Some of that conjecture and speculation Why god sent his son to us… God: Let there be horses. Let there be cattle. Let there be deer. God looks over at Jesus God: Jesus, my son, what are you smoking? Jesus: It’s cannabis, dude. It’s awesome. God: I’m DAD, not dude. Let me see that. Hmm…odd smell… After a 45 minute break, back to work God: Let there be platypi. Let there be giraffes Let there be narwhals. Let there be unicorns. God ate the unicorns for a midnight snack. The next morning, god sees what he’s done God: Jesus H Christ, get in here. Jesus: What the … err .. I mean, what’s wrong? God: If I catch you smoking that $#!@ again, I’m sending you down there with them.

I think he at least tried it...have you seen the platypus?

I am definitely a 49ers fan. 5 Superbowl Titles. 2 of the greatest quarterbacks to play in the league. The greatest receiver to play the game.

Dynamic DNS
GeneralMandible replied to GeneralMandible's topic in Server - Side Help (IIS, Apache, etc.)
I did start using ThatIP.com and it seems to be working fine. I might try No-IP in a year to see which one I prefer. Thanks! -
Help with feedback
GeneralMandible replied to GeneralMandible's topic in Server - Side Help (IIS, Apache, etc.)
I am serving it up on Win2k Server and I did download and install the FrontPage 2002 server extensions. It should work, but it doesn't. I'm thinking that maybe there is a line or two wrong with the code. Pretty common for FrontPage. I'll just have to put some time into it. Thanks though. -
My Website Click on the link and try to use the Feedback page and you'll see what I mean. I'm not sure how to fix this and was just hoping that someone here would know how to. Thanks ahead of time!

Has anyone used ThatIP.com's Dynamic DNS service? It allows you to use your brodband connection to run a web server. You use their DNS servers to point to your IP address. They have an app that updates the IP address with them, but does not support being behind a router. I usually don't lose my IP, but don't want to pay an extra $20 a month to get a static one. All comments are welcome.

27...but I'm married with children. In which I should probably use dog years to compensate. So I would be like 194 years old. Yeah...that feels about right.

I just started playing it. I've found that I usually die before I run out of ammo. But that is something I will look into.

I had to go with Warcraft III. I did like Starcraft also. Their both Blizzard and about the same thing. Just change the storyline and the graphics. Rise of Nations is ok. I think they needed to add more to it though. Anyway, looks like Warcraft is winning.

Install Norton Internet Security
GeneralMandible replied to GeneralMandible's topic in Software Hangout
It was a retail copy and I did try running the setup from the CD...no luck. This is the 3rd time I've came across issues with installing Norton. I use it at home with no problems. Oh well. The person I was helping was able to get a refund on it. I just set her up with AVG for now and installed Sygate Personal Firewall. Then I set up accounts with passwords and got rid of the owner account. This should keep the system secure. She already was noticing email with viruses attached. Thanks though! -
I'm married with children and just completed college. I can only afford one good machine at a time. I have my wife using a Pentium 166 MHz with Windows 98. I've used it for browsing the internet and the kids can play some games on it. It works fine for everything she needs. I also have a 200 MHz and a 350 MHz. They're nice to have when my main machine has an issue. It is impressive ow fast 98 runs on the newer machines. 98 is still useful!

This one works great. I've used it extenxively.

Install Norton Internet Security

By the lack of responses, I draw the conclusion that Norton sucks. I will be going to something different in the future. -
Files for booting computer, drive lettering
GeneralMandible replied to Wai_Wai's topic in Hard Drive and Removable Media
If you are going to do a lot with multiple partitions, I would recommend getting Partition Magic. Simple to use and works great. I would also recommend just going with Windows XP Pro and do what wrban suggested in the SW hangout on the partitioning. Good Luck. -
I don't really mess with partitioning other than on servers. I agree with wrban on putting everything on the 160 GB drive (partitioned however). Then use the 20 GB as a type of rescue disk. Backup things like your user directory (Favorites, My docs, Shortcuts) and saved games. I'm guessing you have all your applications on CD so they are recoverable. A lot of people don't backup user created files. If you use File/Foler Syncing software you coud keep the backups up to date without spending a ton of time burning CD/DVDs.

Can he say that? Oh my virgin eyes. Anyway, I have to cut a window on top of my case for the power supply fan. I am going to use a pair of the nibble cutters and finish it off with a dremel. That should give it a clean look. I also have a roto-zip and a Makita sawzall. Maybe I should try those. Any recommendations between these?

I am trying to install Norton Internet Security on a friends system for them. Seems simple. I insert the CD, it autoruns and shows a screen that has the option to install, browse cd, and exit. I click on the Install option and go through all the crap for wht to install and putting the key in. Looks good so far. Then it tries to initialize and pops up an error: "MSI must be run from setup". Holy hell! I started from the autorun.! Does anyone know why Norton does this? Is Norton just crap and should I just install a bunch of freee security software? Please share your opinion.

Right now I'm using two Maxtor 120GB 8MB cache 7200RPM ATA133 hard drives. They are setup in a striped RAID, so I get about 230 GB of space with improved performance. I am just wondering what brand has the best performance and reliability from experience. Not out of some article. Thanks.

I had to go with PacMan. One of the first video games I ever played. I think PacMan made more of an impact in the gaming world than Sonic (I played Sonic and it was ok). Sonic seemed very similar to all the Mario Brother's games though. I would also mention Q-bert as a good mascot. This should ruffle the Sonic fans' quills.

I've been learning a tone of crap the last two weeks working on Win 2k & XP unattended discs. I learned some neat tricks that we use for app and reg settings distribution on the WAN. Once I get them setup at work, I'll just make a copy of the OEM folder with some mods and use it for home. Summary: Learn it at work, where you get paid for it. Then use the knowledge at home. This way you're not watsting your time.
