  1. Use a bart disk and start your computer with it. Run a complete system scan abd have the auto-delete enabled for any viruses or trojans found. Undeletable files like these are usually one or the other.
  2. Actually...that is totally untrue.......Ripken, if your posting a ton of posts aking for hardware advice yourself, I don't think you should be giving any out! Especially when it's wrong.....no there is not much point in looking for 64 bit apps right now but the Athlon64 is much faster at processing 32 bit programming than a "similar" speed 32 bit CPU. I had an Athlon64 2800+ before I upgraded to a 3500 and I also own an AthlonXP 3200+. The Athlon64 outperformed my AthlonXP 3200 in every benchmark I could throw at it - by a wide margin! Both systems use 1 gig DDR400 too, as well as Geforce 5900XT's
  3. Enable your IPX protocol in network properties......
  4. I get 1 ns to my router - linksys wireless router WRT54G - wired 7 ms to my ISP 23 ms to google
  5. If you have a dell.....integrate your specific drivers into the UXPCD. Then you will not get the BSOD
  6. No, you would know that if you read the write up at nvidia on trhe latest GPU's....instead of padding your post count again......hehehehe....
  7. 1. BERLIN The Metro 2. RUSH Red Barchetta 3. FOGHAT Slow Ride 4. BLONDIE Call Me 5. JOAN JETT I Love Rock & Roll No particular order.......
  8. Yup....Nothing wrong with that......
  9. Is your sound cards game port listed?
  10. Why don't you just leave it the way it was designed to work? Run the wpi.cmd from your winnt.sif Guirunonce section and have all the programs you want installed set as default for WPI. Then set the timer to say, 30 seconds and go to the bar You come back and all is installed.....
  11. This path will tell windows to copy all your software to the hard drive. and your start.cmd is looking for all your software in the wrong place. you must put your software directory in the root of the CD for your start.cmd to work. Either change your directory location or change your commands to read : start /wait %systemdrive%\install\Software\whatever\whatever.exe
  12. Check your UDMA settings for your Burner - Nero can be picky about it if it is enabled.....
  13. I just Read the Asus site premium has Dual gigabit Lan and 1 Firewire 1394 A as well as 2 Firewire 1394 B connectors and 1 extra PCI-Express slot The Deluxe has 1 Lan, 1 Firewire A only.
  14. There has been a couple of threads about Java......there is no way to install from CD without a restart occurring as of now. A workaround is to install Java from Guirunonce AFTER the wpi.cmd is run, then the reboot is unimportant since you should reboot after wpi anyway.
  15. Why don't you go to ASUS's web site and actually read? For a guy who is supposed to be "building a system" you sure seem lazy.......
  16. I agree with Asta.....unless you have access to true wholesale prices, you are crazy to build your own computer. Dell is not my favorite brand but thier top end systems are every bit as good as anything I've seen you list in your pricing range. The XPS system is actually very upgradable as well. I build computers for a living and I can't touch that price from Dell....I wish I could but if I priced my stock that low I'd make less that 1 percent on each system!
  17. Aha! You should have a folder called $1 and not just $....that's your problem!
  18. Zalman is a very good choice for exceptional cooling with low noise. As for a mobo......Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe w/ DualDDR400, 7.1 Audio, Gigabit Lan, 2 x PCI-E x16 SLI

  21. I doubt anything in the walls will be your problem. Are you using your computer as a gateway or do you have a router?
  22. Post you winnt.sif file here and let us have a peek at it.......
  23. Do you have a Firewall\Router? If so, you may need to use port forwarding for your board to have access.
