yeah i know but i'm not talking about hard links nor backup folder these are duplicates of sys files for no reason, at least to me no reason i mean, why the hell would you have 3 of same system files, when 1 is secured in system32 folder what are they there, for the lulz ? they are not managed files (.net), so what the heck ?

Windows Vista installation - does make sense?
vinifera replied to spookymulder90's topic in Windows Vista
I still fail to understand why people take vista over 7 when 7 is tweaked vista unless i'm missing something magically hidden in vista ? -
am I the only one who thinks all this integration is simply Borg assimilation ? what was wrong with office 2007 or XP ?

this will sound so hilarious and stupid but in last 4 weeks, YES 1 full month, i have been screwing around with win7 sp1 installation doing various experiments, and all I see how i wasted 1 month of life on microslops idiotism oh holy spirits i hate them so much... but let this topic be about notorious winsxs folder, which is retarded beyond retarded its main function was to "resolve dll hell", so when each app gets compiled under different visual studio or ex visual basic, the folder would aggregate same DLL but only if it has small change something like VCpp 2010 rtm, then sp1, then patch for sp1, then patch for patch lol or even if you look at VB 6, it had 6 service packs... BUT when I saw that this shit folder contains 3-4 same SYSTEM files ok, read again, SYSTEM files, not files that came with program, but SYSTEM files just different build number, i had to ask myself WHY, isn't it enough to have it in \System32 folder locked ? why the F'ck have it tripled or quadrupled into SxS for no freaking reason, and this is just 32bit version who knows what x64 has ... so yeah I did next logical step, I extracted from install WIM whole dammned SxS and compared its files with those in System32, what would one call duplicate files and just for safety I left ones with highest build number/newer date tho i was tempted to nuke them all since they already are in System32 folder, and voila upon repack stupid OS didn't wan't to load some dll's even if they were there thank you MS for fuck up i bet even those idiots don't know what they did there

Okay, let's discuss how to get rid of these processes...
vinifera replied to NoelC's topic in Windows 10
err you want to use IE ? -
yes Adobe is retarded they cache their crap more on disk than ram

rumor is called rumor for a reason all they said that there will be no "windows" anymore but what does that tell you ? 1. maybe OS won't be called Windows, but same core (NT) will stay 2. maybe they will push .net based OS, as we didn't hear long time how project Singularity was going on 3. maybe they simply make some weird hybrid, a cloud OS ? but OS for Business is their primary income of money, so don't think they will stop compiling OS-es it would be equal to EA stop making games...

I have 3 and never used it some "experts" said you need minimum 1 MB in case of BSOD dumps, well thats BS because winblows will complain of it being too small thing is that only old programs will seatch for PF when your RAM exceeds ~70% any newer than 2008 won't search it, at least shouldn't

there is much to read this which I didn't in detail but this is how i do dirty jobs - replace non removable services with "dud" OR - replace them from nearest beta or RC version that didn't call the crap like that notification error baloon - then trace registry - which you did - "uninstall" IE, yes some dll's will stay, use dependancy walker to see what calls them // aka for what they are needed - then go manual removal, both direct links and winsxs -
and you want page file... page file was designed for 9x era, when RAM was small and hard drives were bigger thus using virtual storage to ease the system and app "load" with 16 GB RAM and SSD, ... Page File is monstrosity to even speak of there is reason why win7 disables PF on SSD's and also winblows uses it terribly, it doesn't clean it up or defragment it, it leaves trash init which then your magnetic disk grinds to find some shitty small data, for what ? instead loading it all in RAM

yes but there is ZERO documentation for newbies which does which and which is better or lighter or more customizable I gain nothing from installing OS that gives you huge amount of choice but ZERO knowledge of what serves what and which is better
-
ah glorious days of floppies i still remember when winblows 98 offered drive compression so instead 1.4 MB you get "2 MB" which was actually a bull crap then if you found an app or an mp3 sometime you could split the file on multiple floppies hahahaa ahhh i miss good old days

ubuntu is death, so is kubuntu they are bloated and resource hungry also I hate distros that have 2 "taskbars" never understood why people do that its so freaking annoying

Malwarebytes-is older better?
vinifera replied to OldSchool38's topic in Malware Prevention and Security
I loved older MBAM but AFAIK you don't get updates with old versions as they force you to upgrade -
I was always hoping for OSX to get "PC", even more so when they announced it will run on Intel and I would gladly replace winblows with OSX even if I never used it when I saw what Leopard/Snow Leo brings I was amaized they literaly (or whatever its spelled) crushed and went ahead winblows by 10 years at that point yes i know about iPC or whatever those hackable ports were, but they are unreliable and driver support is way too limited
-
see thats the problem me as win user, and I bet 99% of them like me know s*** about these Linux shells gnome, kde, some xfce and dunno how many are there and what are they wikipedia only gives their names but not what they represent even worse, some distros have 3 or 4 of them - WTF so how the hell can we know anything unless theres an app that provides some sort of relink to such sites
-
few possible problems 1. 64bit OS requires digital certificate on changed system file 2. system file protection simply reverses your changes on .dll 3. you only changed resources on 1 (main) file, and not on backup too which is located somewhere in winsxs folder (use Ultra Search from JAM software to find it, its free and no spyware) 4. you don't have granted FULL permitions to change the file ? usually its best to do these things manual on COPY of file for example if you are editing explorer.exe or ieframe.dll copy those files to another folder, make changes 1. either boot to PE and replace them (including backup files) 2. change your things before OS install directly inserting into .WIM

Do some websites out-right block connections from IE6 browser?
vinifera replied to Nomen's topic in Windows 9x/ME
I'm all for blocking IE totally did it in past for all lesser than v9 but today some pages are so freaking retarded that if you have for example 1 version less of firefox for example if latest is 35 and you have 34, they automaticly block you out until you "upgrade" I mean c'mon idiots... who writes such scripts... -
dunno why companies even install that untested garbage
