  1. That wasn't really much help... :/

  3. Everytime I view a PNG image on the Internet (not embedded in webpage, but via a link from email, newsgroups or webpage PNG link opening in a new window) it tries to download the PNG file instead of viewing it in Internet Explorer. (Mozilla Firebird is fine however) Its Quicktime that's causing this problem knowing from past experiences, so I've installed Quicktime Alternative 1.11 instead but the same problem happens again I've had a look in the File Types Associations options, but couldn't find much that could be changed (I compared a PNG's options with a JPG and both are very much the same) Anyone know how to fix it?
  4. bottom of the page at http://www.MSFN.org/unattended/xp/finish.htm
  5. WinRAR has an option to create SFX archives, which you can set options to extract silently to a directory of your choice.
  6. OK, maybe its not September here yet, but its September in some parts of the World, so it counts! Click to enlarge Visual Style: Ximian Desktop 1.0 Winamp: same old great milkamp skin MyIE2 skin: "Escape the Net" (Mozilla style) Wallpaper: Included with Visual Style Icons: Task Manager, Connection, eMule, Winamp, Digiguide, mIRC, MSN Messenger 6, DUMeter, SAV 8.1, Kerio Firewall.
  7. Getting a 504 Gateway timeout here
  8. Add them all in. Windows XP Setup will install the correct drivers on the closest match. There's no way of Setup 'force installing' a VIA chipset driver on a SIS mobo, so there's nothing to worry about
  9. All 3 same threads merged. One topic on this subject is enough thanks.
  10. batch (.bat) and command (*.cmd) files do very much the same thing. Slipstreaming hotfixes can't be done by either one shown above. Spheris has made some threads in this forum explaining how to slipstream the hotfixes into the CD.
  11. Sorry but we don't give out advice on where to get it, or warez links. Please read the MSFN Forum Rules.
  12. hrm? Windows XP Final isn't beta, its final
  13. Looking great!
  14. No it doesn't, I've deleted the C:\ Partion when I had D:\ and E:\ partitions and C:\ gets reallocated to the deleted partition when recreated.
  15. Already posted, but thanks for the mirror anyway http://www.MSFN.org/comments.php?id=4645
  16. hmm you never need to use FDISK at all, you can delete and recreate partitions in text-mode Windows Setup.
  17. You know ViperSnake... anyone else hasn't probably noticed, but having seen your attitude and actions on other forums such as TechZonez and WinBeta to name a few, we can see that you're trolling to provoke and frustrate other members. Maybe you want to check the term troll here. I'm not sure what your game is, you suddenly want every forum you go to to get their theme changed. Is jealousy kicking in? As XPerties once said, our forum skin is unique, and its what makes us different, and its what makes a site different from any other. You are probably surprised we found this out? Well, we are part of one large Internet Tech Community and word spreads around fast between MSFN and other site affiliates. Also, we don't need you to post replies in threads requesting it should be closed, when there isn't any apparent reason to close it at all. But any such future (sensible) requests should be reported using the "Report this post to a Moderator" feature, or by PM'ing an Admin. That's what its there for! One of our moderators has pointed out to use the Edit feature, but you seem to have completely ignored this and still repeatly make several replies, but oh well, it'll make it look like you're talking to yourself!
  18. sysoc.inf has some [Components] values in there too, in lines that contain 'HIDE' which is hidden from Add/Remove > Windows Setup
  19. The partition you plan to install Windows XP onto, delete and recreate. None of the other partition will be affected, and the partition deleted&recreated will have the same size as it was previously.
  20. The fan is supposed to be on all the time to cool your notebook down when its on! Anyway, have a look in the BIOS to see if you can control the fan's speed.
  21. yep: From there you can specify your own ins file. I didn't use the IEAK, but I installed it and looked at the Reference section in ieakhelp.chm to make my own INS file. Example: [Entry] Entry_Name=Virgin24 [Phone] Phone_Number=removed Area_Code= Country_Code=44 Country_ID=44 Dial_As_Is=Yes [User] Requires_Logon=Yes Name=removed Password=removed Display_Password=yes [Server] SW_Compress=No PW_Encrypt=No Type=PPP Network_Logon=no SW_Encrypt=no Negotiate_NetBEUI=no Negotiate_IPX/SPX=no Negotiate_TCP/IP=Yes [TCP/IP] Specify_Server_Address=No IP_Header_Compress=No Gateway_On_Remote=Yes DNS_Address= DNS_Alt_Address= [ConnectionSettings] ApplyInsToConnection=Virgin24
  22. Nobody knows at the moment, we'll have to wait until October 1st when MSDN subs get their hands on it.
  23. I had a play with vmware, seems to be much slower (ran on 3.0GHz P4) than Virtual PC (which ran on a 1.2GHz AMD)
