1. 2010-01-26 - Added: Dependency Check for KB958655 (v2): Only applicable when using Windows Installer 4.5 - Added: KB968006 (v2), Fix for Windows Installer 3.1, only applicable when Windows Installer 4.5 is NOT used. - Added: KB958752, Fixes incompatibility with Zone Alarm when using KB951748 or KB956803. Because of dependecy-checks can be done to just one file, I check it to the advisory KB957579 which replaces KB951748, KB956803 and KB958752. The other possibility is to define KB958752 twice, but when KB951748 and KB956803 (both!) are missing, KB958752 will be reported also twice as "missing". I think it works. - Added: Dependency-check of KB951978 (for Script 5.7): not applicable when using IE8 (with Script 5.8) - Added: Dependency-check of KB975467 (MS09-059): applicable only when the advisory KB968389 is used. - Added: Flexible dependency check. - Added: New INI-setting "ADVISORIES" to turn off/on (0/1) advisories (default=1) Advisories now have the type "A". - Added: KB951748 is obsolete when KB957579 is given - Added: KB956803 is obsolete when KB957579 is given - Added: KB957579 (Security Advisory 971888: Update for DNS Devolution) - Added: KB954920 (ODBC and OLE DB Update for SQL Server 2008)
2. Thx, I will list it! Yes, SP2 of Windows Rights Management Services Client. Because KB917275 is not included in SP3, I think it's valid for integration (personally I don't use it). 1) Yes, can be. I listed both because I found no file-information for KB971314.2) I don't know. Normally newer files wouldn't be overwritten by older files. Can you test it? Thx, Mimo
3. hi Mim0! i've no idea why this is so. i've been getting this lately regularly (for both ff357 & ie8) & find it difficult accessing your website i didn't configure anything involving opendns ... i've already reported this in the redirect site (in the image i posted earlier) ... could be my isp? could there by any other link where we can access your update list?i'm reading these: http://www.labnol.org/software/browsers/pr...ss-bar-ie/2662/ http://www.opendns.com/support/article/140 but any support will be greatly appreciated. cheers! You have not configured your browsers to use OpenDNS? Probably you're right that your ISP works together with OpenDNS. I just read in Wikipedia that OpenDNS uses lists to identify phishingsites. But http://people.freenet.de is just a free website-hoster. I'm using it for many years... I'm using a web-counter (on the bottom on the list)... is this the problem? Can you test this: http://people.freenet.de/MisterMoster/hfsl...and_counter.htm
4. yes ehm... no ...forgotten it. Thx for remembering me - - -EDIT- - - 2010-01-23 - Added: KB954708 (Serialization of complex (XMP) data types)
5. I think it's coming from openDNS. Mimo
6. ? i have WindowsXP-KB961451-v2-x86-ENU.exe from Article ID: 961451 - Last Review: August 25, 2009 - Revision: 2.0cheers!Hi Kiki,I'm sorry that it seems I would ignore these hotfixes. The problem is the hint in both articles: I think there comes a new categoriy of updates. I will add this but I have to manage it in the file-checker also. I think it's not as critical like sec updates but first I have to identify all other Fixes (I think in the WMP11 section are more of them) and then mark them in the list and then manage them in the filcheker (I think a "H" Hotfix instead of "O" optional and a new INI-setting to list missing hotfixes.So... I'm well prepared... he? Where does the information comes? I'dont activated the phshing filter... THX for your help! Have a nice weekend Mimo
7. 2010-01-22 - Added: Flexible handling of file-prefixes (beta-state). Because it's beta-state no INI setting will be created when a new INI will be written. Please set PREFIX=* manually in the ini (somewhere). With this change, pipe-chars and backspaces are not allowed anymore in comments of update/ignore-lists. - Added: MS10-002: Internet Explorer (KB978207) - Removed: MS09-072: Internet Explorer (KB976325) - Fixed: MSXML4-updates KB954430, KB936181 and KB973688 comes also with a reduced language-set - Added: KB958469 (for RDC5) will now reported as "wrong" instead of "unknown" Hi tommyp, plz would you test it? place somewhere in the INI PREFIX=* and any file can have any prefix Mimo
8. And if you install it you see shell-version 6.0 with protocoll version 6.1? If so, all is good and no new option is needed. But I added some lines for RDC5 in the file-checker to report these updates (at the moment only KB958469) as "wrong" instead of "unknown"
9. I'm thinking about to add support for RDP 5 in the file-checker.Can you post a snapshot of the about-window of your Remote Desktop Connection? (something like this here from -X-) Mimo
10. It seems that are different versions available (see here). Actually I think it depends on the language. Can you give me information which kind of the remote Desktop-Client and -Protocol is installed on your system when you install a plain Windows XP with SP3? If you look on your system, plz report also - language - XP and SP3 as separate package or SP3 already included in the XP-CD from MS. Or does anybody understand the article http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=958469, espacially the table under KB offer matrix based on the RDC version and platforms ? TIA, Mimo EDIT In MS09-044 it's written that v5.2 is standard and v6.1 is an out-of-box (=separate) installation. But in every description I found to SP3 it's written that v6.1 is included in SP3. *confused*
11. I don't think so. I've also a XP-SP3-ISO from MSDN (VLK). I don't know what I should think about it... Why MS released two different versions of XP SP3? Do you understand the table under KB offer matrix based on the RDC version and platforms in the KB-article ?
12. I don't think so. I've also a XP-SP3-ISO from MSDN (VLK).
13. Such an ISO I do also have. Magic. I installed this plain ISO to check whats inside and I have RDP 6.1. Do you understand this?--- I've checked the plain XP/SP3 again --> RDP 6.1 Looked into KB958469 under KB offer matrix based on the RDC version and platforms it seems that are different "Windows with SP3"-versions available. If I understand that right. Probably depending on the language? Very funny... For the file-checker I thought RDP is already included. Wht's the truth now????
14. Hmm... is this really missing? In the Bulletin Article says it's for RDP 5.2 but SP3 includes RDP 6.1. Is 5.2 also in a system with SP3? I will check it. Strange, in my ISO from MSDN I have RDP 5.1 Is your ISO from MSDN XP w/o any SP? But with SP3 your version of RDP should be 6.1 (either included in the ISO/source or via slipstreaming of KB936929).Is your source XP w/o any SP? Mimo
15. Hi Glowy, THX for reporting this!!! Mimo
16. Yes, I think I have to add this! Hmm... is this really missing? In the Bulletin Article says it's for RDP 5.2 but SP3 includes RDP 6.1. Is 5.2 also in a system with SP3? I will check it.Tank you!!! Mimo
17. Yes, you're right (list of updates included in SP3) THX!!!2010-01-18 - Removed: KB914440 (Network Diagnostic Tool is included in Windows XP SP3) - Added: KB969395 - Added: When KB975254 is found give a hint to use at least 1.7.10 beta D - Fixed: Added quotes because files with spaces in filenames are not moved. - Fixed: KB954430 was still obsolete (replaced by KB973685) instead of defining that KB973685 CAN replace KB954430. - Added: New option in INI for installing MSXML4 (MSXML4=0/1). New in INI: Regards, Mimo
18. With the ini-setting you get a logfile wich contains the necessary information but doesn't looks like the console output. With "hfslipfc nopause >mylog.txt" you get a logfile which you want I'll check itgreat ... the unassociated file name is "1" this is totally my bad ... i accidentally put 1 as value for LOGFILE= thinking it was similar to answering YES to it ... shame on me ... this "1" file is actually what's supposed to be hfslipfc.log ... cheers! THX for the info. I think I would never found this error Now I fix it with the spaces in the filename...
19. @Martin Thx, probably I have to clean the cache? so far the following is still workinghfslipfc nopause >mylog.txt
20. indeed running the script this time is faster On my P4@2800 it's down from about 2.5 mins. to about 15secs I'll check it The current log is made with some ECHOs. If I want to echo all to a log I had to echo everything twice. But probably there is a solution to decide - logging OR console-output. uuuhhh... spaces in filenames! Yes, i fix it! the move.log is just a hint where the files come from and what these are. The move.log will aleays be extended. Do you think it's too less information for the move.log? magic.. I see the image... CU...
21. 2010-01-07- Added: IE6-Prefix-handling (for users who mark the IE6-updates with a "IE6-"-prefix) But still fix "IE6-" only for IE6-Updates. Not very flexible. You gave me a hint how to handle it with wildcards but I didn't got it. I'll look at your info again... probably I contact you. by the way:[qoute]2010-01-16 - Removed: Message "HF\rootsupd.exe does not exist." - Added: flexible dependency-checks. At this moment: optional KB973687 can replace KB955069 (MS08-069) optional KB973687 can replace KB954459 (MS08-069) optional KB973685 can replace KB954430 (MS08-069) advisory KB968389 can replace KB960225 (MS09-007) optional KB971737 can replace KB960803 (MS09-013) With this extension MS08-069 and MS09-007 as currently active updates - they will now listed as "replaced" dynamically. - Fixed: Moving of unknown updates doesn't worked [/qoute] good n8
22. OK, todo-list Yes, the file-set contains by default two file with update-information: hfslipfc.cmd (with the information from my list) and hfslipfc.ini (with your personal modifications. Two solutions: Define the fileset only with "hfslipfc.cmd" or remove the empy update-tables from the ini. Yes! It's correct now. Thx. And I have to thank to the members here for reporting bugs and giving many new ideas!!!
23. but were not ... was there something amiss in my settings for these to be the result? btw, please correct me if i was mistaken but running it the 2nd time (with HFSLIPFC.MOV dir retained as well as move.txt file inside (while leaving FOLDERSET= to default setting this time) only resulted to appending the current number of "unknown" items (making it twice the number of "unknown" instances in the 1st run: i.e., from what used to be 25 to 50) ... wouldn't it be better for this entire dir be deleted & recreated every run of hfslipfc? (i understand there shouldn't be a need to answer my last inquiry as this wouldn't have happened if identified files were moved to the designated directory & parsing it the 2nd time would certainly not produce the results i encountered.) just my thoughts ... cheers! ups... the problem was not for console-output only but also for the move.log. And also the file was not moved. FIXED & THX

Windows Updates

On quick-view it seems to be true.KB960225: Schannel.dll 5.1.2600.5721 (only this) KB968389: Schannel.dll 5.1.2600.5834 (and much more) KB960803: Winhttp.dll 5.1.2600.5727 (only this) KB971737: Winhttp.dll 5.1.2600.5868 (only this) Updated list&file-checker is coming asap Mimo hi Mim0! just wanted to share results in recent run (with consideration to the ones mentioned above):Check missing updates for Windows XP SP3: ----------------------------------------- missing (S): HF\WindowsXP-KB960225-x86-ENU.EXE (MS09-007: SChannel (Secure Chann el)) missing (S): HF\WindowsXP-KB960803-x86-ENU.EXE (MS09-013: HTTP Services)thanks! It's done (available in the next rel) KB968389 makes KB960225 when KB968389 is found because KB968389 is 'only' an advisory and KB960225 a security-bulletin. Now, when you have both the older (even when a sec upd) will be reported as obsolete when it's found. Nothing is reported when only the newer update was found (even when the new is 'only' an advisory)! CU, Mimo
25. It's implemented now! To create a log-file can be activated in the INI with the next release of the file-checker
