  1. Moved the off topic content to here. Thank you for making a new topic .
  2. Shoot! I would have thought people would have checked the jumpers before posting but then I read this:
  3. Cool, a quiz! I guess I go for number 2 . Did I win something? Prices are low any way, so why would you not go for 4GB even when a part is used by I/O...
  4. nmX.Memnoch and Stoic Joker, could you please stop hi-jacking this topic . Please be free to start a new topic and I will move your posts to the new topic...
  5. Thank you two for your help, I don’t care if it freeware or not, if it works it works but indeed for a reasonable price. I can build computers for about 150 US$ + a license for XP, so that will be some 240 US$ for each system. I want to use these systems in public places, in groups of 15 up to 23, and people sadly don’t like other OSes then Windows here in Mexico else Linux would be used. I checked the 2 links you gave me and it could be an option if I had some old hardware lying around, but unfortunately I don’t have that. It would be nice if I could emulate 2 users at the same time; each with there own screen, keyboard, mouse, USB port and if posible sound, but I could use USB headsets for that. Let´s see if more posts come in .
  6. It must be a partition problem then, MBR or so. Just back up the drive and delete all partitions and make new ones after a reboot... This is not a hardware problem so I will move this topic to Windows XP .
  7. Hello my friends, I’m searching for Multiseat software for XP that emulates computers for multiple users. These users just use the computer to browse the web (incl. MyTube), work in office applications, use Skype and MSN. My hardware setup: 1 Computer with enough power 1 VGA card with dual VGA/DVI, PCI-E 1 Laser printer 2 USB keyboards 2 USB Mice 2 Headphones 2 Microphones 2 Screens 2 USB storage devices were users can store there private work. Normally I’m able to find information my self but got lost in Google some how. Can any one help me out please? Thank you in advance. --- EDIT --- I found something on Wiki called Multiseat computing, that’s for Linux but this is what I’m looking for on XP. I’m not a programmer nor can I setup a Linux Kernel my self so any help would be welcome.
  8. Yes you can use your old cooler on it, but how old is that one? Can´t leave this info out, had to do it: Coolermaster X Dream K640: They are like £6 or so...
  9. I would look at the cheap Coolermaster coolers with just a larger fan, 80 or 92mm.
  10. Tell me something new ... Where did you read that I said "no speed difference"?
  11. Yes, some will be lost but not a whole GB. Let´s say 0.2 to 0.3 GB . Because of the speed difference between single channel and dual chanell! Like the difference between single disk drive and RAID 0. B)No no my friend, it doesn’t work like that, especially not when iNTEL uses bigger cache and AMD his build in memory controller. You would be glad to see real life performance, IF you already can see (notice) it. Please, don’t compare it to RAID, I know that most people did that 5 years ago, but it’s simply not true…
  12. I would also know why dual channel is a MUST have. Legolash2o, why would your BIOS just pick up 3 sticks of 4? Don’t you worry about that, it will see 4 sticks. By the way, Windows can’t let the computer "see" more system RAM while it’s not there when booting up.
  13. First I would like to say that printers change all the time, especially laser printers, so when you want a model that is over a year old you will need to buy the old stock. Second, I recommend Samsung over HP ANY day when it comes to low cost printers, and guess what, Dell sold Samsung printers too with there own label on it. The 1710 is only designed to print about 50.000 prints when normally used, without replacing rollers. I’m sure if paper jams occur it must be users that abused those printers. That said, we continue with my advice: Take a look at the newer Samsung ML-3051N, only less good point I can think of is the 250 sheet paper tray. They are cheap, so no need for IT personal to repair/fix them, just replace them when they are out of warranty...
  14. Why would you? SP3 Should let you open Office 2007 documents .
  15. Thank you all! I feel way better now, guess what I got for my birthday... ... 2 little piggys, guinea pigs that is .
  16. But still, 30 watts less at the maximum for a much higher price... And when I see the price of a T2500.... auch
  17. Well, you need to know with what you are dealing when you use it! Reminds me of new VGA cards and mobos that came in; You can’t sell it without seeing what is hiding behind cooling blocks and other metal or plastic protectors, eg. housings .
  18. Just a part of it, but way less aggressive as nail polish remover for example...
  19. Skip that, even the P35 can do that . nmX.Memnoch, you of all freaks on the board, why not wait for the X48 and just skip 2 generations for the first time of your life? Or you are just keeping something from us that we don’t know?
  20. yes I feel young, and I am young . Starting to wonder how old you are then ...
  21. No joke, but I think USB Flash Drives are an exception (they smoke up and not the PC most of the time )... read some user manuals of printers, external HDDs, scanners and so on...
  22. It is the voltage, the 90nm chip we are talking about works on 1.025V/1.075V while the 65nm chip works on 1.25V. This is why people under-volt there CPUs the lower the power it drains. Also, smaller in this case are more voltage leaks . Something to read: http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn4351...eaky-chips.html
  23. It’s not the PSU, and spinning up fans doesn’t say any thing about a good PSU neither. Richard0612 pointed in the right direction, however, try to reset the BIOS. If that doesn’t help replace the motherboard, sadly enough... It’s not the iPOD that killed the computer, do you remember when it displays "don’t disconnect from the computer" or so on the display of the iPOD? Same as you connect it, I’m sure that in the user manual is says something like "Power down your computer before connecting any USB devices"...
  24. Nope, that will not work, that’s not aggressive enough besides contains sugar and other stuff that doesn’t clean but rather make your GPU/CPU dirty . Do they have thinner?
