  1. You put it in CMDLINES.TXT I assume? Edit: Yeah ... I saw you mentioned a batch file and of course, that's what I meant... Heheh...
  2. My guess is that you still have these settings in your WINNT.SIF file: [GuiUnattended] AdminPassword = YourPassword EncryptedAdminPassword = No AutoLogon = Yes AutoLogonCount = 1 It uses Administrator default. I'm not sure if you can specify a different administrator account in WINNT.SIF?
  3. To be frank, I have this problem aswell ... I prefer using the Shell setting in the sif file. Easy and nice, but It's not for all users, only current (or administrator?!). Anyone got any idea how to set this for all users? There is something in: HKLM\Software\Microsoft\CurrentVersion\Themes But I dunno if this has something to do with this matter... Edit: Hummmm ... at work we use romaing profiles and that, of course, answers my question... Hehe...
  4. If I recall correctly, SpyBot - Search And Destroy blocks about 8,500 "threats". Are there any relation between this .reg file and SpyBot? PS: A good job indeed! )
  5. Still have a few problems, but this really got me started ... well done mate!
  6. You can use winrar to unarchive the original .exe file. When you've done that you can install Directx silently: DXSETUP.EXE /SILENT The new DirectX version (for dec2005) is in fact a new version of DirectX, but with not-that-many updates. Edit: Check this link Bink.nu. It's an article where Steven Bink ponders about how/when Microsoft sets versions.
  7. @All: I agree ... It's the way of the walk! Step by step ...
  8. For convinience I WinRAR some applications, but if I can I keep the applications uncompressed on the DVD. Saves copytime and unpacking time. It's a pretty significant timesaver. Edit: And it saves editing time not needing to prepare and compress WinRAR archives.
  9. Hmmm ... I'm curious about this myself . A thought - maybe you can: 1. format the drives as a MS-DOS startup disk (right-click the usb-stick and choose format, cross the option for formating as a startupdisk - which is in fact a Windows ME startup disk). 2. Copy all files (OS + extras AND winnt.sif) 3. Run the installation from commandline. Create a .bat file which runs the installation and points to the .sif file. Could this work? Are there any better methods? Or what?
  10. I found out for myself... It seems mighty MS got a hotfix for this little thingy. For those who has any interest in this matter, can check the KB here: BTW: My problems concerning this is with Windows Messenger v5.1.0700
  11. Hey ya'll! Where I work we use Windows Messenger. During installation I get a message that I have to close certain applications (like for example Symantec Antivirus) in order to install the application. The ordinary /qb or /qn switch doesn't help. My question is: Are there any extra options for installing Windows Messenger? I have searched MSFN Forums, and Googled a lot, but haven't been able to find anything. As an example, here are several additional options for Symantec Antivirus...: "Symantec Antivirus.msi" RUNLIVEUPDATE=0 NETWORKTYPE=2 REBOOT=ReallySupress /qb!- Cheers, Anderz B)
  12. This is what I use, and I think it's what you're after: ; --- - - Sets classic control panel [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer] "ForceClassicControlPanel"=dword:00000001 Edit: But, does it show large icons I ponder?
  13. Yes, I'd like to create a connetion - as if I ran the "Add new connection" wizard in Windows XP. I just wonder if there's any utility or a way to script this. I've searched a lot, but haven't been able to find anything yet...
  14. Hey guys! I want to create a standard VPN connection using a .vbs script or batch language. Does any of you guys know how it can be done or where I can find any information about this? I've searched my fingers off trying to find something about this.
  15. I have put all my new fonts in $$\Fonts and run the thing mentioned by maxXPsoft. It works kike a charm! PS: Only using $$\Fonts didn't work for me dudes ...
  16. Anyone checked the config.ini file in the Mozilla v1 package? You can chose Silent (at the very top there), but it doesn't work for me (yet). I'll check out some online documentation!
  17. Nope, but: /q - stands for quiet... /o - overwrite? /r - suppress reboot? or force reboot? Have no idea .. test it BB! Gotta go .. PM me if it worked ...
  18. A bit of googling ... try it - maybe it works! You don't have to reinstall to try it. Just run the command and see if you get an error or not (atleast)... Hehe ...
  19. Are you certain the /S is the correct switch? I found this:
  20. Are you using any switches on that .exe? Have you tried to /? the executable? Can you post your RunOnceEx?
  21. It's absolutely a BIOS setting ... But on the other hand .. I found this: here: http://www.winguides.com/registry/display.php/196/
  22. Hehehe ... Mr Prathapml! I checked the guide and didn't see it there. When saying T-13 I meant around that time ... anyway .. your information is golden! Thanks!
