Silent .NET Maker (latest update: 20080603)
Geej replied to Tomcat76's topic in Application Installs
No I didn't. Do I have to? Wouldn't it work other way? I mean, building those 2 packages and run them separately?? Also, hidcon fails to hide the dos box during setup. Ok, not really required to set _SNM.ini with MERGE_FRAMEWORKS=12. I tested Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 1 via svcapck in VM ok. Here is the step : download NetFx20SP1_x86.exe (24mb) and any language file u need. Installed into your host system if if it is not already installed. (U need that. U can't build the package if this package is not already installed) Do not have to change any setting in _SNM.ini Just run SNM.cmd. U should have an output file DNF20.exe (about 17MB). That's it. Run from svcpack will work. I did not observe any DOS box appearing during testing. Only progress status appears. It is by design. If you are adventurous, try the modified SNM_mod.zip posted in page 12, #222 by strel. ( did not try it) to hide the progress status. Basically, a visual progress is nice since is this package install time is pretty long. When u login, add/remove panel should have 1 listing: Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 1 -
here. hope that helps

Silent .NET Maker (latest update: 20080603)
Geej replied to Tomcat76's topic in Application Installs
dnf_full.exe will not work via svcpack.inf because anything above version 3 need to install via GUIRunonce. It is stated clearly 1st post .NET 3.x notes... section -
Try using in another PC. If still same symptom, your usb stick could be faulty. Also, test with another USB stick to see if symptom is repeatable on same computer. If not, try to see if this HP site helps? or this or google around this topic

Silent .NET Maker (latest update: 20080603)
Geej replied to Tomcat76's topic in Application Installs
I had my _SNM.ini set to MERGE_FRAMEWORKS=FULL (located towards the end of the code) And it build a 40.5MB executable file called DNF_all.exe and I ran via GUIRunonce To confirm, in my control panel Add/remove panel, there are 3 listings 1) Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 1 2) Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 Service Pack 1 3) Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Did u set _SNM.ini with MERGE_FRAMEWORKS=12 as per guide? (and run the created file from svcpack) Also, I have use the original SNM.cmd downloaded from 1st post. (By the way, I'm using HFslip but I believe should be the same approach in getting the file installed correctly) Hope it helps with this info. -
Universal Extractor 1.6.1 Homepage - by Jared Breland Changelog Quote from the author:Universal Extractor is a program do to exactly what it says: extract files from any type of archive, whether it's a simple zip file, an installation program, or even a Windows Installer (.msi) package. This is still a work in progress (see details below), but so far it's proven quite useful and I feel others can also benefit from it. I should stress that this application is not intended to be a general purpose archiving program. It will never replace WinRAR, 7-Zip, etc. What it will do is allow you to extract files from virtually any type of archive, regardless of source, compression method, etc. The original motivation behind this project was that I wanted an easy, convenient way to extract files from installation packages, such as Inno Setup or Windows Installer packages, without pulling up a command line every time. In the process I got a little carried away and ended up throwing in support for every kind of archive format I possibly could find. Install with all default settings with ONLY 1 "Uniextract to Subdir" context menu. In addition, no shortcut on desktop & quicklaunch. All unnecessary languages will be deleted. Note: English.ini will not be deleted. Screenshot: 1 Context menu only UniExtract161Intl_addon.cab Size: 5.48 Mb (5,748,044 bytes) MD5: 90A3ACFA167BC2966EAFA833AA8335D9 Uninstallable: Yes

Help Wanted For Adding Portable Programs to Unattended XPCD

I find this guide here very useful: Making A 7-zip Switchless Installer. (It's a command line tool) -
I do not have Kb956390 problem, only kb956391. From the tips given via registry tweak, it fixed kb956391 prompt by Microsoft update. I observe in your HFANSWER.INI, there is no answer setting for IE7 slipsteaming. I had it set IE7SVCPACK=1 Perhaps you want to try this option?

When you right-click Desktop -> Properties, in the Themes Tab, More themes online... link is no longer valid. Below is registry tweak to point to another url. I has it set to themes.belchfire.net You may wish to change the url of your choice. Place this reg file in HFSVCPACK folder More_themes_online.reg

Alternative solution: use 7zsfx method (or winrar method) Below is 7zsfx method. Instruction on using is here Your config.txt in this case would be ;!@Install@!UTF-8! AutoInstall="ai" GUIMode="2" OverwriteMode="0" InstallPath="%userprofile%\\Desktop" ;!@InstallEnd@! The above method will put whatever textfile (that u put in bin folder ) on your desktop. The trick is, u need to run this exe file in GUIRUNONCE. During OOBE stage, u will be prompt for username creation. U put the 1st user as yourself and login yourself first (if there are multiple user on this computer) so that the exe file will extract your textfile to your desktop.

I dun know what is the real problem but just for info I have in my HFTOOLS folder (U have none): 7za.exe boot.bin <----- U may be missing this cWnd.exe EXTRACT.EXE HFANSWER.INI mkisofs.exe <----- possibly this modifyPE.exe and my HFCABS folder has only 1 file: wbemoc.cab whereas u have 5 files. Maybe some members can advice too Realised directx_jun2008_redist.exe can be included in HF (Mine was a reworked version in silent exe downloaded long ago, so I have placed in HFSVCPACK) Since there is no driver to slipstream, u can reduce HFSLIP runtime from 12 min to about 7 min by selecting option D, E or F (Better still, set your driver.cab option using HFANSWER.INI). I had mine running option F (with some driver files) and took me about 8 mins to complete running HFSLIP

Is it possible to change the default "Open" view?
Geej replied to SLK001's topic in Windows Tips 'n' Tweaks
U can try a freeware program OpenWide. Very useful & very lite. I even slipstream this program into my OS -
I'm looking at your list against my list May I suggest directx_jun2008_redist.exe to be located at HFSVCPACK WindowsXP-KB941569-x86-NOR.exe to be located at HFSVCPACK_SW1 There may be some truth about bad ram but I'm not expert in this Can also try setting your virtual PC ram above 128mb

[Release] TUGZip 3.5.0.0 (with minor enhancement)
Geej replied to Geej's topic in Application Add-Ons
Made some changes to enhancement. Remove the need for separate icons (7z, cab & zip) thru TzRes.dll. (Making removing this archiver easier) Remove .sqx & .lzh format from context menu when right-click on folders or multiple-files selection. -
