  1. well, I spent a few hours looking through the plugins, and I din't find anything that was acceptible for my situation. I wish I could program
  2. Hello All, Heres my problem, I have an Audigy 2 Platinum card, witch I like, but dont love, and the creative Media Source Player has some lousy media support, and I cant play .ogg, and I beleive I cant play .ape in it as well. So if you own one of these cards with a remote you know that through media source you can use the remote control to browse your media library and pick what you want to listen to through the remote. What I'm looking for is a front end to WinAmp (Way Superior to Media Source) that will give me an easy to browse listing of all my media files tha way I can through Media Source and the supplied remote for the sound card. Now, I have an ATI AIW 9700 Pro, and I use that remote for everything, and just use the Audigy card's remote for volume and EAX effects. So is there a front end to WinAmp like that, or a plugin or something to accomplish this?
  3. Check these links out: http://www.tweakxp.com/tweak683.aspx http://www.tweakxp.com/tweak1007.aspx
  4. Try Reseating the card in the ISA slot. Most of the time I've seen that error, the card just needed to be reseated. Not sure if it will help you, but it's worth a try.
  5. You need to find the "Clear CMOS" jumper on the motherboard. Or you could look for the setting in the BIOS for "Reset ESOD data" or "Reset Configuration Data", it's usually under the section in the BIOS that has the option "Plug-n-Play OS Installed=Yes or No"
  6. OK, if you see the message "Windows is Logging on" and then you start to see your desktop, but then the computer goes right back to the logon page, it sounds like this is your problem: theis registry key under "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon" you Will Find this: "Userinit"="C:\WINDOWS\system32\userinit.exe," that is exactly what yours should look like. i know there is some adware/spyware program that changes that value to something else, but I cant remember what it was called. You will have to be able to access and edit your registry to fix this, or you can use the "reg" command in cmd. I hope that helps you. You might want to look into making a PE Disk, just google "PE Builder", and go from there, you will be able to access the registry of a system that cant boot from the disk you make using PE Builder.
  7. Check this site out and see if this utility works for ya: http://chitchat.at.infoseek.co.jp/vmware/vdk.html This utility is supposed to be able to mount the VMwares virtual hard drive files.
  8. Acronis True Image is the best I've used. It's very easy to use/setup. The only problem is that when you make a floppy set to boot from, it's like 6 disks, and the only reason I like to use floppy is because I can have one hard drive per IDE controler, this makes imaging the hard drive faster, but if you have a board with RAID, or like a PCI promise card, you can still have one hard drive per controller, and then boot Acronis from a CD. So enough Rambling, I would recamend Acronis True Image.
  9. Well, here I go again with one of my opinions. Dell is f***ing crap. I work on more DELL's at my work than any other system, the second most system I work on is HP. They both suck a**. Build your own computer so then you know exactly what you are getting, and thats brand name. DELL buys what ever crap they can to put in their s*** systems. I've never had to call their tech support, wel, because I'm a tech, but like many have already said, and from what I have herd, their tech support sux. Bottom Line is: 1. Dell sucks. 2. Build your own computer.
  10. Well, Kazaa is crap, viruses, bad downloads, you name it. You should try Emule or Shareazaa. Those are much better clients, and the edonkey network is awsome, never had a bad download from it. If your content on using Kazaa, I need some more info on the problem. 1. Can you get online? 2. Do you have a hardware/software firewall. 3. Some ISP's block popular p2p ports, see if you can connect using a different port.
  11. I am assuming you are talking about "Active@Killdisk", I have only used the evaluation copy of it, and that only has access one of the five (I think theres five) ways of corrupting the data on the hard drive. It works, but it will take a long time to complete. As far as formating the hard drive, no, that doesn't get rid of the data on the hard drive, and on a freshly fomrated hard drive, I could easily get all the data off of it that was there before the format, and possibly from previous formats.
  12. Ill respond in a language that I hope youll understand as youve obviously not evolved beyond walking semi erect with your knuckles scrapping along the ground!! Read my earlier posts you bl##dy degenerate!! If i wanted F***ing Warez id just go and IRC it!! - GET THE MESSAGE you Freaking A##hole As your obviously a bit challenged on the old intelligence front Ill try to explain the scenario and keep it simple incase you cant understand. 1. Buy COA 2. Buy CD with OS = you get OS at a fraction of the retail cost!! PS Licens is spelt License - to quote your eloquent phrase - you f***ing retard!! You should maybe consider going back to school to learn basic skills! Here ends the lesson - a**hole!! lol, I dind't ask for an egnilsh lsseon
  13. I would have to agree with SkyFrog, Either your a f***ing retard, or your looking to get some warez. Now my big question is, Why would you buy a licens for a product you dont already own. The only situation I could think of is you already have the Windows XP cd and the sole license that came with it, and then you build another computer, and would just rather use the same cd and get another license to activate it. Why dont you just borrow a friends Windows XP cd and use you purchased cd key to activate it on your system?
  14. Whoops, lsass.exe isn't sasser, but it will be explained to you on blackviper's website, I have found that the Sercam (not sure if thats how it is spelled) virus will casue lsass.exe to go crazy.
  15. http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcen...moval.tool.html, thers the link to get rid of sasser for ya, make sure to update windows XP regulary, and especially after you remove the virus with that removal tool, or you'll just get it again, and again, and again. http://www.blackviper.com/index.html this is a good site thats all about windows xp services, witch will create the processes that your seeing in task manager. Last, But not least, your just borderline with the minimun specs to run just Windows XP itself, let alone Norton and whatever else you got hoging up your memory. Windows XP Pro Minimum System Specs: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/eva...on/sysreqs.mspx Windows XP Home Minimum System Specs: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/home/ev...on/sysreqs.mspx
  16. Need more info on what is happening when your in the first part of the Windows XP setup (The Blue Backgrounded One), and if thats not the problem, then explain what is happening during the rest of the setup.
  17. It seems as though you can download each individual program from the whole package. I've never used Wincon, but I have used InCtrl5, witch is awsome.
  18. Thanx for the reply, I guess I could try that, but the only problem is if I can even get the game, and even then I wont be able to use my old svaed game
  19. Weel, the only thing I can think of is that your 2000 machines are not up to date. Make sure that they all have SP4 installed and have all the scurity updates.
  20. Whats you product key? I dont need it all, just the first 2 sets. It could be an illegal or flagged CD-Key.
  21. http://www.spychecker.com/program/winsockxpfix.html , try that. You should use SpySweeper, it's the best I've used to remove adware/spyware.
  22. I have 5 invites, pm me if you want them. first come first served.
  23. I'm not sure if this will work for your situation, but If you have your windows xp cd handy, you could go to start------->run, and typr in "sfc /scannow", that "should" replace missing, corupted or changed ms windows files.
  24. Although I dont have a solution to your progblem, you are better off doing a fresh install of Windows XP than an upgrade.
