When I press on them, I've got this error message: Client Error: URL requested was filtered. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Your request cannot be serviced due to access restrictions. Please contact your System Administrator for further details I haven't had such a problem before so don't know how to deal with it. Any ideas, Zoinkity? And I am using both Maxthon and Firefox. Erpdude8, I want to say a little more about this problem if you don't mind. After reinstalling WM9, I have done these things with my computer so far: - Installing the Renovatio. - Reinstalling (without uninstalling) the RP7. - Replacing files from the RP7 with those from the Renovatio, as many as possible. - Reading through the forum, then installing WIA (Windows Image Acquisition) for Windows 98SE 1.0. - Installing Rsidebar. - Last night, after replying to your post, installing the Unofficial WMP10 XP MP3 Codec again. Result: After scanning my computer with Ad-aware, I pressed the Close button, and it exited immediately without any problem. How strange! In summary, I don't know exactly what caused this error before and what fixed it. Without your post, I wouldn't know that the codec itself didn't cause any problem to my computer. I apologise for all the wrong information I talked about Gape's pack and Miko's codec. To MDGx and Gape: Can you delete this thread for me? I find it very silly.

No need to complain anyone. A black theme is always my last choice to use. If I can find a wallpaper suitable for it (and for my taste), I'll give it a chance. If I can't, I'll forget it. And I hope that people who created packs, projects, and themes don't mind when I use their products. Above all, my thanks to all of them for their hard work here, including you, Dblake1.

Interesting explanation about 32 bit icons, Xstyle. Off topic: I didn't install Uberskin the way you said. Deleting dll.dll is something I don't dare to do! I installed it on XP, got the themes and then removed them from XP manually. BlackMesa is rather nice although again it is a black theme. Ah, and thank you for editing your post, Xstyle.

Hi Xstyle, When installing your themes I saw these words, "Six very beautiful themes for Uberskin." You are right. They all look beautiful. But, Xstyle, do you ever plan to make something differrent from these color? Why always blue, black, blue, black, then again black and dark blue!!!!!!!!!!! Your Glassy is also dark blue, even RedVista is not red at all. It has more black than red. I search all the Lameskin topics in hope that I can find something new with other colors. Very few. Only SilverXP and Pink are differrent. Why don't you think of these colors, Xstyle? Or can you make Olive Green theme that is in Windows XP style? Of course just in case you have time. By the way, I installed your RSidebar too. It looks nice. And do you think of making it auto hide like the Taskbar, Xstyle?

Xstyle, thanks for replying. I reinstalled RP7 and then tried to replace as many files from your Renovatio as possible. With some files, Shell32.dll for example, I had to do from Dos. I have never done this before so it took me over 3 hours and I had to restart Windows around 10 times! I have almost every icons I like now. And the most important thing is that the Taskbar can auto hide. I keep Explorer.exe (as Thydreamwalker suggested in post #34) and THUMBVW.dll from RP7 because it works better for me. Your Shell32.dll is also much bigger than that from RP7. I notice there are two Open Folder icons in Shell32.dll, instead of one Open and one Closed Folder icon. I have to use Iconpackager to fix this. I'm quite pleased with my Win 98 now, Xstyle. I have downloaded your sidebar and will try it later. Just one more question, can it be uninstalled, in case I change my mind? Thanks in advance for your answer because I won't post a reply after this. I don't want to spam your thread any more! By the way, I also have the same watermelon picture as you. Never mind, Thydreamwalker. I prefer the Explorer.exe from RP7 to the one from Renovatio. So, thank you for your advice in post #34. PS. I misunderstood. I thought you were answering for me.To Thydreamwalker: Sorry, because the more I read your explanation, the more I am confused! When I searched for Explorer.exe on drive C, I had two files. They have the same version (5.50.4134.100) but different sizes. The Explorer.exe in C:\WINDOWS\revbckup is 396 KB. I think it is from RP7. The other in C:\WINDOWS is 732 KB, it is from the Renovatio, right? And you suggested me to copy the one from RP7 into C:\WINDOWS, overwriting the Explorer.exe from the Renovatio, didn't you? It doesn't allow me to do so, saying "The specified file is being used by Windows." And if it allowed, would I lose all the nice icons from the Renovatio? I don't install Kernel 0.3.2.a on my computer. PS. I'm afraid you will be confused with my words as I was with yours! I don't know how to express this clearly.

To Xstyle: The error message (RUNDLL32) doesn't happen any more. I wish I could know why. I feel at ease to know you also have the taskbar issue! Xstyle, I've installed your Renovatio and see that the icons are improved so much. It's very good. The file THUMBVW.dll from RP7 works better for me so I keep it. Well, if you said so... - First, when I turn on my computer, an error message will pop up. It doesn't happen if I restart Windows or log off. Gape, Bad news: I followed your suggestion but it couldn't help. Good news: I reinstalled WMP9 and the problem has gone. I guess my computer is too weak to put up with the Unofficial WMP10 XP MP3 Codec. Thank you for the idea of reinstalling.

Libanoro, The icons on your desktop look very nice. I also have RP7 but my desktop doesn't look as interesting as yours. Since I installed RP7, I've had to change the screen area from 1024x768 to 800x600 so that I can read the text on the desktop easily. But yours is 640x480, isn't it? So, does it mean that the smaller the screen is, the better it looks like? And do you need to install any more icon packs? Xstyle, Your sidebar looks good but it is something I don't like to have on Win 98! Sorry for my rude words. I mean I like to have Win 98 as simple as possible, and I keep the desktop as clean as I can. By the way, thanks for making some nice themes for Lameskin, Xstyle. RedVista is one of my favourites.

I mean I cannot close it by pressing Close button. After scanning my computer with Ad-aware, I have to press Ctrl-Alt-Delete to close it. This happened after I installed SP3 beta 1 and the Unofficial WMP 10 XP MP3 Codec L3CODECP.ACM 3.3.2.44 for WMP 7/8/9. But I don't know which one caused this problem and cannot uninstall them. Dblake1, I am not sure if any of the available buttons can suit your theme. So I did some simple changes to your own buttons. And I also replace your progress chunk with another one. I got it from an XP theme, not making it. I won't interfere into your theme any more! I don't know why I kept thinking of the word Lameskin when I applied these buttons to your theme! U2kforever, have you tried Uberskin yet? There's some information on the first page of the Uberskin thread, telling you how to apply themes. Are you kidding Dblake1? I thought you would make some modifications then post them here. I haven't done anything with your buttons yet. You see, I don't want to be a rude person! In fact, when I don't like something in a theme, I will replace it with something else I like from another one. A mixture, I think. I am not qualified to create anything new. Sorry I didn't tell you clearly about that. As for your old theme, I made the corners a little square to get rid of the pink and I was somewhat used to its strange buttons. That is the reason why I felt surprised when you changed them into the new ones!

I haven't had any problems yet, so I think I will keep these files. I'm not sure if any of them comes from RP7. I don't want to mess up with it at all. Whether the version is 2.1a or 3.0 beta 1, this SP was created by the same person, right? If reinstalling and overwriting these files can result in reinstalling RP7, I would rather not risk. I've installed this pack (SP 3.1 BETA 1), but when I go to Add/Remove it says that I have Unofficial Windows98 SE Service Pack 2.1a. Why so? During the installation, I kept some files which were recommended. Is this the cause? Then, do I need to reinstall it and let those files be overwritten? By the way, does this pack have an animated boot logo? I only saw a splash screen when the computer was booting. Thanks for any reply. Edit: I forgot to say that I installed SP 2.1a and RP7 before this pack. Dblake1, I don't know how to use imageshack. I uploaded a screenshot there but don't know what to do with the links on the next page. So I uploaded it again on Rapidshare. I hope you don't mind it. The pink at the round corners has gone. But look at the Apply button on the screenshot after I pressed it. I am not sure what it is. This happens to most of the buttons which I can't press on. Does it happen to you? I must tell you again that I am not a good tester. When you modify your theme, just concentrate on the bugs, Dblake1. You should have ignored my own ideas of what I like and dislike. I was surprised when seeing you have changed these buttons: OK, Apply, Cancel. They look nice but are you sure other people will like these new ones? What about you? Do you prefer them to the old ones? I want to say a little more about the pink round corners. Actually, they happen to many lameskins that have round corners. Not sure if other people have the same problem or not. How do I fix this? By pressing F5, or by resizing the resizable windows a little (Note: it didn't work with your old theme). Or if I feel tired of doing that, I'll modify the .bmp images in the theme folders. Just by cutting off all the round corners and making them all square! How rude I am! I did the same with your old theme! I want you to know that I don't take these bugs seriously at all. Just make your theme as best as you feel like. I'll keep trying your theme if you keep releasing it. But, I'll always change it to fit my likes! Take it easy, Dblake1. And take care, too. PS.
