Please note that this post has been posted to both the [b:23eeb661aa]Windows XP and .NET[/b:23eeb661aa] and [b:23eeb661aa]Windows 9x/2k/ME/NT[/b:23eeb661aa] forums. ASPI 4.70 has been kindly released for free from Adaptec and you can get it from their page: http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/support/d...oduct/ASPI-4.70 Installation instructions: For Windows 98, NT 4.0, Me and 2000, use the enclosed ASPIINST.EXE file to install the ASPI layer. Includes ASPICHK version checking utility. For Windows XP, select Start - Run from the menu, and then the Browse button. Locate the INSTALL.BAT file in the directory the files extracted to and select the OPEN button. In the command box, add a space and either XP32 for Pentium I/II/III/IV processors or XP64 for Itanium processors. The command should look like: c:adaptecaspiinstall.bat XP32 or c:adaptecaspiinstall.bat XP64. Then select the OK button to run the XP installer.

hmmm thats a strange one... have you checked both sides of the manual book as well? Email Microsoft UK and ask them why their FS2002 product contains no key inside. They may be able to explain.

I don't know where the drivers are stored. but you can always do this: 1. Install Windows XP 2. Install all the necessary drivers 3. Backup your hard drive (where win xp is installed) using Ghost 2002 or Drive Image 5 4. You'll never have to reformat again. Restore your Backup image back to the hard drive and you'll have a clean installed OS with just the drivers. 5. (Optional) Install essential software and windows updates, and backup again to the same image. You can restore again if ever needed to.

LOL, don't worry about it, its a piece of ActiveX showing the contents of your hard drive, only you can see it and nobody else can. Its one of the most convincing pranks on the net.

I choose the components I want, get some computer company to build it for me (not the main ones, just a small company in the UK) and I pay the £50 charge for them to build it, and get a nice warranty slapped on it! (that way I had a free graphics card and hard drive replacement, and they were better than the previous ones lol) IMO this is better than building a PC at home, come on £50 is cheap, including warranty!

XPerties, get the Adobe Mega Font Pack, theres about over 80 adobe fonts and some of them are really good!

I should think Swish gets its fonts from the C:WINDOWSFONTS directory, so you should have plenty of fonts to choose from when using Swish. btw, I noticed you used lame Times New Roman as your sig font. ROFL.

Luckily, I was in an IRC channel at the time and logged the chat, someone had the same problem as you: <TheBrew``> oki, i found out that the server_corpfiles i downloaded yesterday does -not- work on the enterprise version of .net (windows runs as it should, but i can't connect to it with terminal services - i have no problem if i install the non-corped version) - does anyone here know/have the corpfiles for the Enterprise version? <|_Taz13> what msg do you get when you try to use term svcs ?? <|_Taz13> something about encryption level ?? <TheBrew``> yup <TheBrew``> exactly...! <TheBrew``> "you do not have the proper encryption level to run this session" ..or something <|_Taz13> it's fixable, run a reg search for minencryptionlevel and change all incidences to 0 instead of 2 will fix it <|_Taz13> i think at least 3 incidences of that key <TheBrew``> if that fixes it.. then you're THE MAN..! lemme c.. <TheBrew``> (i've been spending about 6-8 hours on this problem) <|_Taz13> did the same thing when installed 3590 is y i know <TheBrew``> how did u find out? <|_Taz13> couple of ppl worked on it other op here Element figured it out <TheBrew``> you're hardcore guys alright.. <|_Taz13> might be minencryptlevel <TheBrew``> it works..... man.. thanks a MILLION

Keep to the left of the beach, keep ducking under those wooden thingys, don't rush, be patient. The medic is nearby on the left (or north-west). He will heal you, then you should rush up to the top of the beach. -
My mate has a problem when he tries to load mission 4, or start a new game, his PC tries to connect to the internet. I'm puzzled as to why its doing that.

What were the last bits of software you installed when you were running the OS? For now, try pressing F8 just before the WinXP splash screen appears, and choose Last Known Good Configuration, see if that works. If not boot into safe mode, from either one, you can remove the offending software you suspect is causing the problem. It could be hardware related... the hard disk. My mate has a PC with a failing hard drive, and he gets those sort of messages from time to time, but boots fine later. Check your hard disk manufacturer website for any diagnostics tools, they're bound to have them!.

-
spaces? such as: sfc /scannow or sfc /scan now or something?

My SFC don't work either, asks for the winxp cd all the time even though I've put two copies in; one in my DVD Drive, and one in the CD-RW. I'm absolutely stumped!

Am I getting deja vu here? sure I've seen this post before somewhere.... The freezing is strange... I get it sometimes, so I just wait and it works eventually, but its not normal and windows networking and folder sharing is a real mess. Best idea would be to use FTP Server software such as BulletProop FTP Server 2.15 (www.bpftpserver.com) and set them active and online on both machines. Then use an FTP Client such as CuteFTP Pro (www.cuteftp.com) to access the other machine by address such as ftp://aaron/ (if the machine was named aaron) Its fast and easy. (Since I found out about this yesterday, I'm going to implement this in my LAN of 4 PCs next week, since its such a pain sharing folders with all these different users and NTFS file systems.) If you want to browse files "Windows Explorer" style, then I'm sure WS_FTP Pro is the FTP client you need. (www.ipswitch.com I think) Let me know how you get on.
