  1. Thx for reporting this. The link was correct but the filename was wrong. It was my deployment-script which packages the files, makes automatic-update-check-files, creates change-logs, uploads all files... This script ingored the letter "b" which I use if two updates on the same day. I fixed this script and now the upload appears on the right name.
  2. ****. Yes, I changed the MSXML4-setting to MSXML to have one MXSML-setting also for Parseus W2K. 2010-05-01b - Fixed: Accepting previous MSXML4-setting again (now mapped to MSXML)
  3. I use it for a long time. Is there anything, I missed? I want to install msxml 4.. That's not currect. But... I can't produce this error. Can you attach your INI? not a trick... as described here, check the version of the following DLLs:Msxml4.dll 4.30.2107.0 Msxml4r.dll 4.30.2100.0
  4. puh.. sounds complicated... I thought you could create a list of download-urls for (at least nearly) all files in all langs. With this list I/you could write a download-command for the file-checker (should be just a few lines).
  5. Thanks for reporting this!!!I'm sorry but I've made an error with the last version when I've splitted the script. I've tested so much, but not WU/MU. Fixed! The file-checker is always in sync the my update-list. WindowsXP-KB972582-x86-ENU is not in the list. Where did you got this file? thehotfixshare or MS? I didn't found a hotfix-request-link in KB972582. But you should use KB980182!!! KB980182 - shdocvw.dll 6.0.2900.5951 KB972582 - shdocvw.dll 6.0.2900.5832 file-checker 2010-05-01 - Added: After removing parsing commandline-parameters I've decided to add support for NOPAUSE (again) and DEBUG (new). XP-update-list 2010-05-01 - Fixed: Using sections for WU/MU

Hmmm... I'm not sure if I can help at this moment because I think first the list should be checked. When I would be Parseus I would ask you for a log-file and the file-checker-INI
  7. That sounds really cool!!! Hrhr... the file-checker has an undocumented INI-setting: DOWNLOAD-COMMAND Example: DOWNLOAD-COMMAND=hfpicker.bat The download-command will be called for every file which is not found and which is not to be ignored. the download-command expects 2 parameters: 1 - name of the file to download 2 - destination folder I use DOWNLOAD-COMMAND for a while for collecting my updates when I start with empty HFSLIP-folders. But I don't really download it... I've downloaded my files manually and I grab it from my external HDD with another script which I use as download-command. @MH: Are there dl-links for any language inside? I saw a page "multi-lang" but how to set the lang?

For supporting different windows-versions from one file-checker I've made from your current version an extension for the new file-checker. Extract it in the same folder where the file-checker is. Two things I saw: - "Server" seems for me not working - dx-recognition not correct. Case: You WANT have Dx9 and don't have it already. Your script decides to take DX7 instead! I don't fixed it when making an extension from hfslipfc2k.cmd. It was too late yesterday... It would be nice if you use the new file-checker and the extension-mechanism. It's easier/better to maintain for us both. The same code-base with different update-lists. Regards, Mimo hfslipfc-2k.rar
  9. 11. Sure. Here it's explained and here you find two reg-files to show or hide this window.

MSXML: I based my HFSLIPFC 2K on bristols list, but according to this, MSXML2 (like MSXML3) is already included. Could anyone give me versions of msxml2.dll, msxml2a.dll and msxml2r.dll from Windows 2000 (if they exist on CD)? I need to check these updates from bristolslist, but I haven't got 2000 disc now. I think my thoughts yesterday are not correct. MSXML3 was shipped with W2K, not MSXML2. In both cases you are using DX9X as the section-name for DirecX-Updates. In general: The behaviour of the fc is the following: All sections (of the files containing in the fileset) with the same name are taken! In your case: You have two DX9X-sections in your fc. Both are taken if you set dx to DX9X.

Same idea! Some questions for the w2k-version: For MSXML: Why you can define in the INI the installation (integration) of MSXML2? MSXML2 is part of W2K (I thought). You should add MSXML3 instead... For DX9: Do you know the reason two have the options for Dx9-Standard and Dx9-Gaming? Another for DX9: You have two sections calling DX9X. "My" DX9X is a list of CABs for DX9 (DX9-eXtracted)...

I think bandwidth is not the prob. An update-list are just a few bytes and there are not a million fc-users .But even if the files are on different servers - the FC will know the URLs for downloading the current lists. There's no need to have them on the same server. To have them on the same server is more an "organizational problem". I want to access and update my files directly - just in time. I don't like the idea to send someone my files for putting them on a web-server.

    HFSLIPFC-2K

That's what I want to say in my postings above Of course, no prob: But all files must be hosted on a web/ftp-server with direct access for WGET (instead of a file-hoster like mediafire, rapidshare...). My files are on a "normal" web-server, probably Parseus can find also a way for the W2K-list...

    HFSLIPFC-2K

Yes, but I mean to split the automatic update in two parts: the fc itself and the update lists. OK, that was the start!

INI-entry is not necessary. Security-Updates (MS...) are mandatory. But Parseus can define a dependency-check in the update-tables in that way that KB981350 will not shown as missing when KB981349 is existing. And even more: KB981350 will be shown as obsolete if KB981349 was found. MS... are always mandatory. As tommy already said, it's good to have the latest binaries on your cd even if you don't install them. I thought that hfslip always deletes files which are created by hfslip (regarding the folders HF, CABS, ...). For that, Parseus has to define an IGNORE-section containing these files. CU...
  18. It's a correct behavior When using IE8, then IE8-WindowsXP-KB980182-x86-ELL is mandatory (Sec-Upd) and WindowsXP-KB980182-x86-ELL is optional to fix an error described here, and this is my solutionfor this fix.

That's possible. The FC can use any update-list, not just the internal which is for XPSP3. Currently it can be configured in the INI - no automatism. I've compared Parseus changes and there is a little bit to do because W2K has a few other sections than XP. But the changes are minimal. Just an idea for a first step: - I include Parseus changes, Parseus offers a current update-list for W2K. - I make an OS-detection of the SOURCE-folder to take the correct update-list automatically. Second step: - I extend the automatic update to download not just the current version of the FC, but also the update-list(s) Third step: - Support other OSs If Parseus like to to that...

    Windows Updates

Update-information for Windows 2000 Server: MS removed the download of KB980858 (MS10-025) At MSRC you will be kept on the current state about this update (and about the re-release).
  21. If MU don't offer 976323 then you don't have the SMTP-service installed. But anyway, it's good the have the fixed Smtpsvc.dll on you're installation-CD. Hopefully there is not the same problem that was in hfslip before beta D with the ftpsvc2.dll (see here)
  22. Of course, you're right. It's just an issue in the changelog of the update-list. The content of the list is OK, the file-checker is also OK. I think I don't understand that...

  24. Yes, I'm still alive. Coming back from holiday yesterday I'm now best motivated to make a new version of the file-checker...
  25. At least I should use these hint for all of them. Of course it should be 3.5 - not 3.51 Hmm... yes... I'll think about it I compared beta g with beta h and I found no differences regarding this bevahior. My understanding always was that HFSLIP removes the extracted files (from hfslip extracted) and leaves the manually extracted file as they are.
