    Windows Updates

I don't no I read the KB-article and think it cannot be wrong to have it activated. But I'm not sure if it's really necessary... And how to set the registry-entries? You find the info in the KB-article. I have a batch which I start manually after installation to set many registry-values for my personal needs. Sorry, that I can't give you a better hint. Cool! THX for the link!!! I took these lists from the Windows XP Service Pack 3 Hotfixes. I don't use these updates, I haven't verified them. Hopefully someone other can answer you.Regards, Mimo (page-upload will follow this evening.)

    Windows Updates

MDAC 2.8 is not needed as separate setup because MDAC 2.8 SP1 is included in SP2 and SP3 for XP (I think MDAC 2.8 SP2 is not available for XP). You can use this Component Checker to verífy what MDAC is installed (of course it should be 2.8 SP1). Regards, Mimo

    Windows Updates

@Kiki Burgh Thank you reporting errors and things which are not clear enough!!! > (1) WindowsXP-KB971276-v3-x86-ENU.exe links to german update THX, i will correct it! > (2) UPHClean-Setup.msi already has a beta (but is tagged as ver 2) Don't understand... I took that info but I don't use it by myself. I thought it was 1.6d. > (3) WindowsMedia11-KB939683-x86-ENU & WindowsXP-KB914440-v12-x86-ENU show in kb articles as for XP SP2 only For KB939683 you found that info on the download-page not in the KB article. The download-page is from 2007. So don't be confused that there was SP2. But mainly WMP11 is important! For KB914440 it's th same. This tool is from 2006. > (4) do i need both RDCs: KB958469 & KB956744? No! If you don't update RDC you take 5.2, otherwise the other one! > (5) is WindowsXP-WindowsMedia-KB973540-x86-ENU not needed anymore? It is needed. It's listed in table 2 (sec upd) 2009-08/MS09-037 > (6) would the last column in table 7 suggest downloading some that superseded those in the 1st column? (my apologies but i have not cross-checked possible duplicate among the listed files yet) table 7 is only information. All what is necessary do download is listed above! I will correct the list this evening... CU, Mimo ---- EDIT ---- (1) is corrected (4) theres now an extra hint between tables 1 and 2 for RDC. Also where to take care (in table 2), the hints are now bold.

    Windows Updates

    New (2009-11-10): Windows® Malicious Software Removal Tool (KB890830) MS09-065 (969947) replaces MS09-025 (968537) MS09-066 (973309) replaces MS09-018 (971055) I can offer my XP-List.Mimo
  5. I just want to confirm that it is working very great! Very, very nice!!! Thx, Mimo
  6. A agree! I would also suggest don't changing HFSLIP in this way. So far HFSLIP is doing its job absolutly fine.My way to use HFSLIP is to download every patch&update (at least monthly - patch-day) and save it in my download-folders. Than I use my "HFSLIP-front-end" (a batch-file) that I start with params (IE-Version, ...) and it copies all needed files from my download-folders to the HFSLIP-working-directory (I always starting with an empty HFSLIP-folder-structure). After that it starts HFSLIP. This script is also updated monthly (at least). That would be the reason for me for a separate frontend. Mimo
  7. Hi tommyp, thanks for answering!!! ??? I installed XP with the integrated Windows Installer 4.5. After installation I couldn't install the MBSA. When should I reboot the System? The Update-List from Mupper Hunter says I can put it in HF or HFSVCPACK_SW1 with the remark: To put this hotfix in HF\ you need to put a regfile in HFSVCPACK. But I don't have a reg-file in German so I decided to put it in HFSVCPACK_SW1.But I will try it with the HF folder! Regards, Mimo
  8. Hi friends, yesterday I built a new ISO with integration of Windows Installer 4.5 with the actual HFSLIP (beta s). Today I tried installing the MBSA 2.1 (it's an MSI-download). By "starting" the MSI a message appears with says that the installer service is not running or the windows installer is not properly installed. After installing Windows Installer manually I can install MBSA. I placed the Windows Installer in HFSVCPACK_SW1. Does anybody have the same problem? Mimo

Windows XP Update List: Please!!! Please Update the list regarding the new SWFLASH.CAB: http://rapidshare.com/files/262185455/SWFLASH.CAB Version 10.0.32.18 from July 2009. I've seen that there are always still downloads of the old version. I will remove the old one. Using the old player is a risk... Thx in advance for maintaining the list... Regards, Mimo

    IE8 support?

I cannot confirm that. I just looked in the windows-update and kb968220 will not be displayed as an open update.

    IE8 support?

There is no need for kb968220 because it's already integrated in OnePiece's IE8-Addon. At least in the actual Version 1.1.0.Grab it here: http://www.wincert.net/forum/index.php?sho...=5747&st=40 You can check the installed compatitility-list of the IE8 with the following URL: res://iecompat.dll/iecompatdata.xml My experience so far with the Version 1.1.0 is: Great! I integrated it with 1.7.9d and Windows-Update just shows me only a few things I really don't want to have! I recommend this addon for an integrated IE8! No problem with missing "show desktop" shortcut in quick launch bar. But I have no experience with the actual development from rhadamants (http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=132547). Regards, Mimo PS: With this AddOn you get a nice bonus wich will not be given if you install IE8 seperately: In the folder-options there is the possibility to place an IE-Icon on the desktop. I missed this possibility with the slipstreamed IE7 (sorry for the german screenshot).
  14. I'm always using IE8. But as far as I know, the firefox needs the "plugin-version" of the flash player instead of the ActiveX-version. You will find the plugin-version also in the first post. The CAB only contains the ActiveX-version.

    IE8 support?

@all who are integrated OnePiece-IE8 Is http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com working for you? I got error 0x8DDD0004. Other sites are working. But I'm unsure if I should use that installation...
  16. Current version of Flash Player: 14.0.0.125. If you install the Flash Player (Setup from Adobe) you will get a windows service installed for automatic updates. If you use HFSLIP to integrate the Flash Player into the Windows XP CD you can decide to take the Flash Player with or without the updater. Flash Player w/o updater: SWFLASH.CAB Flash Player with updater: SWFLASH.CAB (but updater is deactivated - you have to configure it!) Extract SWFLASH.CAB from Zip!!! Mimo
