  1. This is the rule which has to be added in uBlock Origin Legacy under the tab "My rules" to block the browser detection of the website https://winraid.level1techs.com/ and let it load properly again: winraid.level1techs.com https://winraid.level1techs.com/assets/browser-detect-99f42f91bffa8ca1606d62b70bb92f981d83921e78ccdbd3d9538f07007f27ac.js script block And if you want to block all these browser detection scripts of this type from all websites, you simply have to create an universal rule in the tab "My filters", strictly according to the motto "one for all" , just like this one: /*browser-detect-*.js I personally prefer the latter to block as many of those crappy browser detection scripts as possible. Cheers, AstroSkipper
  2. The reason I'm asking so much for your opinion is the impression I get that many users either don't have custom buttons on their radar or don't really know what to do with them or have just never tried them. Anyway! In my next post, I will present one of my favourite custom buttons made by a great developer of extensions and custom buttons which I install in all my profiles of New Moon and Serpent by default to keep an eye on certain, self-selected browser preferences and control them. Cheers, AstroSkipper
  3. Right! The release ending of *.xpmod.7z is the one for computers with a CPU equipped with SSE2 instruction set and above as it is in your case.
  4. To give you an idea what makes custom buttons so special, they are very low on memory consumption and can provide features which are not existent in browsers. Many of them are very specialised and add features to the browser that cannot even be retrofitted with extensions because they were simply never developed. And of course, we all know that nowadays hardly any new legacy extensions are developed for such browsers, but practically only webextensions. Beyond that, the more extensions installed, the more memory consumption, the more inconpatibilities and error messages (browser console), and finally, the less browser performance, depending on your hardware, of course. So, it would be really interesting for me what other users think about custom buttons. Any opinions, experiences or questions are welcome, of course! And it doesn't matter whether you used them in the past or still do.
  5. As I wrote in my first, introductory post of this thread, I am not only a fan of extensions, but also of custom buttons. I personally use a lot of already existing custom buttons and beyond that, created several on my own in the past. In any case, I will continue to present them here. But at this point, I would like to know how much interest there is in custom buttons among users of @roytam1's browser editions in general. So, feel free to share your thoughts on that topic!
  6. Update notification! All extensions from RealityRipple have been updated to version v33.0 or v33.1. Here is the link once again: https://realityripple.com/Software/XUL/ Cheers, AstroSkipper
  7. If these words are addressed to @Vistapocalypse, I can only agree. But I wonder what business it is of yours at all? You are not involved in this conversation, not even mentioned. TBH, you don't have to put your two cents in everywhere in the forum. And I fear, it's not that important what you are tired of or what not. Sorry, my dear!
  8. Since when is this forum obscure? I personally think there are other things here that seem to be obscure.
  9. You're welcome. When it comes to successfully blocking content using uBlock Origin Legacy, it is very often a question of the right filter list or self-created rule. A sensible combination of enabled filter lists is very important to successfully block whatever you want to and to keep the memory usage of the used browser as low as possible. This is one of the reasons why I have implemented additional filter lists in my mod and will do so even in the next releases.
  10. The use of artificial intelligence is a double-edged sword. It can generate results very quickly and easily. However, these must be evaluated and consulted with caution. In my opinion, it is essential to do your own research in any case. I personally do not trust any AI. It is nice to have such technology but I don't want to be told what to do or think by any artificial intelligence. I don't really approve of such a dependency, which is already fatal for children and students for years. Stupidity is being encouraged. Nobody needs to know anything. AI already does that. A famous German astrophysicist, Prof. Dr. Harald Lesch, put it aptly a long time ago. Young people don't know much anymore, they just learn how to easily get information. He literally said that in this day and age, young people only learn skills, but they know very little. I totally agree. Of course, using artificial intelligence sensibly is a completely different story.
  11. Of course, it does. Look at the end of the FAQ! There are links to the corresponding articles whose author is no less than @VistaLover. And a little research on your own to deepen the topic would be helpful, too. But to be honest, @Mathwiz did already the job for you and quoted the most suitable post from @VistaLover in terms of your query.
  12. A much more fundamental problem is the seemingly lost ability to carry out in-depth research in a forum before asking questions whose answer is actually easy to find. Presumably because it's more convenient that way. And who wants to go through four threads with 200 pages each and then this one here with the help of the forum search?
  13. No problem. Then that's the way it is. Actually, people should get their information here anyway. Sometimes, it's not so easy to express exactly what you want to say in a foreign language. In most cases, I think I manage that, but unfortunately not always.
  14. Ok!? Is it not possible to edit posts in the Pale Moon forum afterwards? I only know this from the Malwarebytes forum. I personally hate such restrictions.
  15. In short, yes. New Moon 28 is an UXP browser and a port of the current Pale Moon browser. Therefore, it has a lot of more modern features. Read here for more information: https://msfn.org/board/topic/185966-my-browser-builds-part-5/?do=findComment&comment=1258498
  16. This happens to me all the time, and very often I don't know what the actual problem is. The forum post editor is a disease. And this untenable situation has existed for months now. Thanks for posting additional information about my mod! However, the cited post of mine is unfortunately misleading and should be still replaced by the corrected one. Otherwise, someone could think the updating over an existing installation (1.16.4.32 or 1.16.4.33) of uBlock Origin Legacy would also work which is of course not the case. The manual updating over an existing installation of my mod will only work in terms of the internal list of all offered filter lists (assets.json) starting with version 1.16.4.34 and above. After installing this internal list from version 1.16.4.34, it will then be updated automatically in the future. Anyway! Thanks again for spreading the news!
  17. @Felipefpl Use the filter list "AdGuard Base" from the group "Ads"! This will prevent the detection of uBlock Origin Legacy on the website www.ovagames.com. I have just tested it successfully.
  18. Hello @Felipefpl What do you mean with the normal uBlock on Firefox? The webextension uBlock Origin on current versions of Firefox?
  19. @nicolaasjan Thank you for posting the news in the Pale Moon Forum! Can you please update your post there with the corrected news above? It had been formulated by me a little unclear. Therefore, I had to revise it again so that there are no misunderstandings about what will change. Thanks in advance! Greetings from Germany, AstroSkipper
  20. Although I have said that the air is getting very, very thin for anyone who wants to run an antimalware programme with real-time protection on a machine with an SSE only CPU that is still receiving current definition updates, however, common sense should not desert the user of such old computers. I will test whether Panda Free Antivirus will run on computers with a CPU that does not have SSE2 support. Maybe, there are other users who have already gained experience with Panda Free Antivirus on such computers and are willing to share their knowledge.
  21. FYI, I had a "nice" conversation in the Malwarebytes Forums: https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/309490-have-you-all-stopped-making-updates/ Unfortunately, there won't be any further definition updates for Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Pro 1.75.0.1300. They have deliberately stopped rolling out current definition updates for this version. After the end of support for Avast Free Antivirus 2015, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 2.2.1.1043 and now Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Pro 1.75.0.1300, the air is getting very, very thin for anyone who wants to run an antimalware programme with real-time protection on a machine with an SSE only CPU that is still receiving current definition updates. All in all, bad news!
  22. News about my mod uBlock Origin Legacy! I have of course noticed that there is considerable interest in my mod uBlock Origin Legacy. I have therefore addressed the problem of updating an existing installation of my mod. With the upcoming release of uBlock Origin Legacy 1.16.4.34, it will then also be possible to install over an existing installation of my mod (1.16.4.34 and higher). The internal list of all preselected filter lists (assets.json) will then finally be automatically updated, too. I am still in the testing phase, but everything looks good and seems to work so far. Cheers, AstroSkipper
  23. Install the extension SQLite Manager 0.8.3.1 from the Classic Add-ons Archive! This extension can manage sqlite files such as your webappsstore.sqlite inside New Moon. BTW, my file is only about 12 MB. With SQLite Manager 0.8.3.1, you can view all entries, add new ones, edit or delete old ones. My webappsstore.sqlite files in different profiles are of different sizes from 96 KB up to 12 MB.
