  1. I fail to see how c#/.net is superior to c++ .net always uses JIT which even if user is unaware of, is slow and chokes CPU core not to mention its not real compile when you "make an app" unlike vb/c++ which are pure compile, no JIT optimization is needed and their compiled apps "just run"
  2. meh I don't care for old IE, it can't support squat as for % I already did that (1st post), I got same results as with em while now with px it looks same on all browsers (altho many dislike px, but seems to be best solution)
  3. good point I always thought system is one that sets the "default font size" ok so to pixels i will switch, thanks
  4. yes same link but I don't know which browser renders it correctly then I'm lost (actually I'm pissed)
  5. people often recommend to start with C (not C#) then move to either Visual Basic or C++ or C# (.net) C++ being most hardest to work with but one can do anything with it
  6. on Opera 11 and 12, old firefox (4 i think) my webpage which has in css set-up "font-size" to 1em and 1.4em, worked but on new Iron/Chrome, Firefox and Opera 15/16/17(chrome) the size in em is simply totally different rendered (site always zoomed in 100% - normal) check the screencaps, left is older, right is newer browsers: http://i39.tinypic.com/14o0uhk.png so what the hell is happening ? this isn't something ancient... it is css 2 so just in case I switched to % so I tried with 105%, then 112% and guess what... yet again huge difference in font size render seems like only Opera 11 and 12 render it correctly, while all other browsers are stubborn forcing their own crap so again what the hell is happening ?
  7. I have never experienced this on my win7
  8. I would like to see them also. Can you confirm that the 2nd and 4th screenshot that Jorge reposted above from Thurrott are from that build? no they aren't those were only concept pic's but 3rd one IS from leaked build, and was re-enabled by user known to beta scene named Ken Oath (I have his video doing it if anyone is interested to see) he re-enabled 80% activity centers (then)
  9. I don't understand why is everyone so afraid that this metro crap will take over the world MS does not make standards, people do why comply to their crap designs ?
  10. I will be banned if I do
  11. pfff after you see that win 98 still use TO-DAY who ever thinks after 2014 XP will "die" is complete id1ot or simply works for M$ to spread paranoia the only problem with XP that I see are drivers, as manufacturers will stop making them and unfortunately Hardware will be be harder to find of that era (I can't even find any Geforce or Ati GPU's in any stores, only via re-sellers on inet)
  12. the flat crap is only forced by M$ I will never favor such sites and always avoid them don't care how "modern" they call it, its crap
  13. time to bump this post, what about DotGNU Project (the portable .net), I see that for windows last compile was at end of year 2011 and project is dead BUT does anyone know to which microsoft's versions did this project "parallel"/compete , as in to v2 or 3.5 ? I can confirm it "replaces" 3.5/sp1 in some areas which is wonderful, takes 135 MB on HDD and doesn't throw annoying background running processes or JIT
  14. only by keylogger or if they are cached, as mentioned above one of nirsoft util's
  15. use rt7lite or wintoolkit vlite is bad for win7, even tho it half supports RTM
  16. seriously... XP without pagefile consumes what ? less than 1 GB ? if you can't have that on your 80 GB hard drive then seriously remove junk you have installed
  17. not really, there was an article last week (?) how ms 1st gives to these agencies list of vulnerabilities (privately), backdoor ones BEFORE they release hotfixes and these fixes can come... who knows when
  18. At least XP wasn't included in PRISM control, therefore atl east in that segment, it is securer than Vista and above.
  19. the only 4 "updates" I'd like to see are 1. disable verclsid (yes I know this can be bypassed manually) 2. disallow malware to easy install on/as System account 3. deattach ie, thus allow it to be removed (leaving mshtml as it is ofcorse) 4. make small generic SATA drivers pack 4.1 same for USB 3
  20. the only technician that lives in my town (its small town so its just 1 tech), he stinks on alcohol when came few times, later I found out hes a drunk a** alocohilc
  21. vinifera

    Disc defrag

it should stop, as it starts and runs only when PC is idle you can also run taskmanager and look if defrag.exe is there while you work
  22. dunno how its in your countries, but in mine on ISP phone (tech support) are students that work as part time jobs and their knowledge is less than zero its hilarious when I heard them (this was 2 yrs ago) still list paper scripts to find answer nowdays its probably fast search inside MS word so yeh, never expect professionalism and/or knowledge from phone support
  23. its a simple fix make page content centered, and make it take 80% of screen something like this forum has then as suggested increase your font's (i use em's) that way it will all scale better as there is no perfect solution (check your PM)
  24. so in past I heard of this program and only today tried to see what it does but I see version 1 was free, and version 2/2.1 are to pay my question is for those who know, what is the major difference between the 1 and 2 or better yet what 1 does not have and 2x has ?
