    KB961503?

it updates the file MSCTFIME.IME (which is part of XP even w/o WLM14) to 5.1.2600.5768. On my system (w/o WLM14) I have this file in version 5.1.2600.5512. So, with or w/o WLM14, I think it's worth to update MSCTFIME.IME to the latest version. Can you make an installation with KB961503 slipped into the CD? On success I would add it to the update-list/file-checker.
  3. file-checker-extension for XP:
  4. magic... yes... as long I have no idea... just another question: can you attach your ini and a list of files in the SOURCE-folder (but not the sub-folders of SOURCE). That's always the way how I inform about an apdate and what's changed No need to c&p it.. Yes, I know I've already modified the scipt but yesterday I didn't had a chance for an upload. Today...

  6. file-checker 2010-05-25 - Fixed: Ignore-mechanism used still hfslipfc.cmd instead of the fc-extension. fc-extension for XP: 2010-05-25 - Added: KB982632 (IE8 Compatibility View List May 2010, replaces KB980302) - Added: KB981793 (Cumulative Time Zone Update May 2010, replaces KB979306) - Removed: KB980302 (IE8 Compatibility View List Mar 2010) - Removed: KB979306 (Cumulative Time Zone Update Feb 2010)
  7. This is the problem: it must be: I cannot reproduce it. While searching in the code I found a little bug (regarding the IGNORE-list in the INI in combination with splitting the fc into a main-script and an extension) but regarding your prob I connot find something. Do you define the 'fileset' in the ini?
  8. What does the filechecker has reported at the beginning? Plz copy it from the Command-Window and paste it here...

    HFSLIPFC-2K

So far, the IGNORE-list is used to suppress the output of missing updates (non-existing but expected updates).Reporting obsolete/wrong updates are _not_ affected by the IGNORE-list.
  11. file-checker: 2010-05-17 - Fixed: Detection of W2K (when no SP included) file-checker extension for XP 2010-05-17 - Fixed: The information at the beginning regarding extracted DX9 was not correct, It showed that DX9 was not extracted (in HFCABS) even when it was ectracted. But it was only this. The reporting missing/obsolete files were correct. Links to template and W2K-extension also corrected. Thx to Parseus
  12. THX!!! oh, yes. Link to the old url. I'll fix it!!!
  13. Thanks. But this inside of the extension for XP, not in the general part of the file-checker! Can you tell me a file in the root of the W2K-CD which is unique for W2K but independend from the SP ?
  14. @Parseus&M2GD Thx for reporting this. btw.. extracted DX9 was detected (and used correctly) but the output (at the beginning) was not correct. New version today...

    Windows Updates

Tomalak gave the hint that it works also in HF. So I think both folders are correct. But for me, HF is the preferred place (when possible) because files are slipstreamed. At HFSVCPACK_SW1 the software is "just" installed at T13.
  16. Yes, sh*t happens But it's online again! new URL: http://mimo.zxq.net/ File-checker 2010-05-13 - Fixed: URL for update-check (new web location) XP-update-list 2010-05-13 - Fixed: URL for update-check (new web location) I'm sorry but my old web-hoster killed my site. For all users who are using automatic update: you have to d/l the current version manually.

THX!!! I'll put the link to the list!!! Yes... ****! page will be only shortly..
  18. that should work probs. When you used an older version (before splitting it into two files to support Parseus W2K-list) it could had such probs. I'll look for it.

    Windows Updates

    Yes! (but don't forget to 'makecab' it...)Or use this: - HF\IE8-WindowsXP-KB980182-x86-ENU.exe and - HF\WindowsXP-KB980182-x86-ENU.exe

    Windows Updates

WindowsXP-KB980182-x86-XXX.exe is an optional update only when you slipstreaming IE8. It's marked as an IE8-Update in the column "File". And also the alternative (shdocvw.dl_) is only applicable together with IE8.If you don't slipstream IE8 (still using IE6) WindowsXP-KB980182-x86-XXX.exe (including the current shdocvw.dll) is mandatory because it's a security update for IE6.

    Windows Updates

Yes, I noticed it also a few days ago. In my current update-list I've added download-links for ENU and DEU.For ENU I got a download-link from MS. So it seems that the downloads are still available - only the download-page was removed. For DEU I uploaded it. Does others have the Windows Messenger 5.1.0.715 in other languages and can upload them? I would like to add more download-links. Or probably anyone has the direkt-download-links form MS...
  22. Yes, this is correct - at least for XP/SP3 which I maintain (W2K I don't know...). Things which appear not apparently are described always more detailed in the changelog of my update-list: Hmm... can you tell me more about that? What was your previous file-chekcer-version? For the INGNORE-section you have to use the following format (probably I have to explain it more detailed):The tables have three columns which are seperated by a pipe-character. Column 1: Type of update S = Security update A = Security advisory H = High-priority update O = Optional update F = Hotfix R = Obsolete update (replaced) Column 2: Path and Name of the file. Column 3: Description (pipe-chars and backspaces are not allowed). Optional. The easiest way is to copy the line from the update-list (hfslipfc-xp.cmd) Mimo
  23. 24. file-checker 2010-05-03 - Fixed: Minor update-check/download-problem XP-update-list 2010-05-03 - Fixed: Problem with old MSXML4-setting was not completely solved before.
  25. What Piko is reported sounds like an error used version of the fc cannot be "b". I'll see tomorrow for that...
