@a06lp, the way i see it firefox has more possibilities than ie, if you want to take advantage of some of them you'll need to place a few extensions/themes on a dir and run a batch that is what i do (isn't it easy?). now you only want your browser with your favorites, as easy as download 1 of the first post silent installations and copy bookmarks.html to your profile folder. again for me this is as clean and simple as use xcopy command (the same way you would do it with your .url favorites). now about googlebar, well, for me it sucks because most of its functionality is provided by the search bar on firefox. you can also select to search on google, yahoo, the imdb and msfn (!). i don't want to make people move from ie, but again the way i see it, you can obtain a LOT without charge.

@Screwz Luse, just replacing prefs.js on your profile dir. if you want to slipstream it into installation, just dig in xpis and replace prefs.js with your copy

1) yes, xerox folder deleted 2) yes, files on other folders than %PROGRAMFILES% (and subdirs) are still protected what i want to know if it works for some1 on an unattended installation, b/c i replaced the file after windows had been installed. edit: if you are wondering what i did, i just hex-replaced %PROGRAMFILES% with %RANDOMSTRING% so the last value is not defined and %PROGRAMFILES% folders are not listed as WFP and they can be modified/deleted. i'm just guessing that if you assing "C:\PFiles" to %RANDOMSTRING%, windows will create the system files and folders there, i'm not sure. i just want that people with different localized sp2 versions of windows test their unattended installations with this file.

ok i've been "experimenting" a little. for people that don't know what this file does, it contains the names of the files that need to be protected by WFP. i just thought on replacing the %programfiles% strings so i could get rid of those annoying "xerox" folders. this is just a test but it APPEARS to work. plz, download my hacked sfcfiles and post feedback ps: it will be online just some hours to see if it works. sfcfiles.dl_

.cat files are .catalog files, for example used on m$ patches to ensure what you install is from a clean font. you can check for example if you own a sp2.cat file, KB8xxxxx.cat files....

well i haven't seen in the comparative outpost firewall. it isn't just a firewall, is the best ad blocker / popup killer i've used (and i've played with many). anyway just to repeat, firefox+adblocker and outpost the best combination for me

tweaks 1st and 3rd yes because i know how to place prefs.js. the 2nd is really user dependant so it can't be added and 4th, well, at the moment i haven't been able to change firefox shortcuts from the main installation. if i discover it i'll add profile manager, default profile and prefetch shortcuts on start menu.

that's true pra, but this guy never said anything about running the rar'ed file from a batch. checking "temp mode" should help too. i think we miss some information. i personally only use this method with just a couple of programs
