  1. ;Disable Indexing Service [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\CiSvc] "Start"=dword:00000004
  2. Firefox .. .. hehe ... except for Windows Update of course ... and work webmail! Firefox is very nice indeed!
  3. I had the same problem in the very beginning .. It's the quotation marks all right!
  4. MCT Okay, I was thinking in general. Thanks anyway! I know the services affect all users. I'm collecting all the tweaks I have gotten via this thread and the others. It's quiet a collection!
  5. Great ... hehe .. thanks! I'll look into this ... I'll probably create a new default user ... the easiest way to take care of this I guess... B)
  6. One more thing. The regtweaks put in HKEY CURRENT USER: 1. Will the tweaks be applied to all (future) users? ... or.... 2. Must the tweaks be run on all users ... OR ... 3. Can the tweaks be added to a user and copied to default user profile. Are the tweaks stored in NTUSER.DAT? Cheers and thank you all for excellent knowledge!
  7. PS: Daemon Tools v3.47 is out. It fixes the SP2 problem...
  8. What services (started default) is not necessary to have running? I have searched the forum, but couldn't find anything concrete. It would be nice net stop some resource eating services during runonceex...

  11. And the CD.txt file has been created on the CD?
  12. For the record: I have read the thread! I just wonder what the conclusion of this problem is? Can these be added to RunOnceEx, and then copy winamp.ini to %windir% by using $oem$. Is that the solution? reg add %key%\040 /VE /D "Winamp v5.5" /f reg add %key%\040 /V 1 /D "%systemdrive%\install\winamp\winamp505.exe /S" /f
  13. My posting was more or less a big Thank you to the MSFN community. I'm on top of all the aspects below. WinAmp v5.05 however sucks, it won't work and it seem to be problems with it in general.... 1. I will do that. I have tested it a wee bit already. First I want everything to work. Testing one last (hopefully) time on Virtual PC now. 2. I already got this one! I know the techniques - I just haven't had time to implement them yet. 3. Sure you don't! 4. In addition I want to deal with the Default user. I know this one too.... A lot of apps will be added shortly. Must strip down the imagesize first! Thanks for the words.... Anderz
  14. Hi everybody! In the past days between regular work, I have made an unattended CD. With this posting I want to thank unattended.msfn.org. The site has been incredible in the making of this CD. The CD features: - XP SP2 - Bootable - Modified UXTHEME.DLL - DirectX Control Panel - Updated support.cab and deploy.cab - OEM info and logo - Updated drivers So far I've added these applications - and they work with just small cosmetic problems (like: I don't want the Winamp agent in the systray!) Everything is run in the RunOnceEx.cmd file, and they are silent. All apps on the CD: RunOnceEx: - Nero Burning ROM v6.3.1.20 - Raxco PerfectDisk v6.0.x - Total Commander v6.03a - WinRAR v3.4 beta 5 - Acrobat Reader v6.0.2 - WinAMP v5.0.5 - Irfanview v3.92 - .NET Framework v1.1 - Windows MEdia Player v9.0 - Registry Tweaks - Adding User accounts I have some things I want to add/fix: - Strip down the size of the image. - Remove any tmp files on HD. - Create/move shortcuts to the proper user.. ++ Cheers, Anderz
