search for answers, dont pollute the forum! but im nice, this registry tweak will disable the service. ;System Restore [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\srservice] "Start"=dword:00000004

I've actually had this error for some time. No big deal though. When the batch file says access is denied just MANUALLY move the $1 folder to where it belongs and then continue the batch it will finish fine. Not a real fix but an easy solution.

Spyware Removal and Prevention Tutorial
DigeratiPrime replied to oofki's topic in Networks and the Internet
I just want to be sure everyone is aware of THE ALTERNATIVE. I used to do what the poster above suggests EVERYDAY, but I don't anymore To prevent ALL spyware from ever coming across your browser just use Firefox. If you use Firefox you will never need to remove spyware since there will be none. If you surf the web with Firefox you will never get any spyware or other garbage on your computer this way. You will save soo much time! Discalaimer Firefox is NOT going to prevent spyware from sponsorware apps such as messenger plus which install adverts to pay for the software or if you download viruses and such off of p2p. -

WMP10 Slipstreamer Version 1.1
DigeratiPrime replied to Bâshrat the Sneaky's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
This sounds great, awesome site update btw! Will test in vmware asap! [EDIT] NOTE: This will not work if you remove Windows Media Player beforehand using nlite. I already tried. 1)Used Bâshrat the Sneaky's WMP10 Slipstreamer v1.0 ENGLISH (copied files to I386 and edited HIVEDEF.ini as instructed) 2)Added "Bâshrat the Sneaky's MassStorage DriverPack" using Method 1. 3)TESTED with VMWARE & Confirmed Working! I was able to Install the Energy Bliss Visualization as normal in runonceex.cmd as well. REG ADD %KEY%\010 /V 1 /D "%CDROM%\Software\MP10_EnergyBlissViz.exe /Q" /f -

CoolWebSearch, how to remove?
DigeratiPrime replied to Farstrider's topic in Networks and the Internet
Actually I know its not completely true what I said, since spyware can be installed through other means such as P2P and some 'sponsor-ware'. But MOST people get Spyware through some 'weak' browser namely IE, the SIMPLE answer is Firefox. Good luck with CWS I had to help someone with that once, i cannot remember how that went it was 2 years ago, ugh... Want the Best of both worlds here is my advice: 1) Get Firefox (you knew that was coming). 2) If user 'resists' try changing the Firefox Theme to Luna so it looks almost identical to IE. 3) Install "IEview" extension in Firefox, so you can use IE when you need to. Set Internet Security to HIGH in Control Panel>Internet Options. 4) Enjoy the Internet as usual, but notice how free you feel since no longer get spyware on your machine and have to run adaware everyday. -
CoolWebSearch, how to remove?
DigeratiPrime replied to Farstrider's topic in Networks and the Internet
I am the Firefox Troll, you need Firefox! An ounce of prevention is worth more than a pound of cure. In other words use Firefox and you will never see spyware -including CWS- again! -
Wow thats pretty sweet (bookmark)! I still prefer to use the media player with the OS loaded, particularly foxytunes!

I was planning on trying xplode soon, I had no idea a new version was in the works. Now sounds like a good time. I'd be glad to play around with it. How do I get the latest build, pm you?

i have a friend whos mother plays this game too much and shes uses the trainer you refer too. It says in the trainers nfo file that if you have it on and take your character outside it will crash, so you've been warned. There is a newer +9 Trainer that may not have this problem. http://www.megagames.com/cracks/html/t913280_0.htm Otherwise use the built in cheats or get the hacked objects.

Unbelievable problem with Firefox installation

instead of owner would it not be better to set it as default user? -
Where does photoshop elements store the registration information such as the Serial and Name? I dont see it in the registry. No luck yet with a Silent Install, I will have to look through how people are doing this with the Full Photoshop there is probably some similarities. Otherwise I found how to Hide the Registration Request each time the program opens. Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 ;Hide Registration Nag in Photoshop Elements 3 on each program start. [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Adobe\PhotoshopElements\3.0\Registration] "PRODREG"=dword:65686669

i hate to sound trollish, but all I 'want' to say is "Firefox perhaps"?
-
NOOOO!!!!!! Trust me, "ONLY" use Internet Explorer (IE) on the few sites you may need it for, such as Windowsupdate.com (even then you can download the hotfixes from the appropriate MS bulletins using Firefox ). With Firefox, Spyware and other 'crap' becomes a thing of the past. Really. Stop worrrying about this stuff everyday and just use Firefox.

Open Event Viewer and check to see if anything is logged in there. Start>Run>eventvwr.msc My first guess is the memory, bad ram will cause the system to randomly die. Also though the temp isnt "too high" maybe the kill switch is set low? And I doubt this applies but I've met people who aimed space heaters at themselves and their computers

any recommendations for DVD copy software?
DigeratiPrime replied to ceez's topic in Software Hangout
I like to remove the PUO's and whatnot, you need to first 'decrypt' the dvd in order to do this. http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/guides.htm 1) DVD Decrypter 2) Clonedvd + Anydvd 3) DVD Shrink -
Need Help Speeding up WinXP Pro boot (disable?)
DigeratiPrime replied to RichTJ99's topic in Windows XP
id bet your speed problem IS norton! Seriously. Not only is it 'poor' at virus detection, it the clunkiest software i know of next to aol. Disabling services will speed up your boot and use less resources while your pc is on. Blackviper (use google) has a good explanation of these and a list of reccomended settings. Was the SP2 update slipstreamed? otherwise ive noticed it slows things down, slipstreaming it though has no affect on system performance according to many users, including myself. -
it installs with an MSI, its just burried within several folders on the CD, if I remeber right.
