Integration of AMD / ATI SB7XX textmode RAID / AHCI drivers on an XP
Sp0iLedBrAt replied to MikeD's topic in nLite
The original driver I downloaded officially supports SB700/SB750/SB800. I am sure Fernando made no changes to the compatibility. ASUS offers its official drivers here http://support.asus....SLanguage=en-us (under the Chipset category), so you can download it, extract it and have a go with that. Cheers -
What Anti-Virus do you Use/Recommend?
Sp0iLedBrAt replied to DigeratiPrime's topic in Malware Prevention and Security
That's the thing exactly. I choose not to download or install some Office Updates from Microsoft Update, as well as some other things like .NET Framework 1.1, Windows Search 4.0 etc. Here's the question: Will MSE work if I choose "Notify me, but don't automatically download or install" ? Getting to my point here: - why download something which I will never install? My PC's pretty old, so I cherish every free space I have (40GB HDD with 11GB on C:\ and the rest on a D:\ partition). Other than that, I have a very high opinion of MSE, I believe the positive reviews from you guys and plenty of other people on the net and I used its first release for a short time. Cheers -
What Anti-Virus do you Use/Recommend?
Sp0iLedBrAt replied to DigeratiPrime's topic in Malware Prevention and Security
Nothing wrong with it, I just don't want to enable Automatic Updates, a prerequisite for its functioning. -
Welcome to MSFN , bert. According to MS, yes. For all other questions, please post you last Session.ini and you Last Session_u.ini (remove your product key and passwords). Oh, and... for nLite questions, please post in the nLite forum http://www.msfn.org/board/forum/89-nlite/

[Release] FFDShow Add-on 09Feb2014 Rev.4530
Sp0iLedBrAt replied to Sp0iLedBrAt's topic in Application Add-Ons
As far as I know, FFDShow is a DirectShow filter and works with all DirectShow players, including WMP. One thing you can do is download and install wmfdist11.exe (sorry, I couldn't find the download link from MS) which will install the WMP11 Media Format Runtime and codecs without actually installing the WMP11 player. Hope that helps -
What Anti-Virus do you Use/Recommend?
Sp0iLedBrAt replied to DigeratiPrime's topic in Malware Prevention and Security
Avira AntiVir Personal. I went through a lot of independent reviews on google, and it seems avast! is its worthy competition in the field of free anti-virus programs. I know for sure AVG Free is not, although it has a bigger download rate on CNET, for example. I would appreciate your thoughts on this; I'm taking a break from paying for an anti-virus program, but it doesn't mean my search is over. BTW, a licence for Kaspersky or BitDefender out here costs less than 10 EUR, but my PC never got on well with any of them. -
I found v.2.4.17.183, but unfortunately wasn't able to get any switches. So that there isn't any repeating, I tried command Prompt with /?, -? and -help switches, USSF and Universal Extractor.

You need to create an $OEM$ folder next to I386 and put the files inside. Then make the batch file (e.g. BATCH.cmd) to address the files from the $OEM$ folder, e.g. start /wait %Source%$OEM$\dotnetfx35.exe /qb Save the batch file next to $OEM$ and I386. When in nLite, go to the Unattended section, at the RunOnce tab (see this picture guide http://win-x.co.cc/nliteimages.html , pic #20) and enter this command cmd /R %source%batch.cmd and press Add. That should be it More on what the $OEM$ folder can do: http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/view/web/59/ at the bottom of the page Cheers

From msiexec.exe: Ergo, if you use /qn, you will see no windows at all, and you will not need to participate in the install.

I've done this with 7-Zip through Command Prompt. Will give it a try.

As for blocking Autorun, Microsoft solved it with an update http://www.microsoft...9e-e64ecfb35d74 and then a second update http://www.microsoft...&displaylang=en You can install these on both Windows XP with SP2 and SP3. Anyway, Panda USB Vaccine uses INNO setup, so you can use /VERYSILENT /SP- /NORESTART Edit: I have prepared an add-on for Panda USB Vaccine which you can download here http://www.mediafire...CINE_1.0.1.4.7z or in my signature. [Release] FFDShow Add-on 09Feb2014 Rev.4530
Sp0iLedBrAt replied to Sp0iLedBrAt's topic in Application Add-Ons
Updated to latest version 13/09/2010 Rev.3572 by clsid -
I have a prepared add-on for MalwareBytes Anti-Malware which you can download from my signature.
-
If all else fails, you might have to consider a new download of SP3. My advice is to download it strictly from the MS website. Cheers

[Release] FFDShow Add-on 09Feb2014 Rev.4530

If you look at pic #9 of -X-'s image guide http://win-x.co.cc/nliteimages.html , you will see the Drivers section and the Insert button. Choose to insert a driver folder instead of an individual driver and nLite will copy all the .inf files and the files related to them. You can also do the same to the Realtek drivers. It works very well in my experience. Cheers

Integration of AMD / ATI SB7XX textmode RAID / AHCI drivers on an XP
Sp0iLedBrAt replied to MikeD's topic in nLite
Thanks for the prompt reply (as always). I found this today by chance, and it is the latest (non-modified) version, so I'm attaching it here. Cheers XP_3.2.1548.37_x86_x64.7z -
healer, please answer -X-'s question. BTW, in your Last Session.ini I don't see that you have chosen the Unattended section where you input the product key.

Integration of AMD / ATI SB7XX textmode RAID / AHCI drivers on an XP
Sp0iLedBrAt replied to MikeD's topic in nLite
Well after 3.1.1540.81 there was 3.1.1540.123, and now there is 3.1.1547.124. What are the chances someone would be so kind as to make (if needed) some modifications to the latest version? Additional info: I used the original 3.1.1540.123 in an nLited XP x86 CD for Compaq 615 and it worked. Updating to 3.1.1547.124 through Device Manager also worked. Thank you -
For further reading, there are plenty of posts here from users that have OEM manufacturer provided XP disks. They are not exactly what you would get by buying an XP disk from MS, as they can contain recovery options and other stuff. These customizations by the OEMs are the ones that cause the problems when used with nLite. Welcome to MSFN

nLite has been created in order to enable customizations. However, I don't think it will happen, as the author nuhi hasn't been here for quite a while, and newer operative systems have emerged since that time. Welcome to MSFN
