't look elsewhere. However, most benchmarks for gaming have shown that AMD's are typically better in that department. Another selling point for AMD is the fact that their CPUs generate less heat than Intels. Tom's Hardware did a test on the top-end AMD and Intel dual-core CPUs here. The general conclusions can be drawn down the line with both manufacturers. Performance per watt - AMD wins every time. Since all electrical energy in a computer is eventually turned into heat, AMDs generally run cooler than their Intel equivalents. (Not to mention that the AMD did much better than the Intel in FarCry )

When did he say that? If you ask in the Wilder's Security Forums, you'd probably get a better answer. I think that it does delete the oldest images, somewhat like System Restore deletes the oldest restore points. There's no real point in restoring to a point 2 years ago, now is there...

@ender341 - If you look a few posts back, I posted a link to a site with custom buttons. To customize the menus, simply right-click on one and select Customize. You can then drag and drop buttons around to where you want them. Under the buttons tab you can find new buttons to add. The site I provided gives extra buttons with functionality that would otherise need a keyboard shortcut or the menu to access. Opera's Webpage also provides quite a few guides and custom setups. I've been PMed about writing a guide on how to configure Opera with plugins. Hopefully I'll be able to find the time to write this and also another guide for customizing the UI. If others have any more suggestions, PM me and I'll see if I can add it in.
