great image! all the statistics are probably accurate; most dont add up to 100% which makes sense since someone might be using some other program. Databases is the only one to go over 100%, maybe some organizations use both? More likely a typo.

I did go and look through the site a bit to see if I overlooked anything, it indeed is a very comprehensive suite of utilities. However the actual 'utility' of some of these functions is limited. http://www.macecraft.com/pt2005/intro/ However, I would still argue that for most people CCleaner and The Rename are the way to go, as they are both Free and simpler to use IMO. As for Defraggin the Registry, The best way is to keep stuff OUT of the Registry

this looks very very good, it complements Royale/EneryBliss very well! I Cannot Wait!

you can always turn off the computer by unplugging it most computers also power off if you hold down on the power key for 8 seconds. try rebooting in Safe Mode (F8 Key), run your virus checks and spyware checks. Then shutdown.
-
I agree with @Saraband, whats the big deal? In fact I tried it, and didnt like it. CCleaner does the same job with a better interface, and its Free. For renaming files, use The Rename, also Free. Both of those programs are Free and do a better job...

anyone who is stupid enough to need one of these labels, probably could not read them anyhow.

sorry that really doesnt help. Have you tried running Anti Virus Software and doing a Full System Scan? Usually rouge files get dumped in important places, such as the system32 folder. Also do you know anything else about the trojan you say you got?
-
this might not work but did you try Safe Mode? I dont think Windows lets you change the account type for the Administrator account, you try typing ctrl alt delete 2 times at the logon screen and then logging in as Administrator? You could also access your drive contents with a Linux Live CD like Knoppix, that runs completely off the cd, it nevers touches your hard drive. With that you could read and backup your data. In the future keep your Data on a seperate partition from the Windows Partition. Having everything on the "c" drive is crazy.

Nasa needs to get wallpapers out of these things! I read an article a while ago on popsci about Nasa and public relations. They keep missing these great oppotunities! http://www.popsci.com/popsci/science/artic...1021262,00.html

yes this does sound like a memory problem. Do you have more than 1 stick of memory in your computer? If yes, are they the same type? You say about 10 minutes... Does this happen in only one game? If yes, does it occur in the same spot? Its also possible this could be a Video Card Problem, try updating your Drivers.

i hope this doesnt appear as a flame, but i feel the advice is Completely RElevant. Many people (one time myself) spent ridiculous amounts of time repairing the damage to the computer from the weak browser, or installing and updating every known spyware/adware/malware/scumware scanner/remover on earth! Most people turn to Firefox because it does Dramatically reduce the risk associated with using Internet Explorer. In trying to help, I suggest up front now, that people 'try' Firefox first, its proven in my experience to be the best solution to the majority of these problems. As long as these unneccessary problems abound, and as long as Firefox is schooling Internet Explorer, you're going to hear people preach about Firefox! Actually I've noticed an interesting anti-firefox response from some people, not really on msfn, but in other corners of the web. Yeah, I use Firefox, I'm not trying to be subtle about it! Just being freindly
-
yes my post is Spam in some sense. But Im sure I speak for many ex-Internet Explorer users when I wanna scream at people who still use it and have problems everyday. Firefox is a Free and OpenSource Web Browser that is much better than Internet Explorer in many respects.

i never heard of this problem with FIREFOX!? http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/

How Can I Change Right-click Menu For Wmp10
DigeratiPrime replied to rocksoccer's topic in Windows XP
if you want to disable the shell extensions (right click options) for WMP those keys have been posted, try Searching the Forums here. You could also use ShellExView http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/shexview.html Unless you mean something else? -
Can Xp Media Center Do This?
DigeratiPrime replied to Rob00GT's topic in Windows XP Media Center Edition
Good News: Here's straight from the "My Movies" FAQ: MCE has built in Parental Control features for both TV and DVD. The aformentioned plugin, integrates with those controls as well. I dont know much about Extenders as mentioned, but you can also visit xpmce.com and thegreenbutton.com for more information. BTW a case that might 'fit' what you need, is something like the Antec Sonata, Reviews: http://arstechnica.com/reviews/hardware/sonata.ars http://www.procooling.com/reviews/html/ant...case_review.php It's Quiet, somewhat living room freindly, and can house your hard drives. Newegg, has it for $100 + SHP. http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproductdesc....watch&ATT=Cases and if your building this yourself, dont forget to buy the MCE remote. http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc....-100-851&depa=0 Wow I only have 20 something GB of Music and alot of that is Lossless, haha. Use a program like Tag & Rename or Abander TagControl to 'tag' all your music files and albums properly. Its especially important in Media Center, because you will want the thumbnails to appear and to be able to sort by genre, artist, etc. -
easy solution to make all (consumers) happy: during Windows Setup have an Express/Complete Install and Custom/Minimal Install! WOW! Why is that a problem?

Can Xp Media Center Do This?
DigeratiPrime replied to Rob00GT's topic in Windows XP Media Center Edition
first i dont think all the fan noise is necessary, if you manage airflow correctly you dont need 6 80mm fans, I suggest aiming for (2) Low RPM 120mm fans. As for ripping dvd's you sound like you know how to do this, the easiest way I found is with DVD shrink or DVD Decrypter (both are Free) set to rip directly to ISO. XP MCE doesnt come ready with a "My DVD's", this is the plugin for that (donation-ware): Review: http://www.htpcnews.com/main.php?id=mcedvd_1 Homepage: http://www.binnerup.dk/mce/mydvdcollection/ Unfortunately I have little knowledge about the eXtenders. Please report back, Im interested in doing something like this myself. -
i actually have some experience making movies with flash. To save flash movies loaded within movies, you going to need the name of that swf file. You would need to either find the swf file using a program like HTTrack or use a SWF Decompiler Program to view the actionscript. [EDIT] @horsecharles an Easier Method with Firefox. If you cannot right click either because its disabled (theres an extension for that if you wish) or because the Flash Movie is the entire window, there are 2 easy solutions to get that movie: 1) is to choose Tools>Page Info from the Menu Bar, thats the same as i mentioned with the screenshot except it works when right click doesnt. 2) is use page history, much better in firefox again, especially if you get the "Enhanced History Manager" extension.

unfortunately ive had no success doing that either, but its not significant as the one in the Start Menu works. Below is a list of locations in case someone may need it. http://www.aqua-soft.org/board/showthread.php?t=17496 shell:Common Administrative Tools shell:Administrative Tools shell:SystemX86 shell:My Pictures shell:Profile shell:CommonProgramFiles shell:ProgramFiles shell:System shell:Windows shell:History shell:Cookies shell:Local AppData shell:AppData shell:Common Documents shell:Common Templates shell:Common AppData shell:Common Favorites shell:Common Desktop shell:Common Menu shell:Common Programs shell:Common Startup shell:Templates shell:PrintHood shell:NetHood shell:Favorites shell:Personal shell:SendTo shell:Recent shell:Menu shell:Programs shell:Startup shell:Desktop shell:Fonts shell:ConnectionsFolder shell:RecycleBinFolder shell:PrintersFolder shell:ControlPanelFolder shell:InternetFolder shell:DriveFolder shell:NetworkFolder shell:DesktopFolder

im still using 6.6.0.3, I now wait a bit before 'updating'.

What is 'Best'? As @DL mentioned, too often we think in terms of brands. I like Nintendo because its got an excellent record of Innovation, and Great Games. Today they're an underdog in their business, but they manage to outperform thier larger competitors. AMD was the underdog, but went against the clock speed rule favored by Intel and won. There chips tend to outperform Intel in speed and cost. Google is the company I would want to work for. Its a very creative, productive, and efficient company. That is making a very positive global impact at light speed.
-
if microsoft really wanted to do us a favor in terms of security, they would let us remove internet explorer integration from windows. ill probably slipstream this 'update' anyways though, unless they address the above.

the case nuhi reffered to was the Enermax CS-718. A review of that: http://reviews.pimprig.com/cases/enermax_c...ow_atx_case.php
