yes this is normal, i'd get an 80gb WD SE drive, you'll REALLY notice the difference in all applications, or just defrag your drive often before burning..

that sounds like a normal xp disc with added extras for the mamufacturer (OEM folder) if its bootable, it will work fine with no problems after formatting

get this a lot of the time in work, take out the keyboard and clean it well, make sure there's no crap under the F1 key or on the contact what laptop make/model is it, someone might be able to help you with getting the keyboard out, there's usually some small catches along the edges of them!
