  1. Eherm ... when in the Windows XP installation timeline is OOBE run? T-13? I currently use a cmd via cmdlines.txt....
  2. Like the topic title says, I want to have the "Also Reset My Home Page" check box cleared by default. Tried to take a look in the registry, but couldn't really find anything. The problem (in IE) is here: Tools\Internet Options\Programs\ Hit the button "Reset Web Settings" and the box appears...
  3. Hey guys! I know there are several excellent Windows XP timelines - but what about Windows 2000 Pro? For instance: You have to put winn.sif in a floppy. At what time of installation can I eject the floppydisk? (<- This is my main question really!)
  4. @prathapml Swell! Your postings saves us a looot of time ... indeed!
  5. I'll see if I've got time to test myself tonight ... anyways ... keep us posted!
  6. I have no idea dude ... I haven't tested this at all. What you say sound logic though ... Use VPC and test it. Maybe it works mate!
  7. I extracted the latest Intelligent Updater file. In that I found a file called update.txt. A simple cmd file should solve your problem if I understand it correctly. It says:
  8. The fact that you actually fired the dude, SHOULD be enough to scare the others! I know I would look over my shoulders twice all the time...
  9. ;Set wallpaper, screensaver, etc. properties [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop] "PowerOffActive"="0" "PowerOffTimeOut"="0" "ScreenSaverIsSecure"="0" "ScreenSaveTimeOut"="1000" "ScreenSaveActive"="0" "TileWallpaper"="0" "Wallpaper"="" "WallpaperStyle"="0" "OriginalWallpaper"="" "WheelScrollLines"="3" "Pattern Upgrade"="TRUE" "PrevWallpaper"="" "PrevTileWallpaper"="0" Look at the one's starting with screensave*
  10. Use a regtweak: ;Set wallpaper, screensaver, etc. properties [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop] "PowerOffActive"="0" "PowerOffTimeOut"="0" "ScreenSaverIsSecure"="0" "ScreenSaveTimeOut"="1000" "ScreenSaveActive"="0" "TileWallpaper"="0" "Wallpaper"="" "WallpaperStyle"="0" "OriginalWallpaper"="" "WheelScrollLines"="3" "Pattern Upgrade"="TRUE" "PrevWallpaper"="" "PrevTileWallpaper"="0" Remove whatever you don't need. You'll find it here. Set original wallpaper as the same as wallpaper!
  11. Hey! I need a w2kboot.bin file for Windows 2000 Professional. I've been looking and looking, but can't find it anywhere. Can someone supply me with that little bugger? EDIT: Nevermind this posting ... I got it. Finally got a true 2kp cd...
  12. @crahak Me too ... I like to be in control when it comes to partitioning!
  13. Or you can use this vbs. It doesn't require anything.... Change the stuff in capital letters. (btw: this one is tested and works great ... renames admin, and some other stuff ... mmhm ... disables Guest account .. resets admin account password. Check it out: On Error Resume Next strComputer = "." strCompPass = "SETYOUROWNPASSWORD" strRemoveHA = "HelpAssistant" strRemoveSup = "SUPPORT_388945a0" strRemoveAdmin = "Administrator" Set WshShell = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell") Set WshNetwork = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Network") Set oReg=GetObject("winmgmts:{impersonationLevel=impersonate}!\\" & "." & "\root\default:StdRegProv") strComputer = WshNetwork.ComputerName 'Renaming Administrator account Set oMachine = GetObject("WinNT://" & strComputer) Set oInfoUser = GetObject("WinNT://" & strComputer & "/Administrator,user") set oUser = oMachine.MoveHere(oInfoUser.ADsPath,"NEWADMINNAME") 'Reseting Administrator Password Set objUser = GetObject("WinNT://" & strComputer & "/NEWADMINNAME, user") objUser.SetPassword "SETYOUROWNPASSWORD" objUser.SetInfo 'Renaming Guest Set oMachine = GetObject("WinNT://" & strComputer) Set oInfoUser = GetObject("WinNT://" & strComputer & "/Guest,user") set oUser = oMachine.MoveHere(oInfoUser.ADsPath, "NoGuest") 'Reseting Guest Password Set objUser = GetObject("WinNT://" & strComputer & "/NoAccess, user") objUser.SetPassword "SETYOUROWNPASSWORD" objUser.SetInfo 'Disabling Guest Account Set objUser = GetObject("WinNT://" & strComputer & "/NoAccess") objUser.AccountDisabled = True objUser.SetInfo 'Deleting Help Assistant Account, Support Account Set objComputer = GetObject("WinNT://" & strComputer & "") objComputer.Delete "user", strRemoveHA objComputer.Delete "user", strRemoveSup What else .. yeah .. someone in this forum posted this originally .. Dunno who! Great job though! And, so it's mentioned, I run this vbs during runonceex....
  14. I have to agree on the last posting here, but what about http://unattended.msfn.org/. Isn't the files there always updated/confirmed working?
  15. Minimum requirements Windows XP Professional is: 1,5GB on a 2GB harddisk
  16. I know I may be walking on thin ice posting this here, but at Bink.nu there's mentioned a fix for your extremely slow Virtual PC. I have a feeling most of you use this nice little MS app so the ice feels a bit thicker now... This is extremely relevant btw! Anyway, here's the beef: And of course a link to the link to the article! Hehe ... : http://bink.nu/?ArticleID=2575
  17. Is v7.0 at early Beta stage? When will it be released? @MCT Could absolutely be a bug...
  18. One more thing. I've added this to cmdlines.txt. The problem is a windows that pops up... is it possible to do this silent? Yes it is - just add /s like this: regsvr32 /u /s mydocs.dll Hopefully this will work on Default User, but I don't know?! Still testing!
  19. @prathapml Doesn't DefaultHide do the same thing? In FullUnattended all the screens are shown, right? In DefaultHide everything is hidden, except when something is commented out like you describe... I think defaulthide makes the installation extremely smooth....
  20. FullName="" OrgName="" This sets the username/orgname to blank. I think you must remove these two from your answerfile. AutomaticUpdates=Yes AutoActivate=No DisableDynamicUpdates=Yes These have nothing to do with it...
  21. Swell! This one is indeed needed! Good job ...
  22. UnattendMode=DefaultHide or UnattendMode=FullUnattended What is the best. I have noticed that most users use FullUnattended. I use DefaultHide and doesn't have see all those stupid screens (like the "enter product id" screen for instance). Is fullunattended recommended or better in any way?
