The link you provided does not answer my question!

Of course, it does. smilie_denk_24.gif Look at the end of the FAQ! starescreen.gif There are links to the corresponding articles whose author is no less than @VistaLover. And a little research on your own to deepen the topic would be helpful, too. :P But to be honest, @Mathwiz did already the job for you and quoted the most suitable post from @VistaLover in terms of your query. :o

  2. A much more fundamental problem is the seemingly lost ability to carry out in-depth research in a forum before asking questions whose answer is actually easy to find. :P Presumably because it's more convenient that way.  And who wants to go through four threads with 200 pages each and then this one here with the help of the forum search? :buehehe:

No problem. Then that's the way it is. Actually, people should get their information here anyway. Sometimes, it's not so easy to express exactly what you want to say in a foreign language. In most cases, I think I manage that, but unfortunately not always. smilie_denk_24.gif

What is the difference between Palemoon 28 and Palemoon 27 for Windows XP - https://rtfreesoft.blogspot.com/search/label/newmoon?
Does Palemoon 28 support and show new, modern sites better than Palemoon 27?

In short, yes. New Moon 28 is an UXP browser and a port of the current Pale Moon browser. Therefore, it has a lot of more modern features. Read here for more information: https://msfn.org/board/topic/185966-my-browser-builds-part-5/?do=findComment&comment=1258498

    This is weird.

I want to reply to the post of @AstroSkipper above, but I get:

This happens to me all the time, and very often I don't know what the actual problem is. The forum post editor is a disease. :thumbdown  And this untenable situation has existed for months now. :realmad:

Thanks for posting additional information about my mod! However, the cited post of mine is unfortunately misleading and should be still replaced by the corrected one. Otherwise, someone could think the updating over an existing installation (1.16.4.32 or 1.16.4.33) of uBlock Origin Legacy would also work which is of course not the case. The manual updating over an existing installation of my mod will only work in terms of the internal list of all offered filter lists (assets.json) starting with version 1.16.4.34 and above. After installing this internal list from version 1.16.4.34, it will then be updated automatically in the future. Anyway! Thanks again for spreading the news! :)

  6. @nicolaasjan Thank you for posting the news in the Pale Moon Forum! Can you please update your post there with the corrected news above? It had been formulated by me a little unclear. Therefore, I had to revise it again so that there are no misunderstandings about what will change. Thanks in advance! :)

FYI, I had a "nice" conversation in the Malwarebytes Forums
    https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/309490-have-you-all-stopped-making-updates/
Unfortunately, there won't be any further definition updates for Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Pro 1.75.0.1300. They have deliberately stopped rolling out current definition updates for this version.

Thus, I have updated my lists in the second and fourth post. smilie_denk_24.gif

  8. Although I have said that the air is getting very, very thin for anyone who wants to run an antimalware programme with real-time protection on a machine with an SSE only CPU that is still receiving current definition updates, however, common sense should not desert the user of such old computers. I will test whether Panda Free Antivirus will run on computers with a CPU that does not have SSE2 support. Maybe, there are other users who have already gained experience with Panda Free Antivirus on such computers and are willing to share their knowledge. :dubbio:

  10. News about my mod uBlock Origin Legacy! vil2_nouvelles.gif

I have of course noticed that there is considerable interest in my mod uBlock Origin Legacy. I have therefore addressed the problem of updating an existing installation of my mod. With the upcoming release of uBlock Origin Legacy 1.16.4.34, it will then also be possible to install over an existing installation of my mod (1.16.4.34 and higher). The internal list of all preselected filter lists (assets.json) will then finally be automatically updated, too. I am still in the testing phase, but everything looks good and seems to work so far.

My "webappsstore.sqlite" in New Moon is 150 MB. When I view it with a text editor, I see it full of JavaScript and keywords apparently related to advertising from Shopify and similar domains. This is a ridiculous amount of data. Can I see in the browser to whom this data belongs to, and clear it without deleting this file in its entirety?

Install the extension SQLite Manager 0.8.3.1 from the Classic Add-ons Archive! This extension can manage sqlite files such as your webappsstore.sqlite inside New Moon. BTW, my file is only about 12 MB.

With SQLite Manager 0.8.3.1, you can view all entries, add new ones, edit or delete old ones. My webappsstore.sqlite files in different profiles are of different sizes from 96 KB up to 12 MB.

  13. Update notification! update.gif

As already reported , the Root Certificates have been updated and are now from 26-03-2024. Here are screenshots of both updaters:

    Root-Certificates-26-03-2024.png

    Root-Certificates-26-03-2024-2.png

Therefore, my self-created, offline Root Certificate Updaters in the section 11.2.4. Downloads related to Root Certificate Updates (in the first post of this thread) will also be updated if I can somehow trick this crappy forum post editor. tetecontremur.gif

FYI, due to the fact that the MSFN forum editor is totally broken and hasn't been working properly for months, especially when it comes to inserting of links :realmad:, I wasn't able to edit my main article ProxHTTPSProxy and HTTPSProxy in Windows XP for future use the last weeks. Unfortunately, I have to revise and to change some content in this article to be hopefully able again to edit it and to add the links for the new offline Root Certificate Updaters. This all is very annoying and time-consuming. :realmad:

@bluebolt (or anyone else who knows): is Aomei PAssist capable to copy/clone a partition (from one disk) to another existing partition (of a second disk)? Tanks!

AOMEI Partition Assistant can copy or clone partitions or disks. Here is a versions comparison in German: https://www.aomei.de/partition-manager/comparison.html
I personally have installed the Professional Edition of  AOMEI Partition Assistant and AOMEI Backupper.

Indeed, it's mentioned there , parameter is "--no-remote", Is there any difference to "-no-remote" as specified by mozilla (and used by me since ever)?

I think the -no-remote option does the same in both, New Moon and Firefox. I used this option in the past via shortcuts I created to launch different versions of Firefox in the same Windows XP installation. spanachee.gif

  17. I fear that no one here will convert a webextension to a legacy extension, just on request. nimportequoi.gif The probability for that is close to zero. Especially when it comes to a rather unimportant extension whose function is already covered by some legacy extensions. The effort involved for doing such a project is very significant. The only way is looking for an extension programmer, who usually has to be paid for, or performing such conversion on their own. smilie_denk_24.gif

    Hello,

Malwarebytes 1.75 on my Windows 2000 laptop no longer updates since March 14. I have tried re-installing it, but it only downloads the March 13th update:
    QQUr2it.jpeg

As hard as it is to say, it might actually be the end of the last lightweight and good MBAM

I want to know if others that use this version are having the same issue or is it just me...

Hello @NojusK! I am using Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Pro 1.75.0.1300 on one of my Windows XP Professional SP3 32-bit partitions. Unfortunately, I have to make the same observation here. The update works, but the last update of the virus definition is v2024.03.13.12. Nothing more up-to-date is currently available. Here is a screenshot:

    Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware-1-75-0-1300-Up

However, we should wait some days to see if this is really the end. You know hope dies last. :P In any case, I totally agree Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Pro 1.75.0.1300 was and is the lightest antimalware programme ever. That's why I was so happy in July 2023 to have found a way to reactivate it. Just a tip. Save this last definition update to recover it for whatever reasons in the case it is no longer available via online update! :)

Yes but we're not all coders.  I see people putting putting in all sorts of request here all of the time.  MSFN developers, while admittedly of their own kindness, do this because they know there is an audience for it.  It builds expectation, plain and simple.  In other words, I'm going to feel at all poorly about my wishes when I see other making requests left, right and centre here - ALL THE TIME.

People do request a lot. That doesn't mean anything. But the main problem is there must be someone who is willing to develop such 64-bit releases. If there is no serious need or strong demand for such stuff, no one will create those versions. It's as simple as that. Even if you don't want to hear that now. On the other hand, that doesn't mean to give up, either. :P

getting 403 when posting changelogs ...

I'm not surprised at all. As you know, complex postings with special links and code are currently very problematic due to the new life of the MSFN post editor. The longer the post, the sooner the well-known error message appears.

BTW, any news for us about your obviously changed update policy in terms of UXP browsers and email clients or did I miss something? :dubbio:
