just in short: Which IE do you use? How do have identified that KB2416400 was not slipstreamed?
-
this list contains updates for W2K workstation and server. In addition you can use the file-checker in combination with the W2K-extension.

Regarding MSXML-Updates for XP: Probably this helps http://mimo.zxq.net/msxml.htm

+ 2447961 (MS10-094: Windows Media Encoder) hrmpf... I always forget in the first moment that the ENCODER is not an origin part of WinXP
-
Not so fast, wise owl... It's the origin line of the origin Beta-J-Script.@jinjou I guess you're right, that this is an error. There's just one ECHO to WORK\WORK\HHIVADD.TXT and about 42 ECHOs to WORK\HHIVADD.TXT. But what to do now? I've never noticed bad side-effect's with the current script (only the magic think with the - known-problem-here - locked login-screen). On the other hand, it really seems to be a typo. I think I add this fix and create a v4. Or any other idea?

THX for the info! As far I understood this article only the installer was fixed (problems installing DX on a XP RTM, XP SP1) and a Bing Bar (*lol*) was included.... So I think there is no need to wait for an updated DX, because we don't use an installer here (otherwise something went wrong here ).

Thx very much, I will put your link in my update list

Hi jvidal, other members also reported problems with downloading this file. Could you upload this file to your dropbox (or whereever you uploaded your files)?

new version of the extension for Windows XP: 2010-11-14 - Fixed: Avoid error-emssaged when reg-value "...\CWDIllegalInDllSearch" is not on the system. - Fixed: Set the category of KB2345886 from "Optional" to "High-Priority" Thx to pityu100

Normally I look an windows-update to see if an update is important or optional. I think I've made an error when adding this update to the list. Oh, I'm checking the registry-value for CWDIllegalInDllSearch, because HFSLIP runs in problems when CWDIllegalInDllSearch is set to 0xfffff...But I must handle the option that the key is not on the system. THX for reporting this! I really appreciate it!!! Nice weekend, Mimo

New version of the file-checker: 2010-10-21 - Fixed: Added missing escape-chars before the round brackets of the outputs from the check of the Flash Player. new version of the extension for Windows XP: 2010-10-21 - Added: Dependency-check for KB923561: it will be obsolete when using KB955759 (advisory). To replace KB923561 completely, KB979687 and KB2259922 are also necessary. But these are security-updates and expected by the file-checker anyway. - Added: Check for a problematic value of CWDIllegalInDllSearch. Thx to -X- for the replacement info Thx to CEoCEo for the hint regarding HFSLIP and CWDIllegalInDllSearch The new CWDIllegalInDllSearch will give a warning when found a problematic value of CWDIllegalInDllSearch in the registry. Also I added a hint in the update-list (table 6) to HFSLIP regarding this registry-value.

Thx! Much written about that...

If I remember right, there was a discussion here. Search for it when needed. But on the other side: KB968930 as based on NET-framework. And w/o having NET installed you cannot use KB968930 (at least for my understanding). But if you really want to have it on your WinXP-CD, put it in HFSVCPACK_SW1 (because it supports the cmd-line-switches /quite /norestart). I don't know if it has the expected effect (because NET is not installed).

@CEoCEo Good observation! I can confirm this problem. It's strange... ... but it's fact. At least I should make a hint in the list... Thx for reporting this!!!

The workaround i have to do is to use HFSLIP\REPLACE\i386 folder, nothing more, nothing less. Some info i got is: Manual download. Updated by clicked on .exe file expanded MD5 files compared/verified, results: iecompat.dll from QFE gets installed. Hi Maxfutur, I've tested it today (with beta J) and I got no probs. KB2362765 will be slipstreamed by HFSLIP. After installing Windows I got the QFE-Branch of IECMAT.DLL installed. But I'm a little bit surprised about your experience with manuall installation of KB2362765 and also about HFSLIP: Why do they use the QFE-branf (I thought QFE is somethink like a hotfix). KB2362765 includes these DLLs: Iecompat.dll 8.0.6001.18968 - GDR <-- this version is listed in the KB-article Iecompat.dll 8.0.6001.23037 - QFE <-- this will be installed Is this logical? But I must say... I tried to find out whats the reason of GDR and QFE. I don't found a description of that. And why are both versions in an update?
