  1. go to device manager, uninstall the keyboard driver, then restart, when windows comes back up, it should reinstall the driver for the keyboard. Also, does it need any software to use the extra functions on it, like multimedia buttons ext.?
  2. Check your keyboard settings in control panel, and also make sure the right driver is installed for you keyboard, and if not try the standard microsoft drive for the keyboard.
  3. I've heard of TweakUI causing problems like that, where Windows will hang for 2-4 minutes on "Windows is starting" Screen. I f you have TweakUI installed, then uninstall it and see if that fixes the problem.
  4. OK, I presume you are running windows XP or 2003. All you have to do is to go to "Add/Remove Programs" in the control panel. Then on the left hand side look for "Add/Remove Windows Components" then look through the list for internet explorer. Once you've found internet explorer, make sure that it is "unchecked", then click on apply, that should remove ie, restart your comp. When windows comes back up, redo the procedure, but this time make sure there is a check next to internet explorer, then apply. That should have uninstalled ie, then reinstalled it. Next go to windows update, and make sure IE is up-to-date. I hope this works for you.
  5. I've had this problem at one point too. What I used was Bart's Windows PE, booted to it, got the files I need to get from the user's profle, saved them to a temp directory, Changed the File permissions to allow "Everyone" full control, then booted the system back up, and was able to access the files just fine with no restrictions. Hope this helps you out. go to this site for PE Builder (Bart's Windows PE): http://www.nu2.nu/
  6. You know, I had a customer that had a computer that was doing the same thing you are expressing. Do you have a prescott chipset? if so, you need to get online and download an updated BIOS for you mobo. I hope this points you in the right direction
  7. Are you running XP Home or PRO. XP Home's Admin account is always disabled in Normal Mode. Hope that helps.
