    Windows Updates

ups... I've forgotten to add this link. Sorry. Coming soon... btw... The new link doesn't offer this file. I take the previous link.
  2. Hey jvidal, that's nice that you found out that! I've noticed the new WMP11 and I had it on my todo-list to check the changes. Thx for doing this!!! Propably the hotfixes are also obsolete... Yes, I think also it's better to switch completely to the new version! CU, Mimo
  3. Of course, you're right! I fix it. Thx for reporting this!!! Thx for this, but I'm thinking about another way:1. Remove the hint with the shdocvw.dl_ from the list 2. Use the filever.exe (if available in HFTOOLS or in SOURCE\SUPPORT\TOOLS\SUPPORT.CAB) for checking the version of a file (Flash Player, Roots Certificates).
  4. As far I check the version of files very simple: Flash-Player: Filename & File-Size Root-certificates: only file-size Of course it's possible to grab the version-info from a file, but you need an additional tool for it. Probably: If this tool is in HFTOOLS, fc can use it. An idea... But without this tool: It's hard to check the version if a file is available in several languages and each language has it's on file-size. I don't know if shdocvl.dll is available in different languages. But back to topic: Filesize: Does WindowsXP-KB982381-x86-XXX.exe really contains many new DLLs? Mostly existing files will be overwritten. Of course, the new files are bigger, but in summary it's not very much. I use WindowsXP-KB982381-x86-XXX.exe. checking shdocvw.dl_: The shdocvw.dl_ is not completely included in the fc. The only thing is, if shdocvw.dl_ exists, WindowsXP-KB982381-x86-XXX.exe will not be reported as missing. But shdocvw.dl_ will never reported as missing. There is a thread regarding this fix. If I remember right, the most prefer to use WindowsXP-KB982381-x86-XXX.exe, because it's easier to handle.

This happens if the version-string in the version-file (URL defined by the variable "extInfoUrl") is a different than in the 2k-extension (defined by the variable "extVersion").
  6. not bothalways IE8-WindowsXP-KB982381-x86-XXX.exe and either - WindowsXP-KB982381-x86-XXX.exe or - extract/makecab shdocvw.dl_
  7. That's mysterious. I found it: WindowsXP-KB957579-x86-FRA.exe If you look at my list (see signature) you will find the reason! ;-)But thx anyway...
  8. Hi tommy, nice to see you here That what you suggested I've implemented already before your post. But after installation in a VM the util-dll was twice on the system. Once in system32/macromed/flash and once in system32. So, in PROCESSCABS (where the CAB-dlls copies die WORK/I386E) you have to delete the flashut*.dll after that. And then it works fine. Of course, there is the question "who cares where the DLL is?". It's just for me to have it proper!
  9. new fx-extension for XP: 2010-06-11 - Added: Adobe Flash Player 10.1.53.64 - Removed: Adobe Flash Player 10.0.45.2 - Fixed: The optional fix for “Empty dialog when opening “Organize Favorites” from Windows Explorer.” (when using IE8) must also be updated from KB980182 to KB982381.
  10. That's a good news. As -X- said, it could be that 10.1.53.64 is just a quick and temporary solution. I'll wait one/two days before updating the list and fc
  11. small update: 2010-06-10b - Fixed: SP3 was reported as missing even when SOURCE contains SP3
  12. I have bad news... I've looked into the *.inf, because the names of the update-util changed and also a dll is new (fortunately a non-COM-DLL). And? Not found in the SWFLASH.inf. Next try: Look into hfslip! Flash-update is hard coded. So the new files will be ignored. Now a task for the HFSLIP-community: Let's start to make a HFSLIP Beta K I'll start to modify it... But I would like to compare it with the modifications of others!!!
  13. new fc-extension for XP: 2010-06-10 - Added: Malicious Software Removal Tool 3.8 - Added: KB979559 (MS10-032: Windows Kernel-Mode Drivers) - Added: KB975562 (MS10-033: Media Decompression) - Added: KB978695 (MS10-033: Media Decompression) - Added: KB979482 (MS10-033: Media Decompression) - Added: KB980195 (MS10-034: ActiveX Kill Bits) - Added: KB982381 (MS10-035: Internet Explorer) - Added: KB980218 (MS10-037: OpenType Compact Font Format (CFF) Driver) - Added: directx_Jun2010_redist.exe - Removed: Malicious Software Removal Tool 3.7 - Removed: KB969947 (MS09-065: Kernal-Mode Drivers) - Removed: KB968816 (MS09-047: Media Format Runtime 9.0, 9.5 and 11) - Removed: KB978262 (MS10-008: ActiveX Kill Bits) - Removed: KB980182 (MS10-018: Internet Explorer) - Removed: directx_feb2010_redist.exe

Will the redist-package run on W2K? If yes, continue with:Use the redist-package and install it manually - check it with dxdiag Slipstream it and after installation of windows - check it again with dxdiag Probably you can save two reports and compare them. If dxnt.cab & bdant.cab are needed, makes it sense to make a description to add them from the Feb2010-redist-package? In the redist-package from Feb2010 Windows 2000 is also not listet. Just in the web-installer of Feb2010.

The XP-list is up to date (see change-log at the end) http://mimo.zxq.net/
  19. new file-checker: 2010-06-07 - Fixed: Update-check was in an endless loop when only the extension was updated.
  20. It was down some weeks ago but only for a couple of hours. After regognized that the page is down I've looked for a new free-webspace. I've updated the first post of this thread. But I think I should post it here again:http://mimo.zxq.net/ no plan to stop it Thx!
  21. Hi jvidal, I've heard from that from theruan... ...and I've tried to find out what's the prob. But... I couldn't reproduce it. I will debug again. For the case that the reason is a combination of specific INI-settings, could you attach your INI?
  22. update for the XP-list: THX to jvidal
  23. Yes, it's really a bed news. Fortunately tommy's script has a really good state. Hopefully for the rest of all coming updates. And yes, I will maintain the filechecker and XP-list for the future...
