  1. Alice Cooper is the DJ on my local rock radio station which is on right now.
  2. I'm sorry for the delay in answering - I had been checking the Ryan VM discussion forum and was looking for an answer there. The updates I was including are: windowsmedia11-kb929399-v2-x64-intl.exe windowsmedia11-kb935551-x64-intl.exe windowsmedia11-kb936782-x64-enu.exe windowsmedia11-kb939683-x64-enu.exe windowsmedia11-kb941569-x64-enu.exe windowsmedia11-kb944882-x64-intl.exe windowsmedia11-kb946665-x64-intl.exe windowsmedia11-kb952069-x64-enu.exe windowsmedia11-kb954154-x64-enu.exe windowsmedia11-kb954155-x64-enu.exe windowsmedia11-kb973540-x64-enu.exe windowsmedia11-kb978695-x64-enu.exe windowsmedia11-kb2378111-x64-enu.exe windowsserver2003.windowsxp-kb979482-x64-enu.exe
  3. The latest Reader is version 10.1.1.33 - updating may help.
  4. WMP11 Slipstreamer 1.4.3.0 installed in XP Pro w/SP3, XP Pro x64 w/SP2, and Win7 Ultimate 64-bit w/SP1. RVM_Integrator_1.6.1 beta 2.1 being used to update XP Pro x64 w/SP2 with 5er_UpdatePack_XPx64SP2_2011-09_1.7z, various addons, and wmp11-windowsxp-x64-enu.exe and hotfixes for WMP11. The source is folder: Windows XP Pro x64 with SP2 CD which is a copy of the CD. The RyanVM Integrator is in its own folder and used by all operating systems. RyanVM Integrator > Advanced > Check mark in box for Run a Program After Integration > \WMP11Slipstreamer\WMP11Slipstreamer.exe > check mark in box Leave Integartor Open. RyanVM Integrator > Main > Integrate completes succesfully and WMP11 Slipstreamer is started. Basic options > are filled in as appropriate for slipstreaming the 64-bit version of WMP11 and hotfixes > Integrate > Error message appears: WMP11 Slipstreamer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience; Close > WMP11 Slipstreamr exits the scene. Problem occurs in all operating systems listed above so I would conclude it must be a WMP11 Slipstreamer problem as opposed to a glitch in the operating system involved. No log files created.
  5. A 32-bit program, in this case vLite, installed in \Program Files (x86)\ cannot start a 64-bit program installed in \Program Files\ - it has no way of actually 'knowing' it is there. If there is a way around this I'm sure someone will come along and mention it.
  6. You might want to check this out first: http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8482
  7. Check Administrative Tools > Event Viewer and see if there are any items listed that could be causing the problem.
  8. Check out the Win7 Toolkit at: http://www.wincert.net/forum/ and see if it answers your questions.
  9. The book: "Microsoft Windows Registry Guide" ISBN 0-7356-2218-3 by Jerry Honeycutt on pages 132-133 is the only source I've found that has explicit instructions on 'Special Folders' and how to redirect them.
  10. Check over at the wincert.net forum in W7Toolkit - they may have that option or could tell you if it was possible.
  11. You have a 500Gb hard drive - why are you limiting the partitions just to install the OS? Just create a 125Gb for XP, another 125Gb for Win7 and the rest for whatever. Boot from the XP CD and install it first; boot from the Win7 DVD and install it. This will create the dual-boot option when you start the system. Done
  12. To add drivers you should check out DriverPacks at: http://forum.driverpacks.net/
  13. If you go here: http://forum.driverpacks.net/viewtopic.php?id=4954 and read the postings you will find instructions on using the Win7 DriverPacks and how they recommend an installation. Have no idea if it works with 7Customizer - you'll have to do that yourself.
  14. I'm using http://www.romexsoftware.com/en-us/vsuite-ramdisk/index.html - creates RAMdrive in XP Pro and Wn7 32- and 64-bit.
  15. Do a Google search for AutoStreamer - it is designed solely for slipstreaming and will also create an ISO so you can burn a 'new' XP w/SP3 CD.
  16. Office Slipstreamer (works on 2000, XP, 2003, 2007) will do it - problem is it is an older program that has not been supported for quite a while - a Google search may find it for download.
  17. Go here: http://siginetsoftware.com/forum/ and download the Office Integrator; it is compatible with Office XP and should handle service packs and updates just fine.
  18. Win7 SP1 has been released - can it be integrated/slipstreamed using the Updates tab or will you add a Service Pack tab in the future or is it not possible to include SP1 as an update under any conditions?
  19. A better process is to slipsteam SP3, create a new XP w/SP3 CD and use it as the source - better results in this case. Google AutoStreamer and use it to perform the slipstream and ISO creation so you can burn the new XP w/SP3 CD. .NET Framework addons can be found in a couple of places: http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/ and http://www.wincert.net/forum/ Then you use nLite or the RyanVM Integrator; found at: http://siginetsoftware.com/forum/ to slipstream addons/updates to create your 'new' CD.
  20. Disconnect the drive containing Win7, connect the new formatted drive and install XP, remove the XP drive, reinstall/reconnect the Win7 drive. Should prevent all incompatibility issues.
  21. OEM XP disks, when installed, are tied to the system originally installed in - doubt if you could install it on a different system. If there is away around this restriction someone will mention it.
  22. Download The Belarc Advisor for information on the motherboard. (Google search)
  23. The only way I'm aware of that allows you to maintain/select your own drives is if Win7 is installed from within XP in a dual/multi-boot configuration. I know because I originally had XP Pro and XP Pro x64 installed prior to upgrading to Win7 and somewhere, way back when, when I asked about dual/multi-booting and already partitioned hard drives I got an answer that to preserve drive letters the user would have to install Win7 from within XP. I know that's not what you asked about but I've not heard of any other method. Also, if this procedure is used and then XP is removed and dual/mulit boot is no longer required I have no idea as to what happens to the drive letters previously established.
  24. I downloaded waik_supplement_en-us.iso and burned a DVD then checked it in Explorer. After comparing it to the original WAIK installation I noticed that the files in \Tools\PETools had been updated in the supplement so I just copied them as a replacement for the previously installed WAIK.
