What reg do i need to add/modify to prevent MSN messenger today and MSN messenger 7 to popup at startup?

To cut out the "load at startup", you just need to remove it from startup tree in registry - take a look at regtweaks file.

To prevent messenger today, you will need to take a regshot before and after to find which key does it.

I use this....

TASKKILL /F /IM msnmsgr.exe

TASKKILL /F /IM msnmsgr.exe

Thats during install, not at start up

Hi!

1. Apply all your settings in messenger.

2. export Appsettings under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MSNMessenger

3. Run the regfile during install to apply your personal settings

I use this to stop messnger running at startup;

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"msnmsgr"=-

The display msn today, so far as I can tell, can only be disabled after a user has signed in, even then, it is user specific. So when a differnt username is used, it will pop up again on first sign in. :)
