  1. I am having trouble getting my cleanup.cmd to work. I have not been able to get it to work - no matter where i put it either. I'm sure it's something simple but, I've read so many posts looking for the answer that i think i'm getting an aneurism! Here is my configs... Winnt.sif My start.cmd file is merely this: Tweaks.cmd is just the reg tweaks for my system - should not be a problem as i run them first at the T-9 portion of the install using the [setup Params]Lastly, My cleanup.cmd file; I Run my cleanup.cmd from the WPI.cmd using the order of 999 to make sure it runs last but, It does not remove anything from the drive. Anyone see anything wrong with this? Or am i doing things in the wrong order? or the wrong way?

  7. You definitely have a problem there....no way it shouild be that slow - even a 386 would be done by now.....

When you install it to get your setup.iss, go to the registry and export the key "[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Macromedia " and save it as Dream.reg.....When you open it in note pad you can scroll down and you'll see the section I have above. Copy and paste it, intact, with all the info that is there, into your dreamweaver install folder as a "whatever.reg" file and use regedit /S to import it before you install Dreamweaver and your good to go!
  9. Here is my exported registry key - it works great if you import it first and then run the install.... names and numbers deleted, of course.

  11. I read through this entire thread and this post jumps out at me.......Here you state that you tried your appliances on "both" machines - meaning 2 different computers and - nothing? Yet you still adamantly refuse to believe the problem is with them? I also see after you dismantled your external hard drive you got it to work......and you still think there is nothing wrong with your camera? I have been repairing computers for 15 years and I have NEVER had 2 computers that I am working on, have the identical problem with recognizing anything...like you seem to think is happening here. I think your answer is already staring you in the face and you don't want to believe it......I'd be sending in the camera for repairs.....

You still haven't said whether you have tried to use you DV in another machine.....I would think that I'd be doing that before I spent any more money....Take it in to a comp shop and ask them just to plug it in and see if the wizard pops up. If it does you know the problem is not the camaera.....

  15. I'm having trouble with Dreamweaver silent install, using WPI, when installing from DVD. I had no trouble when I made my UXPCD using the %systemdrive% format but, using the %cdrom% format , I get nothing.   16. ECS is a really crappy motherboard anyway - you'll find that out when you try to sell it. No - one who knows anything about computers will want to touch it! If money is a concern, pick up a giga-byte board....for the money they are a decent brand.
  17. Your board can accept Socket A up to 2600+. Sempron is not a socket A CPU
  18. I have the same thing happening......is there a fix or an explanation? I don't want to have to have the DVD\CD trays all full to avoid this....
  19. You say that your stuff stopped working all of a sudden and you have replaced everything except the two devices right? It seem's to me that without at least trying other devices through your new hardware you just marking time....if you have been so eager to replace all the rest, what's stopping you from atleast trying a new firewire device? You don't need to "get rid" of your 2 devices...just try to get another one from someone and see if your comp "finds" it!
  20. LOL...Well like I said....Lucky.....Most of what I heard about Dell was nightmare tech support stories and a complete lack of upgradability. I did take apart one Dell a few years ago, a 1.4 P4 Dimension something or other, for a friend who wanted to add a better video card and it was too big to fit in the slot. The pin out was okay but there was no room because of the board layout. It also only had 2 PCI slots. It was remebering that system and hearing about the lousy tech support stories that turned me off of them. I still say building your own is better in the long run but, I've been wrong many times before!
  21. Well Asta.....I think you are the only person I've ever heard of that likes Dell so much.....lol......I guess you've been lucky! I know dozens of people from all walks of life who have had a Dell at one time or another and none of them...not one! would ever buy another one. That was the main reason I got the ASUS laptop instead of a Dell....I could not find anyone who liked them - the product or the service!
