I'm surprised to see some people here banned although they are good members. And when searching and reading their last posts, I can't find anything wrong. Now I would like to ask some questions and hope to have the reply. 1. If members are banned, should they be told the reasons why? 2. Do the forum staff think other members should know such reasons? 3. Does it take a mod or admin a lot of time to give some words explaining the ban? 4. Who can ban a member, a mod or an admin? (This question just because of curiosity!) If I can know the forum rules a little better, I can avoid such a bad situation in the future. Belonging to the Banned Group is something I don't want at all! Thanks in advance for any reply!

Drugwash, When I still used 98, RP7 made the icon labels transparent for me. I've never tried this registry before, so I don't know that it needs such a blank line to work properly. When I read Starcraftmaster's post, I thought he said to me and the registry had worked for him! OK, I'll edit my previous post according to what you said. Thanks for letting me know. Starcraftmaster, yes I think so. Or you can copy the code, paste it into Notepad, save it as a file .reg, then run it. It looks like this: REGEDIT4 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop] "TransparentIcons"=dword:00000001 Edit: "Make sure you add a new line at the end of the script above, as Regedit won't execute the script otherwise." (source: from post 9 on this thread). If it doesn't work for you, find the person who posted that code but don't kill him, kill Drugwash instead! EXtremeDX, have you read the third post from here: http://www.msfn.org/board/UberSkin-t110483.html There's a code saying that you can make the desktop icons labels transparent. I'm not sure if it works for you. Why don't you try it?

TranceEnergy, I stop by just to let you know my problem has been solved. You don't need to download the pack again to see the file. These words remind me of the game called Bookworm! In fact, I don't mind reading a lot, as long as what I read must be interesting. And it's better if it has colourful pictures in it. The more, the better! Many times I've tried to enlarge my knowlege about computer by going to this forum and reading all the posts. Many times I've failed! Why? I don't install Windows every week, or every month, or even every year, so reinstalling a modified pack after installing Windows doesn't bother me at all. And in fact, it doesn't take much time. But because I used Vistamizer before trying Vistapack, I find Vistamizer better (I hope Damian666 doesn't want to kill me for this statement!). Try his pack and then ask him whatever you are interested in. He is an easy person and willing to help. Perhaps my post can't help you much. I reply to you just because of the flag on your info. TranceEnergy, thanks for all the links. I downloaded Ricks_VistaRTMFonts. The fonts in this pack have the same version as those of the fonts I've already got. But most of them are bigger in size, not much bigger however. I don't know how to use the Configuration Settings file (Entries_Vista_RTM_Fonts) because I don't use nLite. To tell you the truth, I don't know what an "nLite" is although I hear about it a lot! VistaFontFix is exactly what MrCobra gave me in another thread. I'll try to find an appropriate font to use with Notepad and EditPad in replacing for the missing Tahoma. And thanks again for the link of Reversefontfix. This will help me to restore the registry in case I don't like to use the font fix any more. Bye for now! PS. Don't give me so many links next time, TranceEnergy! Spacesurfer, I only see your post after I finish my post. How slow I am! Did you mean that I am not allowed to use Segoe in XP? I've downloaded some Vista themes and most of them use Segoe as the system font. If the reg tweak you mentioned is different from that by MrCobra, I am interested in having it. On the second thought, MrCobra's regtweak is OK for me because I've just got a restore reg. I hope I'll be used to the new font when editing text files with Notepad. No big problem at all.

Kindovic, we can use Segoe in XP too. It looks very nice. MrCobra, thank you for the registry. It works, even with nonVista themes. I tried changing the font size from 8 to 9, but it was still 8 and I don't know why. However, you didn't tell me that this registry would make me lose some important fonts, such as Arial and Tahoma! I've been using Tahoma with Notepad and EditPad Lite and I am used to it. I have to use Trebuchet MS now to replace Segoe in these applications because it looks better. If I restore Tahoma, the Segoe won't be the system font any more, will it? Edit: removing images. MrCobra, I can get back Tahoma already by changing it in the registry you gave. But too bad, Segoe isn't the system font any more. Actually, it is still used in the message boxes, not on other windows; not on the menu bar, title bar, or start menu, I mean. I can't remember where I downloaded Segoe UI (a few months ago). I've installed it but I have to change the font manually through the Display Properties. It seems that the pack you mentioned is a different pack to me. TranceEnergy, where can I download this font package? Can you give the link, please? Thanks for the coming reply.

I want to set Segoe UI as the system font so that whatever themes I change, I always have this font on the desktop, start menu, explorer, title bar, menu bar, tooltips, message box, and so on! I read some old posts here about how to do this but it doesn't work for me. Of course I can change the font manually (through the Display Properties box) every time I change a theme. But ... Can someone here, knowing a way to set the system font effectively, give me some help? Many thanks in avance! PS. According to the old posts, I had to modify the registry key "MS Shell Dlg" and "MS Shell Dlg 2" from here: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\FontSubstitutes I tried changing their values to Segoe UI but it didn't work. Changing them to SegoeUI or Segoeui couldn't help either. What am I missing?

I did the following:- Uninstalling Daemon Tools and Nero Ahead. - Installing SP3. - Reinstalling Daemon Tools and Nero Ahead. - Installing a modified pack. And it works fine. How simple! Hi all, thank you for your replies. I needed to use the drives so badly yesterday that I uninstalled SP3! Everything is OK now. I'll reinstal it a few days later and see if your solutions can help. By the way, I got the installer from here: http://download.microsoft.com/download/d/3...SP3-x86-ENU.exe I installed it from the hard disk, not having it on the CD and then installing. May it be the cause of the problem? If it doesn't work again after these solutions, I'll try "slipstreaming SP3" as Spacesurfer suggested. I feel a little afraid of your words though. It is the drive I use to burn CDs. They are still there in my computer, but Windows doesn't detect them correctly. So I can't use them any more. I am at home now with my computer. Why do you think the devices were stolen? It sounds very funny. And do you have any hints about my problem, Ascii2? Thanks if you can help.

Spacesurfer, thank you for the information on Shell32.dll. Not only my computer but also my eyes have problems! I must have them checked too! Sorry for that! I've just checked the Disk Management. The CD and CRW drives are not there. What should I do now?

JedMeister, did you mean Device Manager? I tried deleting them and then let Windows detect them again but it couldn't help. As for UXTheme.dll, I did patch it again. After the installation and rebooting, my computer has no CD and CRW drives any more! Everything else is OK. Does anyone know what causes this problem and how to fix it? I guess my computer is too old/weak to have SP3. If there is no solution, I think I will have to uninstall it soon. I am rather bad at searching. If this problem has been posted somewhere, please give me the link to it. Many thanks in advance! PS. I don't see any differrences between SP2 and SP3 except this problem! And it looks a little uglier because the pack I installed has been lost.

I just want to say something off topic, Th3_uN1Qu3 I also use Maxthon because it can block ads and popups, and I don't have to install any addons. What version did you install, Th3_uN1Qu3? I tried version 2, but I return to Maxthon 1.6.3 because I prefer the button Download Control on the toolbar. And this browser has skins to change, which I like too.

My sister does know how to replace it and it works fine! The modified Shell32.dll is 3 times as big as the original one. So it gives her a lot of new icons too, besides the animation. She's got what she wants now. Many thanks!

Thanks for your reply. I need a little more help however. I want to know if it is OK when I overwrite a modified shell32.dll onto another one without a crashing. I got the animation from Vistamizer. My sister likes to have it too, but she doesn't want to install the whole pack. I thought this file was a single file and I could simply copy it to her computer (we have the same OS, XP SP2). But if it is in shell32.dll as you said, I want to make sure the replacement is safe and OK. Thanks again for your help.

When we copy, move or delete files/ folders, there is a small animated window shows up. Can someone tell me what this animated file is? I want to know the name so that I can copy it to another place. Thanks for any help.

That's OK, Offler. We've already had many themes for both XP and 98. You call your theme Sky98 at first, so it should be for 98 only. I am glad that I tried it before. Don't forget to post a screenshot of the new release. And don't make your theme too beautiful. Jealousy is a bad feeling, and I don't want to have it at all.
