  1. Indeed, I charge 2 hours standard for reinstalling XP and 1/4 hour for finding the problem. I charge 12US$ an hour by the way. In Holland I was charging 60Euro an hour...
  2. You have to copy the files inside the ISO first, so create a folder first with the files on your HDD for example, and then make a bootable DVD with Nero.
  3. I didn’t Google, but I would try to open it in WordPad or notepad and see if you can find any thing in the header (first block) of the file...
  4. You forgot to tell us what OS you are using. It’s most unlikely that it’s a hardware problem by the way...
  5. You have to check what other people charge in your country, so you won’t price yourself out of the market. There is no way for some one that lives outside your country to tell what you have to charge .
  6. This is how I did it: Copy the "older version" to the place were the "newer version" is but name it wow32.dlx or so. Make a boot disk of your USB stick or floppy (you can use Free-DOS also if you like). Reboot and start DOS. Go to the directory were you placed the file and rename the "older version" to wow32.old and the wow32.dlx file to wow32.dll again. You know how to use DOS by the way?
  7. I could have added the wires but I thought it would not add that much information to the picture. By the way, there will be a 54Mbit wireless network in combination with a LinkSYS WRT54GL. Zxian will help me to setup the router; firmware and some tips´n´tricks .
  8. I will start to shoot photos before I begin too, so you can compare it. Believe me its ugly now. Bad thing is that I’m short on cash; I can’t directly make the place like I want. This design is relatively cheap, about 35 US$ for each customer place . The base is made out of black spayed metal square tubes welted together. the tube behind the screen will hold the monitor and headset cables inside so you only will see the mouse and keyboard cables coming out of the desk beside that tube. The tube it self is made again out of iron, painted black and finished with a high gloss transparent paint to make it scratch proof and looks like it came directly out of the shop. All this I do myself, less the welding it together (I have no tools for it, nor can I weld that good). The desk it self is made out of wood panel with a scratch resistant topcoat in blue and black nylon edges...
  9. Sure it will work; if the fans are true 3pin then it has a RPM sensor build in. To read the RPM you need to connect in them to the motherboard. If you don’t care about noise nor about the RPM readings then just connect them directly with the 4pin adapter to the PSU. By the way, 40 to 48 dBA is really loud... Better to go with 2 23 to 27 dBA fans, this will give you aprox. 26 to 30dBA of noise... A Yateloon D12BL-12 / 120x120x25 fan at 1200RPM will move 45.0CFM and has a noiselevel of 24dBA for example. This looks like a sweet fan: Yateloon D12SL-12C / 120x120x20 fat at 1300RPM moving 44.5CFM with only 20.8dBA of noise and can be found for 5 bucks...
  10. Last time I took a look down there I saw something hanging out that girls don´t have . I didn´t know that it was sex related...
  11. Microsoft has a lot of info on there site, take a look at this: Contacts and address book: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/...0919601033.aspx http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/...1132421033.aspx Mail conversion: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/196347 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/287073 This will help you on your way...
  12. Just right-click on the tab and you see that option in the list .
  13. People were asking me what I’m doing these days. I’m going to open a new cybercafé here in Mexico and designed the workspace for a customer. * Click on the images to see actual size (640*480 aprox. 90kB). It doesn’t look difficult but as I write this, the workshop is starting to make some parts already.
  14. It will swap information from/to RAM and hard drive. I have 12 tabs open in Opera and it uses 100MB of ram. Sometimes I have 20 tabs open so you can imagine how much ram it takes up .
  15. If you use Opera you can even lock the open tabs, I didn´t use the new Firefox so it could be there also .
  16. Not only Google is your friend, you will find much information these days on wikipedia.org that is way more directly and effective then a Google search. Also don’t forget that MSFN.org always tries to help people to get on the right track if not solving there complete problem . I like to add that a person that wants to know everything needs to be curious, active (not hysterical ) and not afraid to make mistakes or to try something new; no need to be smart, you will become smart in other peoples eyes .
  17. , And this 2 years later then the topic started. I like Pepsi Cola better too, but that’s in Mexico. In Holland Pepsi Cola taste different then in Mexico, there I would prefer Coka Cola...
  18. Nicely written story, if you like you can tell us what brand it was and to where you send it so people can be aware of this . I’m moving this topic to the "general forum" as it does not fit right here in the Hardware Hangout. Waiting for the printer-story by the way .
  19. Indeed, or buy a good book about the subject...
  20. Ah, okay, yup . This was what I was saying before.
  21. That 620W version should be more then enough, it’s Corsair right? err... if that some one would tell you why... I don’t see why it will not fit. --- EDIT --- Some parts have not the best price/performance/capacity ratio. I would pick for example 2 500GB drives in RAID over a 750GB drive and an 8800GT 640 over an 8800GTX...
  22. Hi Jalex19, welcome to THE forums. This isn’t easy to do and most likely not something can do on its own unless he/she is a programmer. I have seen these solutions only in software like electronic-warehouse programs or based on PHP/ASP code generating HTML using an SQL database for example.
  23. Go with your mouse pointer to the border of the page(view) and the pointer should change into two arrows pointing towards each other, then just make a left mouse click. I hope this is what you are asking for?
  24. Remove all other versions of Office and Works, looks like the setup is pointing to another installation CD.
  25. It could help if you give us the version of your Office and witch service packs are installed. Updating your Office will solve the problem 80% for sure. I’ve seen this on Office 2000 only by the way...
